Only 3 coins for SFxTekken. If you lose them they regenerate every few hours, otherwise you have to pay 10 cents per fight to keep playing online. Plus there's only 10 characters. It's fun for what it is, but the pay-to-play coin system and no-friendly matches is lame beyond belief. MvC does NOT have online multiplayer, and the controls have not been improved, they still suck. And YES, you should definitely upgrade to KoF-i 2012. Can't believe you haven't done that yet. Easily the best online fighting game on the App Store. Blows away SFxTekken, and is funner than Volt.
I personally never saw the same appeal for KoF. I finally caved and bought it during the last sale and can't believe I spent as much money on KoF as I did on Volt and SFxT combined.
KoF-i 2012 is like a portable version of KoFXIII. Other than the minimal buttons its a lot like the console version and has better netcode. There's a bit of a learning curve after playing Volt but it's a much more sound and more fun game IMO. Definitely better than SFxT at this point anyway I think.
Jus played app, amazing hwoarong! I can see why u like him, he has the "cannon strike esque of cammy" move!
The most annoying thing of this game is when I play single player and in five match I meet 4 times the same characters! The lack of characters!!! Multi is so fun but kof is more complete! In capcom titles there is always some missing element and we have wait for future updates!
Nothing, you have to never loose to keep the 10k points. Loosing makes it easier to level up. Reaching 10k points is useless if you want to unlock more pandora boxes and in game content.
You were much more skilled with your Nina though. Hwo is fun but kinda weak. I haven't found many Good Hwo's yet. I think I've won most of the mirrors. It's okay, I will unlock the full capability of Hwo!
Thats my team, Hwaorang/ Ryu. Still learning though. I'm starting to play SFxT more than Volt, but thats because I'm playing on my iPad 3 and Volt looks horrible on the iPads bigger retina screen. Its still a damn shame there is only 10 characters! and the 3 coin system and bad netcode (although I had a couple of smooth fights last night). When I saw the extra 2 coins added over the weekend, I thought.. great!.. Capcom are finally listening... sadly I was mistaken when I saw it revert back to three. Personally if Capcom do as they did with Volt and only give us one pair of characters every couple of months, Im sorry but thats not gonna cut it! I want to see at least 4 (or more if they really want to excite me) added to the roster in the next update.
A short story about why the Coin system sux (combined with the lack of friendly matches) Last night I was playing a bunch of matches, winning easily playing the same Ryu / Kazuya noobs over and over, until I run into....... Monkey D Luffy. He uses Hugo like me, so I was excited to see what he had to offer. Wow. First match he beat me down. Totally unexpected and unprepared from playing scrubs and not having played another Hugo almost never, so i lost badly. No complaints, actually I couldn't have been happier. I lost? And badly with my own dude? This was awesome! A real match!! Now i am no god in the game, I'm very new, I rarely practice my combos, but the lack of competition online is obvious. So this was very cool Long story short, I think I won a couple then lost the next 5 matches or so. I didn't really count the matches, but each time I loss around 100xp, which i didn't care about, and lost more coins. I burned through the 5 extra we were given, then bought more with the gold coins or whatever that you earn. Burned through a few more going back and forth then........no more coins? WTF? I finally found a good match after playing for a few weeks, and I have to PAY to play more? Now a few of these games were close, so it could have went either way, but I get punished for losing? Or continuing to CHOOSE to lose since I was having fun? that blows man, seriously. Think I got my point across. Thanks for reading, if anyone cares In the morning I have my 3 coins back, but how long until I find another good match to use them on?
One of my main problems with this coin sh!t. I don't enjoy playing newbs. I want to learn to play this game which you gain from fighting skilled players. I'm not great at this game but i understand SF logic. So when I finally get matched with someone my skill or above, 90% don't want to rematch In order to save the precious coins Give me friendlies!
I think I have a bug with the purchasing of gold coins on my version. It always gives me an error then kicks me out of the screen. At first I thought it was because I had iAP's restricted, but I switched it on and still the same error...
I haven't bothered, but how much do they cost? I think I remember the cheapest pack costing $5 but don't remember what that gets you. And how much gold does it cost to buy game coins? I noticed that the game has gotten very stingy with giving out gold lately. I've been stuck at 11 for a long time after buying coins once and using 2 to upgrade a pandora at some point (I think). I once got a coin from that flying box thing, but lately every one of those has given me some stupid tip instead of a real prize. So many damn gimmicks.
Nice job on level 20. Not many have gotten that high yet. I think Gauntlet was unlocked at 14 and I think expert (for arcade) is somewhere around 20. I think I'm currently at 17 but have started moving up again now that I'm losing on purpose.
Does anyone else find the constant logging in and sending data to gamecentre alerts annoying? I wish it would do these things behind the scenes... Instead of those ghastly big black box notices! And while I'm at it, the menu UI could have been better designed, why does every button need to be 2x enlarged?!?! Rant over.
Agreed. The whole system really sucks, I mean, the online features of the game. I can't understand why I need to play online using those damn coins to level up and unlock some offline modes like survival. I just can't understand it...
