Game Impressions SF:V has become a big reason why I thank myself for buying an iPhone 4... nearly every day now. I still pause in amazement at times at how much strategy, how deep, and how much of a learning curve a mobile game is capable of having these days. With the addition of new characters, specifically Akuma and Sakura for me, i've been trying to improve my combos, timings and battle plan... and it's been a blast. Can't wait for Fei Long to finally make his appearance; I'm sure Capcom will support the SF series for iOS in the future and look forward to seeing a retina/iPad 2 enhanced version in the future. If anyone wants to hit me up online, add me on GC (KiddToKmart)
erm... auto block has weakness which is the sweep kick if im not mistaken. btw, how to cross up and jump in for characters that have srk and no srk? any particular strategy?
Bait them. Jump in forward a few times... when you feel your opponent is going to SRK on your next jump, jump straight upwards or just walk forward and block in the process. Counter. Profit.
But sweep kick has nothing to do with Viper's air burning kicks when she jumps in after downing a opponent and they have to guess whether they should block left or right. With auto block, just don't touch anything and HUGE part of her gameplan can be disregarded because of it.
well yea.. but rather change ur plan rather than being punish after using the air burning kick p/s: makoto's fukiage does not hit on SRK whiff im sad now don really have opportunity to use it except FA or extremely lucky anticipated cross up
Yea, kinda sucks, and it's even worse if you whiff the fukiage yourself since the recovery is so slow after that move. You can focus backdash after the first hit of the SRK then do an EX fukiage, but I don't think that's something that we can pull off everytime especially with the lag online.
Anybody have ideas for punishing hondas headbutt. I usually use abel so i cant fireball or srk. If i anticipate it i can jump backwards and tornado throw but is there anything I can do from block?
Also if anyone from AUS or NZ wants to have some fights add me Snooper' (the apostrophe isnt accidental). Im guessing most of u guys are american and id love to have a game or two, but lag will probably kill it.
The forward kick works wonders after blocking the headbutt. Not sure if there's other moves you can do since I didn't try everything.
juz played some online game spammers are so annoying especially with auto block on imagine ryu spamming fireball heavily and bison's head press is blocked and another zangief spamming hand and command throw what's there to play? btw how to play against blanka and dhalsim?
yep, same here! how can you beat a good blanka and dhalsim player, i`m having trouble finding their weakness!
Thanks! I never tried using the forward kick after blocking a headbutt, but rather jump forward and tried heavy kick, crouching kick. I'll try this the next time. As for Dhalsim, since I main Ken, I'd usually prepare myself to SRK them, knowing that they'll spam their long reaching punches after throwing a Yoga Fire, or while jumping. Works for me so far.
correct me if im wrong, but it seems like abel cant combo into ANYTHING from his step kick. I never noticed until now as I hardly use it, but i was messing around in the training room and couldnt find any moves that it combos into. im 100% sure that its a big part of abels game in console versions...
I usually use it to get into distance, then EX tornado throw, but i'd also like to hear some combos for it.
Really? I find spammers are the most easiest to beat... and I'm no way brilliant at the game. Obviously lag plays its part...sometimes negative, sometimes positive.. I agree
some spammers are easy to play against but somehow just the Ryu I met keep spamming fireballs across the screen and I had to jump over and constantly got SRK worse still i suspect he has the auto block turned on i can't to punish him accordingly
That's not spamming, that's playing. I posted this on another forum... "If I lose to someone who's doing the same thing over and over again (which happens a fair bit, as I'm pretty rubbish at the game) I know it was my fault. I should have played better, or figured out a way to counter the repeated move. I certainly don't see why I should expect someone to stop doing something that's working just because it's 'boring' or 'scrubby' (Gods, I hate that word) - it's up to me to force them to change. "The clever combatant imposes his will on the enemy, but does not allow the enemy's will to be imposed on him." - Sun Tzu" Which I still stand by. The game gives people tools to use, how they choose to use them is up to them. As OutSpoken points out, for a good player a spammer is a free win. We'll just have to keep practicing to get there!
try measuring the distance of your jump so that you jump into and immediately block his SRK... when he comes down, let 'em have it. also, if you time your jumps properly, you can actually kick him on the head and then follow up with another crouching kick.
i nvr say it's his fault that i lost the reason why I seek advice because I know the cause of lost is within myself tried few times by jumping over and overhead kick but he blocked all with auto block and on the very last game(after 6 games), he FADC ultra me to death not sure he is playing mind game to let me think he's a spammer that doesnt plan anything
