I saw jibba's replay earlier. It was pretty amusing. The double akuma ultra reminds me of double cyclops ultra in xvsf. Despite being a beam ultra, the later one wins out. @jack If the air sonic boom hits, guile high kick can hit them out of the air too for more damage. But in those cases I was trying to antiair in case they went over the sonic boom. It looks like really sloppy play in the replay, I do admit. I've also grown out of the habit of using the backfist. I much prefer the knockdown and there are a few times in the replay where I sweep after a sonic boom hits them in the air. Oops I also have a replay of sim vs alucard's akuma. He ultras me just as I throw out my super. Guess who wins? (the flames are actually on akuma at that point) Also is Cyrus now going around calling himself mr zangief?

Was just checking, Cyrus. I noticed a habit you have, after a knockdown, if you're walking back a few steps you're gonna throw. If you don't you're gonna body splash. Not like I could stop either from happening, but something I noticed I've had bad experiences flash kicking crossovers before. From memory, your body splash beats out my flash kick. Grabbing you seemed to work well. I was mainly trying out the standing p. you for one, can attest to the powers of it! Why did you change name? You're confusing people like me

I would guess dhalsim's super beats out akuma's ultra. It doesn't have fireball invincibility until the grab animation.
Just watched his vega vid. I saw a decent combo. Yeah, that was it. Him (5800BP) uploading his Vega barely beated 1800BP Sagat.. lol.... And I saw conversation between him and police. My first impression "TWINS!?" But I'm on Police's side this one, at least he's not ruining those fun events. Capcom does clean up those dirty RQers in Japanese server though, shame they don't do it here.
They managed to get rid of someone last wk from our servers that was hacking (SOD batman, I think?), just before they announced the wkly winner.
Right, I think if you do a high kick after the sonic boom, if your fast you can EX sonic after the high kick. (not sure) I prefer playing guile, I like people jumping over the sonic boom's and you hit them whole game long and they don't change their strategy
These are fun matches from my perspective too. I can't take too much of them though (same with Sim mirrors). I know the timing on the Bison teleport matchup pretty well too so I know how to punish most Bisons when they try to play this game. When playing the teleport game, Sim has a slight advantage because he can also air teleport. And I tell myself at the beginning of every Bison match . . . remember to block those awful standing kicks!!
I think the fairer option is separate moves. It's cool to have beastly moves, but it's not cool if one a couple characters have them and the other don't.
Yeah... you can air teleport, but I can still reach you in most cases with that standing kick Just have to time the kick right, sometimes Ken|Ken gets me good with the timing on this, have to adjust to that guy everytime we play!
Yeah, but to be honest, the characters are VERYYYY well balanced... considering what Capcom had to do. Of course some are better than others, but considering, anyone can beat anyone with any character.... too many variables to calculate!
Yeah, it all comes down to timing. And while I know how to time it right, my fingers don't always respond quickly enough. I understand that Capcom has limitations, but I think they could do better with balance and hope that they continue with their nerfs/buffs to the game. I think virtually everyone agrees who the top and bottom tier characters are.
Very true but minor incremental changes can balance out all characters. Its up to us to maximize the characters and some even transcend what a character is supposed to do. I remember most of us thought Rog was mid-tier and was only okay...until TenOneZ came and showed us the way Was quite a rude awakening
I do agree that many people will say the certain low and high teir characters... but keep in mind, just like Apprunner said, it only takes extremely good player with a character to completely change the game. Like with bison, yeah head stomp is annoying, but shotos have a good way of dealing with that, I figured out... not a glitch but basically a small tool that totally changes the matchups to my favor, most Bison players do not use this and I have noticed that it really is a game changer. I am sure this is true for all characters... you find out the little esoteric trick that most of the players don't know, your all of the sudden on a completely different level.
