Not expensive... But too risky to use it... 3 gems can increase your power from 40 to 60 % around 10 sec Another 3 would DECREASE your power!!! Sounds like gambling.. Right?
lmao I wasn't expecting that decreasing effect. Lvl 5 is better, unless you're the luckiest man in the world.
I wish Guile in Volt was like he is in SFxT. His Flash Kick covers a lot more ground and I like his normals better here in SFxT. According to some on the boards for the console version of this game, Guile and Ryu run SFxT so it's interesting to see that you think he sucks here, especially since turtling is a really powerful play style here.
Really? His normals are really bad in sfxt compared to volt. They have bad range and hitbox so you can't aa people with cr hp or GHK. You can't even connect aa sonic boom, backfist. His priority is also ridiculously bad. Way too many times I have traded a move with guile, but they can hit me with another move and combo me off with that trade. His range is also atrocious. he can't punish blocked abc strings very well. His combos are very limited. You will never land his GHK, TC, cr hp xx flash kick combo in the corner so all he can really do is abc flash kick. He's just a bad ryu with a better fireball The only reason he does well is he has the best projectile in the game. I rarely see guiles online, let alone any good ones. He has a ridiculously good dash but let's be realistic, no guiles actually move forward.
As a player who started playing SF2 since the beginning I will never respect any Guile. LOL But maybe this is the reason Capcom is making Guile more and more single-trick since after SF2 Turbo. Characters like Paul will have a hard time against Guile (Paul has an even shorter leg reach), but once you know how to handle the zoning Guile will not have other way out.
Guile feels more like SF2 Guile in this game than SF4 Guile which is what I like about him. All the ridiculous shit you can do with him in SF4 is fun and all, but he's a meat and potatoes kind of character. That's one thing I didn't like about SF4, they made the older characters play not like themselves, especially where FADCs and all the ridiculous juggles are concerned. SF4 made everything slightly retarded. GHK was never really supposed to be an aa. In SF2 its not a great aa option. cr.Fierce is and if you're trading with it, it probably means you aren't doing it at the right time. Flash Kick was atrocious in SF4 though they seem to have fixed it here. But really? The 2nd most famous anti air move of all time being possibly the worst aa option he has? C'mon. Im not sure if aa Boom/Backfist is a Volt only combo or what. I'm pretty sure it doesn't even work in console SF4. He's not a speed character. If you're trying to punish someone mashing jabs or quick combo strings, youre asking to get hit. He's gone back to being more what he was in SF2 which is a wait-em-out/bloc & punish type of character. He's still not quite as good as he was in SF2, but then, I think Capcom's been afraid of making him too good since then. xD
Cr hp has such an atrocious hitbox as an aa thouugh. I didn't mean cr hp trading but cr mk trading with their poke and them being able to combo me afterwards. For me, sfxt guile is far removed from every other version of him. Guile typically has very good normals in all his incarnations, but in sfxt his normals are the worst in the game. I do agree that he is very basic character but that's not what you want. He doesn't have a high damage punish, but I suppose his ultra not requiring charge is pretty disgusting (it does in console)
They f*cked up the hitbox of the cr.hp in version 1.04 of Volt. (come to think of it, they effed up a lot about Guile in that version.) He feels a bit like MvC2 Guile in this game but maybe that's just because of the abc combos. Still, you shouldn't be surprised. Capcom's idea of "balancing" a game is to nerf everything that's goo about a character rather than buffing up the lower tiers. Thr best character end up being the best because they're the least shitty (see console SF4.)
Really? I never noticed much difference apart from the nerf to the sweep and sonic boom. I still aa with cr hp. With crazy tournaments like this, you'll never beat the guy with no-life that cheats
Yes there are many people cheating in tournament! I've 118 wins now but people with 800 wins? In this torunament also there are only newbye and there is no competition, I always win!!
A turtling Ryu is OP against non-fireball characters. If he has a lead and meter there is nothing you can do.
Not expensive? It's 100G right? I want the new pandora boxes. Come on Capcom, tell us how to unlock them!
Watching someone combo me after a trade is one of the most annoying changes from Volt. Nina can start a combo off of almost every trade and I end up eating like 14 hits. So ridiculous.
He doesn't cheat. He just plays a lot. I got him 3 out of 4 this weekend and he never RQ. He was actually very skilled with Ryu. All the games came down to the wire.
I think there is no need to cheat too. There are too many newbies to rack up the wins. You just need to play a lot. I was out of town and didn't play until yesterday. I already have 50 wins in around 4-5 hours.
Surprisingly, most players use him with speed gems in SFxT and it seems to work. It only adds to the pressure of following in sonic booms when he walks twice as fast. He's just not as tricky as he was in Volt (and I agree that he was sort of a different character in SFIV than he was historically). The combos he could pull off in Volt were really impressive, but in SFxT he's, like you said, a meat and potatoes character with some mind f*cks thrown in.
Is it still Jay (with some stars or symbols around his name)? I played him yesterday. He played a lame Ryu, although he was very good with the style. Sadly, he ran after one match. It was a tough round 3 loss and was really hoping for my revenge. I did a little bit of grinding this weekend but can't imagine any way to play as much as the guys on the top of the list.
Top player never RQd on me. Then again, I only won once out of 3. I never try to win "most played" tourneys. Some people are just too hardcore. I'm happy with my 30 wins and free time
