I still think playing with a joystick is easier. To use your example of b + SP v. bd + SP, each one has a physical feel when using a joystick. There is no physical feel with a virtual d-pad. It's a very simple aspect of the game, but doing it on a controller is still slightly easier than doing it on a virtual d-pad. If something takes more practice to do on a virtual d-pad than it does with a joystick, it is by definition easier on a joystick. Also, ex moves are absolutely easier with a joystick. But, with that said, I'll never complain about the virtual d-pad itself. I have no issues with it even if it lends itself to being less precise on occasion. And the reason why I would never complain about it is because my opponent has to use it too.
Yeah, shinrukuszero posted a video of him using icade or something similar for Volt. I think he said that for some reason he didn't like it, but that was just his initial impression. I guess what I don't know won't hurt me, but I hope it doesn't become common because I do think that it can create an unfair playing ground.
Has anyone come across people that quit when there is a perfectly good connection at the selection screen? Ive come across many, lol i guess they need the lag environment and scared to play for real on a good connection.
so I play kaz + hugo and I just ran in to a guile/ryu player that just spams fireballs and runs like a little ****... any tips on dealing with this?
It's all about spacing for me. You have to find spots when you can get in close with jump in or wist step without taking damage. Most Ryus get into a pattern with FBs. Even if you can't get in any damage when getting in, you'll still be in close where many Ryus panic. I think Kaz has great footsies and will be able to score a knockdown with a sweep/overhead kick or bait a DP. I personally have more trouble with spamming Guiles because they're always moving. Ryus are more stationary so make easier targets and are easier to get close to. Who was the Ryu?
REally? What the hell do you expect him to do against Hugo Hugo is death if you get near with that cheap clap and hit absorbing abilities. My strategy is fb and bait jumps against Kaz/Hugo with Ryu. once in awhile, you can get in a launch combo but no choice but to play cautious against those two.
Kaz can go under fireballs with forward sp, hugo can hit opponent if close enough with sp. Drive them to corner. Neutral jump some foreballs to confuse him.
Trust me, I love the Vpad. But pulling off any EX move would be much easier and precise on a Dpad or stick. I'm sure my opinion is based on my skill level. Which is not high. I have trouble pulling EX moves and always seems like a gamble.
This will make most spammers panic. Don't do a jump in after a knockdown since they will just roll under you. Bait and footsies FTW
Never happened to me! The contrary yes, when there is too lag at selection screen I quit too!! It's too annoying to play in slow motion! I use Ryu and ChunLi and often I fight Vs Kazzuya and with Lag it's impossible to beat Kaz!!
Dude exactly!!! Is it me or does the game lag most when a kaz player comes in!? It's like they know lag is the key to win a fight with kaz when it's time to fight a good player lol...maybe I'm tripping but still lag + kaz = massive annoynst. But my most hated thing is a dahslim x ryu spammer...and at the end of the fight the d x r player comments "not bad" as if he/she was doing some amazing combos but wasn't doing anything but jumping back while strech punching and spamming fire balls !!! Sickens me lol
Yes infact I hope that update fix this lag! I'm not interested in other characters, I use always Ryu and Chun-li.
I play Kaz and lag definitely hurts my game. Kaz is all about timing (doesn't have a true DP). I find that Chun Li, Hugo and Guile are among the toughest to play in lag.
I assume you mean tagging in Kaz? Cr. hp x super works but the timing can be hard, especially in lag. Going straight to super work as well. I think you can also do some juggling with his dragon uppercut and backhand but the timing is also tough. I think I may have even seen someone work in his spinning kick (high, low, low, high). I always seem to forget to save replays when I see something new unfortunately. And within a day or two I can't remember what any of my replays are since they don't store any info at all. So annoying.
Hey Jibba, what's a good damaging combo for Hugo? Mainly for fun since Hugo isn't a combo machine My longest so far is Body Splash, LK,LP, Lariat, LP, Lariat, Dragon Punch grab. Damage is ass since its scaled but fancy lol.
The wording seems weird in your question. Hugo doesn't have a three hitter so I'm assuming that you mean the standard (PP, X). I think that's Hugo's most damaging. LK,LP, X is a little less predictable but less damaging also. I can't seem to link special moves and tagging out with Hugo. Just norms.
Wow. That's really impressive. I play Hugo sort of like I played Gief, not focusing so much on combos but instead just mind games and pressuring the sh*t out of wakeups. If I hit the splash I usually just take the free knockdown or ab launcher to get him out of the match (as my secondary). If I connect the lariat, usually I just take the free backbreaker. Like you said, with scaling, sometimes less can be more (especially when it avoids risky links). Does that combo really work? I can't get some of those links to work. Do you mean LK, LP, palm? I like some of the trial combos but they're so hard to pull off online and don't do enough damage to account for the risk. For example, lariat x backbreaker does 250 damage, while lariat x lk x palm x backbreaker does 306. That lariat x lk link is tough for me to pull off sometimes and I'd rather stick with his mash moves. And btw, which grab is the DP grab?
