Hopefully a release date isn't too far from being confirmed now that they've demoed the game at PAX. I wonder what kind of pricing model we're looking at, because this one won't be a 99p day one special like Volt.
Agreed. wouldn't care about the 10 characters, low frame rate, or mechanics if it was 99 cent since we all know they will update this game in the coming months. But if the price comes out to be 2.99 or higher I will just wait until they put there final touches to the game or save up for the vita version.
That phrase never really made sense. I'm alive, I've got a family, and income, and I'm all-around happy. I'm irritable, sure, but I most certainly do have a life. I'd be willing to pay $5. It's not too much money, and it's certainly been worked on a lot more than other Capcom games on the iOS. One thing you all seem to be forgetting in contrast to "only 10 characters" (you always seem to forget about the imbalance in the game that could occur with a certain team) is that the entire game is 3D. Now I'm sure this is a brand new engine that was made for this game, and if that's correct, then porting the models from the console game over to the iOS version would take a lot longer than just a few days. Completely reworking animations, models, textures, and effects for a brand new platform? That'd take months. What really makes me angry is how you all jump straight to conclusions (they haven't revealed anymore characters beyond ten? Well they've got ten characters! I'm going to complain about it!), and then proceed to say the game is ruined before you've even played it, and call Capcom a crappy developer and publisher (good games, bad business practices).
...you keep talking about the imbalance in the game by adding certain characters, my question is, what does that have to do with some of us expecting a choice of more than 10? As you say, the game looks to be developed from the ground up, so it's not unreasonable expectation IMO. If capcom need/needed more time to design the game to factor in things like team imbalances "Completely reworking animations, models, textures, and effects", then so be it.... No one knew this game was coming out until capcom demo'd it at E3, so they could have potentially held off until they made more progress in the game mechanics ironing out any issues to provide us gamers more content in the form of more characters at launch. In no way am I bashing the game, as obviously I'm yet to play it. But I see nothing wrong in voicing concerns over early perceptions.
I personally still expect more than 10 players and do not think that's reasonable for launch. I'm not saying that will determine whether or not I buy the game, but I would seriously hesitate to drop $5 or $6 on launch for a game with so few players given what I'm accustomed to with Volt and iKOF.
What would be a great update despite from new characters would be the possibility to play 2 vs 2. i know the IOS version isn't design for that, but god that would be a magic surprise.
It was shown at PAX 2012 literally days ago in a near completed build featuring 10 characters. The video showing footage of the giant "Hugo" character fighting Ryu (amongst others) is on the previous page. It's not being cancelled.
