I feel you mikkel. I play zangief too...and it felt like the update awarded the people who only won by spamming. but hang in there. I feel the BP point system has finally evened itself out for me. I'm usually fighting people on my level now....and I've figured out how to get past MOST of people's strategies. (except freaking akuma)

Ya, I mean, I do seriously respect the good players every now and then if they start playing the game by ATTACKING. I mean, seriously, I waited for like 10 secs with some opponents who done absolutely NOTHING except moving backwards and block, and attacks you when you move near. I mean, seriously, yes, I know that is an effective way against Zangief, esp. if you're using Sagat and you have a very long range standing roundhouse kick which makes my green fist and jumps quite useless against you. But does it makes you a better player? Do you feel better after the win? Does it boost your ego to say: Ya, I finished a game against a Zangief which is so stupid that every time he jumps, I kick, and I won the game?

So now my motto is: If you start behaving like a coward with no thoughts except for the win, sorry, I WILL RQ. I have Zero BP now so it doesn't gets negative so I won't bother. If you attack at least like a decent player and play against me, ya, I will let you win and score the win.:D

EDIT: Try playing Zangief against a Akuma who spams fireballs and teleports away is hopeless. If he has a decent mind and stays relatively alert, ya, he can beat Zangief by just pressing SP, teleport, jumps a bit, etc.

Haha, that's a good one. So, you hate players that move back and block... Against Zangief? Really? That's a "cheap" player to you, huh? 'Cause it negates your strategy, right?

That simply means that they out thought you. Regardless of your view of "they just pressed the SP button". Yeah? So? All Zangief does is press Forward and SP and he can take 1/4 of your stamina, so why WOULD you get near a grappler?

Rage quitting is rage quitting, regardless of your reason. No RQ is "justified" because you "don't like the way they play the game."

    Honestly, I don't understand people.

Happens to my Ryus, Akumas, Bisons, etc.

Basically It has turned into a turtling game.

Honestly "I dun understand people" as well. Do you truly enjoy the game's multiplayer system based on BP as they are now, where things are as they are now? Or you prefer just a casual gaming experience? How many of us in the forums here are "pro"? Or as my earlier posts, does you having 2000BP means ANYTHING in life?

Maybe yes, I am a noob, but what I am talking about is in general's people's style of play, with some of them just doing nothing. If you think that is "out-thinking" me, please look at some real matches on youtube, or visit your local arcade. Do people throw in a token and then press back and WAIT? And what happens next? When you start attacking and win, what do they do? They RQ....

BTW, Just received a msg in Game Centre from one "Chris Hassn" which says "I am real fxxx up die".... Enjoy your game! And if you think you're THAT good, add me and PLAY ME. If not, name callings will not help.

Yes they do, when something's at stake, people do anything to win, even if it's turtling or zoning. In competitive matches, the reason no one really just turtles or zones is because their opponents know how to FORCE them play upclose or vice versa.

Exhibition matches are entirely different. People play to make a fun and entertaining match, often with each winning a round then a very close third round.

In the arcade, if you're playing someone below your level, maybe you want to toy with them and play upclose, just to tease them or give a round of respect, because you're certain you can finish him off rather easily.

I'm not saying you are noob (sorry if I said it wrong), I'm saying only noobs would fight Zangief up close, as that's suicide mission.

lol sorta off topic but that chris hasan guy he's a BP hacker right cause i battled somebody like that and had like infinite wins and BP. and i'll join the rant to i hate fireball/uppercut spamming sagats, sumo smashin hondas, spiral arrow/canon spiking cammys, as well as hadouken/dragonpunching ryus and kens. any ways i have around 1500 bp and my name is xD4RKSH4DOWZx if any buddy wants any RQ-free friendly matches [yeah u won't believe how many people RQ in friendly matches too] anyways that was my two cents peace guys.

Let's compile a list of common behaviors we see online: Haha...

    1) fireball/uppercut spamming sagats
    2) sumo smashin hondas
    3) spiral arrow/canon spiking cammys
    4) hadouken/dragonpunching ryus and kens
    5) Air fireball/ground fireball/red fireball akumas
    6) crouch kick > Slam Zangiefs

    :D

I added the last 2... Basically you can try it on CPUs as well.... a blocked crouch kick (not the heavy one) = instant slam for zangief, if you can get the timing right... extremely useful against CPU EXCEPT Gueling Bisons/Akumas...

Zangief is a pretty poor choice for online, as it seems like about 1/4 people are Akuma, and that's probably the worst matchup in the ios version. Just try using a different character. Bison is a good choice against turtlers, especially Akuma. And don't ragequit, even if you aren't having fun, doesn't mean you should ruin it for others, no matter how scrubby they are.

    Doing some compilation:

    1) fireball/uppercut spamming sagats
    2) sumo smashin hondas
    3) spiral arrow/canon spiking cammys
    4) hadouken/dragonpunching ryus and kens
    5) Air fireball/ground fireball/red fireball akumas
    6) crouch kick > Slam Zangiefs
    7) stomping bison
    8) sonic boom and flash kicking guile

    My humble Opinion:

    1) Zangief is a half half bet. If you encounter inexperienced spammers (note I used the word spammers, not players), you do stand a decent chance as all you need is 1 chance to get close and force them to make mistakes. Of coz against Akuma you have the odds against you, but his damage to you is also lesser as compare to others, so keep that in mind and exchange a bit. So far, Zangief is my 2nd most used char after Bison, 64 wins, 13 lost.

    2) Bison is a good match vs. Akumas becoz of his long jumps and range of kicks, plus his damage factor works well. Akumas cannot spam fireballs becoz of the risk of the head stomp, jump in kick + standing kick, or just teleport and slam/attack him. That's why my Bison is the most used char, altho the average win/loss ratio is not as good as Zangief, but I got tired of jumping over fireballs the whole day... :D

Side Note: Sonic Boom + Flash Kick Guile is not scary. Wait till you see a Guile with good melee skills (i.e. punch and kicks) spamming you with punches and kicks... it's worse...

    I've also come across:
    Abel spamming change of direction
    Blanka spamming rolling attack
    Vega spamming flying Barcelona

The most frustrating spammers to play against are people who pick characters who aren't as popular since I don't get much practice against those characters.

LOL... Wait till you encounter C.Viper or Makoto... Spamming punches > dash attack.... ;)

Abel change of direction : just slam him
Blanka: tough unless you have a fireball char, and still have to watch out for his EX version which goes thru fireballs.
Vega: Just keep jumping backwards? Might work...

^ If the first hit in change of direction hits, I'm pretty much stuck for the rest of the combo. What do you mean slam him? Throw him?

I use C.Viper, so no fireballs to use against Blanka, but I'm slowly learning to deal with him.

And jumping (in any direction) when Vega does flying Barcelona usually gets me caught in the Izuna drop or whatever it's called.

And I did come across a few Makotos who just crouch punch>hayate>crouch punch>hayate and repeat...

But haven't come across any viper players yet, although I only play friendly games since I just switched to viper after the update. Still practicing...

I play abel and you shouldn't be getting hit by change of direction. By slam him I think he means punish if you block the first hit, which you usually will. With viper just use thunder knuckle after the first hit is blocked. And you have to block 2nd and 3rd hits high.

This is what was confusing me. I knew the hits alternated between high and low but didn't know which was which. Thanks for the tip.

There's a mindset online that crouching block is better than standing block. If people just constantly block low, use an overhead. For abel it's wheel kick and for viper i guess you could jump then quickly burning kick, to ultra if you have it.
