The lack of news is a little disheartening, i have a bad feeling that they'll release the game with only ten characters, which will be a travesty.
It's possible to bring the whole roster on a5, iPhone 4s is more powerful than a 3ds, and for 3ds super street fighter 4 has the full roster! IMHO is a matter of price, sf for ios has a minor cost than 3ds version!
The game will definitely not come out with anywhere near a full roster. 10 chars for me is already plenty to learn. Why the game won't have close to a full roster -SF4 Vanilla didn't -Since Volt is dead, they will be doing updates to this like SF4 Vanilla -Console versions are getting new updates and new chars -Not worth the effort to put in many chars -Considering how much was done when the game first appeared (on iOS), there's alot of work that needs be done. And that's not talking characters
What set volt apart was online play. Even with only 10 characters I would stillbe playing volt a lot. I
Ok capcom release the game with only 2 characters, it's the same, ryu and ken only! What are you saying??? Not all people plays online, so more characters capcom put and better the game will be!
Thats not the point, I don't need to learn all character moves.. I would be fine just using Ryu, whom will ALWAYS be in a SF game however its having that opportunity to be able to play against more than 10 chars.... ya'know, a bit of variety.. You mention SF4 vanilla, but those days are long gone, the game is like 2 years old.. and I can't imagine anyone still playing it when we have Volt out there, which is why i think we shouldn't be bringing that game into the equation. The benchmark to beat is Volt imo, not SF4 Vanilla. Therefore we should be insisting a sized roster equal to or more than Volt! and I definitely think its worth the effort... I would bet that Capcom makes a hell of a lot of money from ios gamers.
Unfortunately, there hasn't been any news on the release date, or any other new updates for that matter.
I think the end of August, game is always in development, 10 characters are ridiculous, sfvolt has 22 characters!
Well SF4 currently has 14 characters and started out with alot less, so 10 characters seem reasonable to me for SFxT. Capcom will probably release another version of SFxT with more characters like they did Volt.
So next year sfxtekken volt with 4-5 characters plus and some options? No it seems ridiculous to me, give us almost 20 chars!
Hmm, I highly doubt they'll follow the same plan they did with SF4 & Volt. Why do you think this? IMO it was just natural progression when they released Volt with more characters AND online, as it probably would have been too complicated and unnecessary to release it as an update to SF4 vanilla, for example, look at KOF-i. It too had no online feature at start, but instead of adding it as an update feature, they released a completely new game KOF-i 2012. Now since SFxT will already have features like online play from the get go, the only thing I see Capcom doing is dragging out the release of additional characters in updates, much like what they did with Volt. But expecting Capcom to release a new version months later with just added characters? that makes no sense, as we're talking mobile devices here not consoles. The worse that can happen is they offer us extra chars via IAP and I hope that never happens.
Only ten characters, I don't believe it, maybe this week we'll get an update status about extra chars or a release date.
Maybe we should start complaining when we know it's final. Until then, everyone's just throwing out childish complaints. We don't even have a release date, much less the month it'll be out on. Besides, in a tag game like this, there'll be a lot of issues Capcom will have to patch out over time. 10 characters means teams of two, which means roughly 90 combinations that could have infinite combos, juggle issues, or range/hitbox problems. Those are big flaws, so maybe Capcom is going to go small for a while so they don't end up releasing a game where one team will tear everyone else apart. That's a smart move, since they have to test a new engine (this is not a strait port) with the same characters, where physics and reactions might not be the same.
Mine are considerations, ten characters nowadays are too low, sfvolt has 22 chars and people want more! It's true, there are a great number of combinations but releasing chars every month it makes no sense! Release the game later with all chars!
What you rather 10 chars now and then updates with more chars later or would you rather wait an extra month for say 12 chars with updates later?
