I think for those of us who are neck-deep in Volt (and general SF4), these tournaments aren't really geared for us. I see what Capcom's been trying to do -- encourage ranked matched, encourage "good match" (i.e. so ppl will play till the end and not RQ), encourage a variety of characters to be used, encourage replay uploads. This is yet another element to introduce to ppl who aren't us -- then 0-1000BP players. I imagine Capcom is hoping that these tournaments will improve the play level of the user base, similar to how the character tourney was intended to encourage players to try out different characters. I imagine after they've gone through their list of "things to get all players to try out", things will get better. For now, just need to bear with it.
They have been trying this with the new features. And that was ok. But let's face it: on the character-specific tournament most players waited for their weeks. Just a few gave a try to his second or third character. Messing with FA - Counters is a little risky. Maybe it was planned to make players to improve their skills. But that's hard. Using FA is not the best option in most matches because of the SP assistant, and Counter is not all up to you. So I don't think this will work, not even for the newcomers. And for "veterans" it's useless, you won't change your gameplay just for a tournament.
Let me know if you need any help... Dieminion played too close. If there was ever a matchup to play lame and zone the opponent out, that was the one.
Good games Apprunner! Funny how I always meet you in friendly, even in the Japanese server. Your Cammy plays different than before, in a good way. You seem more aggressive and do less random wake-ups, which i've kind of learned to adapt to, so that's good. You use the dive kick on me more which is really effective toward your wake up mix ups. Stop improving, let me catch up!
I'm still trying to improve. Been playing the Japanese so I have to be sharp You are improving. It's very hard for me and the games were all close...well except for the Cody one . I think that's a really bad matchup for Cody. Your Ryu is definetly improving. Train hard and i will play you later
ello guys i'm new here. Was introduced here by another member, i forgot his name though. Been playing Volt since its launch. Main Vega. Hope can learn a thing or two from u guys here
oh yes pls i'd always appreciate if i can learn anything new. i've been losing continuously to my friend's zangief quite frustrating... I'm in team LYN SF Volt currently.
Welcome to the forums, MyKy! Always glad to have new players here. We were just talking about Vega combos earlier today: http://forums.toucharcade.com/showpost.php?p=2171783&postcount=19301 http://forums.toucharcade.com/showpost.php?p=2171794&postcount=19305 edit: Also there's (corner) jump K, Cosmic Heel, Scarlet Terror, Super that isn't in the links above. Are there any other interesting ones you would want to add to that list? Let's not jump to conclusions. MyKy might be as good, if not better, than Finix!
alo mooken! i think i'm using most of the combos there ady I've seen the scarlet terror into Super, but i can't replicate it efficiently. i had another use for Super though, but it requires precise timing. But if executed nicely, enemy has very small window to escape. >make untechable move; Izuna Drop, grab, Splendid claw. >time the Super such that just when they're waking up, u're flying above their head. it's an all or nothing attack. But if game lags, it's gonna be nothing at all lol. I have some replays, not sure how to post it here. Grrr i just hope Capcom will nerf Zangief during next update. His flying chest hair (and freaking leg hair!) attack has crazy hitframe
ngahahahha alo nash!! i've cometh to brain end with ah wang's gief. i need to find inspiration elsewhere D:
