    Ryu and Bison
    1st 2 rounds used Ryu
then changed to Bison for 3rd and 4th round to head press when he spams
    but all auto blocked
    then changed back to ryu

In the actual game I will never bitch about getting zoned, which is what you guys are calling spam. In this version it's awful cause I know they're only pushing one button and the game blocks for them.

Weird, everytime I fight against gruelling bison as bison he always spams head press and my ryu can't block it.

I agree with what Graymalkin said, end of the day, dont beat yourself up about it, remember YOU also have the choice of using the auto block and SP button.

Quite frankly I doubt I could ever enjoy this game IF i had to manually input in special moves using the touchscreen controls...the SP button is genius!

I'm sure he was playing mind games. Who uses the same strategy when fighting consecutively against the same person? Not that many because they know that the opponent will come up (at least try to) with a counter in between matches where as they couldn't in the spur of the moment.

Usually I use a playstyle. If that's working, keep using it. If they catch on to it, incorporate something extra eg. doing cross ups with Bison and they are blocking the low kicks to the scissor kicks. After a few of those, they will surely remain blocking until the end of the combo with the scissor kicks, so go for low kicks to a throw.

That's because grueling bison knows the exact time you throw a fireball and not reacting to it like humans. Only way for us to actually get a headstomp is to analyze their timing. When you figure that out, you will definitely get those headstomps to hit when they are still in the recovery frames and have no chance to block it.

It's weird how much more I hate playing against Ken over Ryu.

same. his jumping kick hitbox seems to be way bigger than ryus so he can easily go to a cr. medium kick to srk( which is better than ryus)

Seriously, and that ####ing kick sets up a massive combo that stuns Bison if it's used twice.

During the brief period when the game wasn't just disconnecting tonight I managed to play six Zangiefs in a row. Which means I lost six times in a row. I really must figure out how to counter a tactic that is, at heart, 'walk up to someone and grab them'. The cold war heated up for me today.

Then I faced a fireball-happy Sagat, with lag so bad I couldn't actually jump over fireballs without getting hit half the time. Ace.

    I'll never get to 1,500 BP, will I? :)

Zangiefs worst matchups are against fireball characters. But I use abel so I have a bit of trouble with him too. Im on 1340 bp right now :D. All these kens just do random srks and i cr. fierce falling sky them. Then they do another random srk, some people just dont learn.

The thing that upset me most is when I lose to someone less skilled because of the lag.

I just joined this forum cuz I'm obsessed with sf4:volt. and am looking for advice from fellow zangeif players or those who know. I'm able to get past the sagat, ryu, and Ken spammers....BUT FREAKING AKUMA. I swear, I haven't run into an akuma player who knew there were other buttons besides SP-assist.

I'm able to parry and dodge his fireballs fine, but I can't get close enough to touch him alot of the times. the pattern is usually red fireball red fireball teleport. maybe I just gottta trick him into teleporting where I want him?

also I read the comment about zangeif players a few posts back about the 'walk up and throw' strategy. I'll let that one slide haha. ;]

I love getting my ass kicked by wediafom... haha. We play, and I lose 95% of the time but, with each battle I can feel my gameplay and strategies improving.

Sakura's quickly becoming my favorite character in Volt. She has some quick air-to-ground combos, a nice focus attack, and good link-ups for decent damage to tackle a variety of opponents.

I just need to get better (and perhaps, more patient) while using her, instead of trying to rush down at inopportune times (especially against Abel and Gief).

i dont really see how sakura is in any way better than say ken. his srk is better, ultra is better, more life, fireball is better, sweep is better. am i missing some huge part of her game? cos when i play her online i just bait the srk and punish. even if it does hit, its not even that strong. maybe her focus attack is betted, im not sure, but if you want to go for that style of gameplay ken or ryu is a much better option i think.

this. its probably a bit easier for me cos i main abel, so i can just roll through ground fireballs but OMG i cant find a punish for his air fireballs or his teleport unless i have ultra, soooooo annoying.

You may be right, but i'm just not a "Ken" person... haha. I've always chosen Ryu over Ken in the past, and will probably always continue to do so.

With Ryu, his attacks are more powerful but Sakura's nimbleness is something i've learnt to appreciate over the past few days. Some people don't prefer the start-up in her SRK but I actually like it - it helps gain some distance on a diagonal scale instead of going completely vertical like Ryu. I also like her arching Tatsu and the way it can be combo'ed in and out of other attacks.

While her Ultra doesn't deal much damage, it's very easy to get in after a combo as well. Ken is probably an overall better fighter, but I just prefer Sakura's style and quickness instead :)
