This is so funny, the way you put it... Actually what I do if I wanna learn, I will go to the training room. You can enable CPU and fight him with infinite health, and the gauges can be set as well. I was more curious how your Makoto managed to beat Bison on Grueling. I was in training room and there was no way I can overcome his "zero recovery moves". I do not expect myself to even see Akuma with Makoto on grueling
Didn't notice this but perhaps it's true? She's just a little girl, I don't expect her to have health like Zangief! Didn't play with Sakura much as her style is similar (with slight deviations here and there) with the rest of the Fireball/Uppercut characters. SF needs more originality... Zzzz.... Matoko? That's another story... P.S> Where's DAN?
I'd say SNK vs Capcom on the Neo Geo Pocket Color is definitely a great, rather than good, beat-em-up. And no mention of Pit Fighter on the Lynx? (Joke! Showing my age there, too... ) Your only real option, as mentioned by Mestre7, is Tatsunoko vs Capcom. It's part of the vs series, rather than a straight Street Fighter game, but is really good fun. It's a two-on-two fighter, pitched about halfway between the technicality of Street Fighter IV and the controlled chaos of Marvel vs Capcom 3. If you're old enough to remember Battle of the Planets, also, you'll get a real kick out of it. Your best bet is to pick up the version that comes bundled with an arcade stick - you can find them pretty cheap, and the joystick's very nice (in fact, I liked the feel of it so much I got another and had a friend mod it for use on PS3/ Xbox 360...).
I wan to ask about makoto's fukiage Any gd chance to use it to juggle except cross up? Like srk whiff or spin kick ducked
I'm about to track down the coder of Grueling Akuma and KO him irl for making such a f*cking ridiculous bot. I challenge someone to beat this guy with M. Bison. I have confirmed it's impossible
Just stay full screen and keep doing head stomps. Akuma will tend to just Hadouken you. I just beat him on the second try. Too bad it doesn't display the difficulty when I load up the saved replay.
I think technically it is possible. I got bored and stopped all the restart thingy, but 2 things you need to note: 1) He is fundamentally a fireball char. Fireballs are best time for bison to either head stomp or jump kick/standing kick him, given Bison's advantage in range and damage. 2) All other times, BLOCK. You cannot retaliate alot of his moves, but his jumping grab etc are things which are likely to come out once he'd done a few fireballs. Watch out for it and punish him. 3) Again, you need some luck. I find grueling Bison WORSE than grueling Akuma.
I did, too (although - crouching block & dragon punch) - Grueling Akuma is 'just' Akuma turned up another notch (which is still a thing to be feared), whereas Grueling Bison is a whole different kettle of ball games to the other Bisons. And Akuma's low health means you at least do 'normal' damage with your attacks, so it's not as depressing as hitting Bison with an Ultra only to find you've barely scratched him... (Typing this means I'll never beat Grueling Akuma again, doesn't it? </jinx>)
Does anybody know how the new anty-ragequit system works...? I disconnected a few time, by sms and call, but nothing happens... no penalty, no nothing, have the same BP, and wins...
Here's the replay against Grueling Akuma (no sound): Subscribe to the TouchArcade YouTube channel There we go, got the embed correct now.
He can really punish you when he has the Ultra ready as you can see in the first round. That kept on happening a LOT with infinite bars on training mode.
I have a feeling Capcom will probably prolong the next update to stretch the life out...maybe nearing xmas But lets hope not. I really want to play as Evil Ryu.
Is there some kind of story mode in the game? Ain't controls clunky on touchscreen, are the graphics 3d or prerendered 2d? How s the game overall worth 5 bucks or not?
@Chickdigger: if you don't want to use SP assist, try to think of 'drawing' the motion on the virtual stick, rather than trying to use it like a d-pad. The mistake i made when i first started playing was to roll my thumb around as if i was using a real pad, but this doesn't really work so well on the touchscreen. Instead, i started drawing the motions (same for fireballs, half-circle motions, even 360s or double 360s) and have had no problems since. @imnewhere: no story mode, which annoys me too- i often like to play versus fighting games to see the characters' crazy backstories, but here there are none. Controls, like i explained above, are no problem at all- they just require you to learn how to do the inputs, just like if you were coming to it first time on a stick, or a pad. Touchscreen is a whole new interface, so expect a learning curve. This isn't really a game that newcomers to SF can just pick up and expect to play well. The graphics are all prerendered 2D, made from the 3D models from the original game. Worth 5 notes? Depends on whether you like learning a game and becoming good enough to master it. If you just want to run from start to end in arcade mode, and consider that you 'finished' the game then probably not- SF is all about strategy and depth.
New content Will capcom also add evil ryu, gen, gouken and guy? Or maybe new envirements or costumes? PLEASE TELL MEEEE!!! TELL ME IF U KNOW!
That's grueling? You've gotta be kidding me. Normal mode akuma on stage mode looks harder than that. And how come he didn't have the double air fireball?
