Releasing Volt as a separate app would kill my device storage space if I were to keep both installed. Although multiplayer seems revolutionary and new characters are surely worthy isn't not very considerate of storage. Nevermind possible achievement duplication, etc. I hope I'm wrong and Bolt is drastically awesome or has mechanics to to justify separate storage.
Let's hope it won't need 300MB+ this time, or I'll just skip it. Hell, with the imminent release of DeathSmiles and FF Tactics, I can't waste so much space anymore. Volt ought to be amazing and a completely new game at this point, or I'll won't touch it.
You have a very good point there. I wondered the exact same thing. EA does this as well. Madden 11 on ios was a big improvement over Madden 10, but even as good as it looks, the graphics and performance are still notches below that of Madden on the PSP and 3DS. This is a major inconsistency, when you compare the processing power of the PSP, 3DS and ios 4G devices. Konami did the exact same thing with Pro Evolution Soccer. If you watch the E3 2011 Madden 12 ios demonstration clip on youtube, the early build of the game looked no different than the previous year. It had the same graphics and awful physics engine. It looked like a total waste of the ipad 2's processing power. The EA rep said that it was because the iPad 2 was released late in the games development cycle. If that's true, how were they able to make Madden 11 look so much better than Madden 10. The iphone 4 came out in June of 2010. The ipad 2 came out in April of 2011. My whole point here is that I appreciate the major game developers bringing the big franchises to ios, but don't be lazy about it. It is making ios look weak, as a gaming platform. I would much rather they put more work into the games and charge $10+.
