I won't ;) think about it,if the game's out with 10 chars, you can still wait an extra year for 20 chars update then download it,no prob :D

I can see it know. Ryu gets a infinite combo that every single person I play is going to exploit to the point that I'll have to quit when I see a ryu:( lol

I like the way Capcom updated Volt. We had something to look forward to for a nice while there and the characters came in a two-pack. I guess they did that pretty smart keeping people fed in small increments and not complaining or getting burnt out til another big new release..

Sort of. Imagine that Ryu's launcher-to-tag in Nina would allow Nina to get a 5 hit combo, launch, and tag in Ryu for a CLP+CLP+CHP+LTT back to Nina, and repeat. This is probably just to make sure that they can sort that out with 90 combinations before they add another 10 characters.

    Let's... Not go there again.

You're forgetting this is based around team play. If one team could tear the rest up, what's to say that the other teams couldn't do that as well? That's hours of playtesting per team, and that's very difficult. I say keep it simple, because 10 characters still means 90 possible teams, and that's a lot of options.

With all the talks of teams and tagging in and out, I'm actually kind of looking forward to this a bit less than I was previously. I'll still buy it, but I guess I just want a new SF without all the extras.

On a side note, I really need to see some video footage of Dhalsim. I've seens bits from most of the other characters but still no Sim. WTF?

I think the best idea is to see what characters we have so far. Each character has a specific teammate that is canonically recognized, so if there are some who aren't out yet, we can assume their tag partner is a part of it.

This means Poison, by the way.

EDIT: Sagat, too. He's Dhalsim's tag partner.

Didn't realize that characters had specific tag partners. I never play Sagat on Volt so that will be interesting.

I don't think that theory holds. In SF4 Vanilla, they maintained the rival battles but some characters had some really nonsensical rivals. Not everyone hates ryu...

Even in Volt, Cody's rival is... Zangief?

Also, tognesimo, you are in the minority of willing to wait longer for more chars.

Keep in mind, that this is NOT a port so they have to do a lot more work

If you played the console/arcade/PC version of the game, there's cinematics to explain rivalries. For example, Zangief is Cody's second rival (Guy being the first). The reason the two fight is the same reason Zangief is rival to Abel: they're both kind of gloomy types who don't see the joy in fighting Zangief experiences, and thus, he decides to fight them as a friend to cheer them up.

Keeping in mind one of the official pairings in SFxT is Juri and M. Bison, who hate each other and are constantly at each others throats (they're working together to benefit from the same object), the theory has perfect grounds.

    10c2 = 45 only, not 90

So you're saying not every character gets their intended rival? That sounds like what I was saying

Except due to the way pairings work (2nd char is more like an glorified assist character with no hp and with a timer, each 45 pairings have 2 combinations=90 combinations

In Super Street Fighter IV, most characters (in fact, the ones that were added in Volt) got second rivals.

Notice how I said "roughly 90".

No need to reestablish my original reasoning when it's been said for me. Thank you, Harlequin.

Oh right, thanks for reminding this.
I nearly forget character AB not equal to character BA in iOS version, totally different to console version.

    so it should be 10P2 = 90

In the launch trailer seen in volt's update there are almost 20 chars like zangief Rufus jury bison and others, so we can hope the final version will have all these chars

Poor reasoning. SF4 Vanilla (iOS) had a trailer for SSF4 (Arcade) which showcased Juri. She is not in Volt

Or think of animated backgrounds in the intro of KoF that don't even exist in game...

But volt's trailer is for sfxt mobile or sfxt in general? Capcom released volt's update only for sfxt trailer?

SFxT in general. Its just (most of?) the trailers put together. It is not a SFxT iOS specific trailer

Usually capcom reveals the release date one month first so I expect the release at the end of August! Probably next week we'll have good news!
