Great games, as always! I've never played that long either, but I kept seeing the 2P icon near the continue button so I just kept pressing it. Your Akuma was great, I could barely keep up with your secondary character with my main. Very tricky to figure out considering 99% of other Akumas play the fireball only game.
At match number 28 with Squall... His Sagat is great against me, but his Sim isn't too good against my Yun. Regardless, it's giving me practice, seeing as Ken|Ken is destroying my Yun. And I can feel my skill going up thanks to Squall...
We had 20 something last week trying out different charcters in which he excelled in all of them How did your exam go BTW?
Finally finished a 30 round set with Squall. I beat him ten times, he beat me twenty. I've got a couple replays, including this really awesome one where he perfected my YUN with his Dhalsim in the last round. Good games, Squall! Also, wouldn't no Auto Block be amazing for Dhalsim's Ultra?
I think we played more than 10 last time we got matched up, in the Abel vs. Gief games. But yea, around 20 is usually my max.
GG Felix, I guess this is the first time we played, and finally I am able to see why you are considered one of the best Yun. my sim just wasn't up to the fast pace you bring to me. also we missed a lot of combo from both ends. do you feel there is a little bit input lag in our matches? anyway, nice games. hope to play you again sometime
Thank you for the compliment! And your Sim was really improving in the later games. I think that there was a bit of input lag. For example, you kept on missing the Tiger Uppercut - FADC - High Step Kick which, from what I've seen of your replays, is usually easy for you. Yeah, I hope to fight you again sometime!
There are two things that really hurt when I play as Akuma: 1. Getting hit by any special 2. Dropping combos or doing guaranteed combos knowing that it's possible to do an extra 100 damage with the same startup. The low HP is just brutal and his inside presence isn't too intimidating which is why most rely on the far away fireball game. I wish his normals didn't have such a long startup. He's at best a low 3k BP character. It's a struggle facing anyone that's 2.5k BP with him. Given that he's overused, he has been exposed so most know how to play against Akuma.
my damn cable disconnect again today when I'm fighting with DROQQA, really sorry about this if u can see my post. It also happen yesterday when I fought with NYC-Chinatown, sorry for that too. I think it's trying to tell me I play too much these days.
If Akuma has an ultra, is there no way to jump toward him ? I know Ryu or characters with air-special attacks can beat Akuma's ultra but can characters without any air-special attack can beat his ultra?
It depends on how close you are to the ground and the moves you have. If Akuma starts his Ultra as you're almost to the ground, you're definitely caught. If he starts it a bit earlier than that, though, you can get him. I think you play Blanka, and if so, I think that an up ball can stop his ultra. I think.
Well that was a little unfair of me to assume. It's just that even the best of the best can't put up a record like that. Statistically, it doesn't seem possible but I've never heard anyone claim that you RQ so I guess you deserve the benefit of the doubt. I hope to play you sometime.
D4 that was a long set, I was at work so I couldn't really focus 100% on the matches but you seem to have caught on pretty quick. My Fei is hardcore out of practice I've been playing mostly Honda lately. I'm not gonna lie I just wanted that Fei mirror the whole time, I was like for someone saying he's "The Fei Long" he certainly is not playing Fei Long. Good games man, my only tip is to open up a little that walk back in the corner and just reversal the whole match is fine for ranked where you are playing for points but friendlies should be aggressive and fun you can't learn new tech unless you try it out in a friendly environment.
That's the nicest way anybody's ever been called a turtle How did the fei-fei mirror go? The public wants to know.
I don't kiss and tell I think we only played one fei mirror. We were like 25 matches deep and he finally pulled him out so I switched to Fei hoping to God he would pick him again and he did I won but he walked away with the higher win count so who's really the winner? Ultimately I've been playing Fei since Fei's release date so I didn't expect it to go any other way, the only Fei I've played that beat me in a mirror was Tenz and he's on a different level than us. Not to say that I'm better than other Fei's on here I just don't play anyone but him except for my recent love for Honda I've never really mained anyone else.
Haha I knew from the second I saw your name. I was thinking "This guy is going to want to keep playing till he gets his Fei V. Fei" Honestly, Being the douchebag that I am, I wasn't going to give it to you lol. Nothing personal, it's just I hate the Fei mirror especially between two good ones. It basically just winds up being a poking contest and whoever can focus attack the other guys chicken wing first wins. Also as for the walk back and reversal thing, that was only with Ryu and that was because I just started playing him yesterday and I believe thats the only way he should be played. GG's nonetheless and I had fun, I hope you did as well, though it doesn't sound as if you did. Voloster V. D4Gamers Fei Mirror: Voloster wins 1-0
It's very character-specific. Sim's spear will always knock him out of it so i bait the move constantly. I've also knocked him out of it with a lot of other character's moves but haven't tested them in training mode. I think that if you get certain jump attacks out before his ultra they can take priority. But I could be totally wrong on this. You can usually get a feel for when an opponent is waiting to spring an ultra though.
Haha it's all good man, like I said you walked away the winner of the night, by a long shot, regarding Ryu though he is very solid defense wise but is not meant to be played full screen Ryu flourishes in footsie range where he can block string his jab, jab, short, fireball and make your opponent crack open or whiff moves. Not a lot of people respect him here but look up some of Slick Mackys replays he may be known as a quitter but his Ryu is great and he uses a lot of what I'm talking about. You beat my Fei fair and square with Ryu so don't take this as anymore than friendly tips. The Fei mirror was just for fun haha I left afterwards because my buddy wanted to play 3rd strike and I had already made him wait 10 minutes trying to get your Fei to come out, we will run it back once I get back into the world of Volt again don't you worry.
