Good lord what's with the SP hate?

This isn't an Arcade Cabinet your playing this game on. If you want to handicap yourself by turning it off, fine. But to call someone less skillful for using it is absolutely nonsense.

And there's no such defense to be found in saying you're a "SF Purist" because if you TRULY were, you wouldn't even go NEAR Volt in the first place.

So really, let the hate for the SP Assist go. It's necessary to this port of the game. If you don't like it, get a console or go to an arcade.

As for Sakura, don't confuse her as a character with the person controlling her. There's many ways to play a character, some are more effective than others. Best thing to do is find one you think is cool and just run with them. However, that being said... Ken is miles ahead in terms of ease of use. His DP is a nightmare and has frame advantage over pretty much everything. Sakura can be just as strong, but it takes a lot more work to get her up to his level.

EDIT: dammit ablueleaf, now I'm not going to get any sleep :p SBO is killer ! Highest level play you'll see! Thx for the link bud !

What's going on? They're resetting the Arcade cabinet and stuck on the character select screen...

Thanks for the words of encouragement on Sakura, haha... I never actually got around to playing SSF4 on the PC/PC3 but am enjoying it a lot on the portable platform. I never did (or will) resort to the SP button anyways, probably because of my own standards or preferences of not wanting to take the 'easy way out'. Call it self-discipline for a better cause, if you want ;)

But what makes using the SP Assist "an easy way out" exactly ? This is reminiscent of the whole Controller Vs. Fight Stick debate.

Well, whatever your preferences are, they are I guess. I just really dislike people who rag on others for using it. It's not like it's some super cheat that is hacked into the game. It's in there because the Touchscreen sucks for controlling a fighter in a game and it allows people to perform the moves that would otherwise have a high chance of not coming out right.

EDIT: Auto Block... Is a different matter. I don't think THAT was a necessary addition.

And DAMN do I love Adon, ahahhaha. The only thing this stream needs more of is T Hawk. :D

Lol, you're not that bad. Yeah you need to be patient and block and wait for an opening. I will request latter tonight if you're up;)

I don't think those who use a button provided by the game's developers in order to facilitate playing a game (and attempt to compensate for the inadequate virtual joystick) are particularly lacking in standards and self-discipline, to be honest. I think maybe they just want to be able to play the game. But each to his own.

Serious question - Evo was last weekend. If the arcade SFIV had an SP button do you think one single result would have been different?

  7. Fuudo is in it but I haven't seen him playing . His name is ふ~ど .
Supposedly he has the fastest reaction time among all the players .

Stream : Shop Qualifier is over. Area qualifier is coming after 1 hour.

I always liked SBO more than Evo because you can't just sign up for SBO. If you've never seen an SBO before... You're in for a real treat. It's done up right proper. Ah, looks like I got some time to kill before more stream. Hm... Guess time to hit up some more Volt and practise with Vega!

What's shop qualifier? And is SSF4:AE just today?

  10. Winners from the shop(arcade) qualifiers get to progress to area qualifiers . SBO is a 2v2 tourney .

So the area qualifier I guess is the final 'segment' in today's stream?

I can live with the fact that I'm no good at this game. I can live with the fact that people can beat me by using the same move over and over again. I can live with the fact that I yo-yo around the 1,000 BP mark and will probably never get my last achievement on this game.

But I'm absolutely sick of trying 15-20 times to actually get to okay the game online, I'm sick of losing matches 'cause the move comes out three weeks after I pressed the button. I'm sick of getting hit by yet another fireball due to the lag making jumping forward over it so difficult. And I'm really, really, really sick of the sh*tty joystick*.

Maybe I should take a break from the game, I dunno. Maybe I should stop moaning and get good. I'm still right about virtual joysticks not being up to arcade games, though...

On another note, have all the high BP players just vanished since the update? :)

  13. Yep this will be the last for today .

yep, would be good if capcom could make the lobby or at least connect to players from the same region, otherwise too many games are laggy.

I see plenty of people floating around 2500-3500 and they are all legit now, which makes me happy.

i played a match against someone who at final round rage quitted
so i check my BP to see if i gained points or not but found nothing changed the same wins and losses
why is that? isn't the update supposed to fix ragequit?

You don't get the win or gain BP, but they surely get the loss and lose BP with the update. When they ragequit, you won't see their updated player card. It will only update if you ever face him off again.

If they quit, they lose more BP than the usual, get 1 disconnect and 1 lose. But you don't earn any point or win.

That's just to avoid people exploiting it just to get more win+BP.

Yeah they just implemented the same system from the console versions.

Any Bison players that know how to punish a tiger knee spammer?
