I played a ton last night but Batman is outpacing me. I will play again tonight and try for 50 wins. I had a great hot streak last night. Only JePas Honda kicked my ass. Terrorizing rankings with a pesky Cammy is fun
Still not fair with his BP. I find it hard to believe he could have such a high win rate with a character he hardly uses. I'd like to play his Cammy first hand to see how good he really is. In the end, I doubt I can win but top 5 will be good enough
The console counterpart of this game is highly featured at competitive tournaments around the world. The iOS version, while simplified, still contains a significant amount of the elements that make the console game great -- assymetrical characters (22 of them?), and we're all still uncovering new tactics, strategies, and combos. Among all SF4 Volt players in the world, some of the top players are here at TA forums. We've even got out own haters. =)
Yeah, but you see that doesn't explain anything. I've played some street fighter games and they were just tapping buttons... And I know that TA members are among best on iOS mp games. For example, I'm part of TA's MC3 "community" and one of ta guys is 5th on mc3 leaderboard. Actually no. I don't do that sort of stuff. I really want to know why this game is good, I don't own it so don't think I just came here to nag because I suck. You think I get nearly 4,000 posts since June by just doing "post and runs"? Lol dude, you don't even know me or what kind of games I like. Frankly I hate Angry Birds even though as a finn I should praise the national treasure of Finland. I haven't even seen you around the forums and I visit almost every sub-forum so what are you trolling here? True, but I ain't one. Just curious.
I only play SFIV so don't need to go to any other forum right. I do troll this sub forum though so you caught me red handed.
There's definitely a learning curve between "just tapping buttons" to competitive Street Fighter play. The nuances of "move A beats move B, but move B beats move A under these specific conditions", and you add up moves A through move N for each of the 22 characters. It's the equivalent of saying that poker is randomly getting better cards than your opponent. Yes, but there's betting, reads, statistical pot odds, anticipating your opponent's counter-moves to your moves, baiting opponents. Just as basketball is about putting the ball in the basket, or soccer is about putting the ball in the net. The nuances of spacing, deception, anticipation, counter-strategies and tactics, are all there in the game. But you'll need to put in time to get that same enjoyment out. As for this forum, well, we're all very passionate about this game, and are constantly learning and sharing thigns we find daily. Additionally, we've grown a community here, and many of us chat outside of this forum.
Why dont you go buy the game and satisfy your big curiousity? When I want a Gameloft game, I just wait until its a buck...right there.
I got to this late but Mooken pretty much said everything I was going to. What I don't understand is why your bothered so much by something so meaningless as a thread thats got a couple thousand replies.
I don't think LOLavi is all that bothered, but he's certainly very puzzled by why a seemingly simple mashy game can generate this large of a community. I don't think he's trying to troll us. If anything, I would very much welcome another new person into the community, if he's interesting in learning the ins-and-outs of the game.
Alright guys!! I'm going to a comedy show now, but when I get back it's time to make the volt community nice & Salty!!! =D See you guys very sooooon!!!!!
Nope. He's not trying to troll us. He's a pretty decent guy in MC3 thread, and he's just being normal.
Very well said, mooken. I grew up going to arcades and playing SF 3rd strike.... IOS version comes out... Sold... And as simple as it is, mooken said it right.... The strategys are endless, console counterpart has like 100,000 more variables, only true skilled gamers can be above average at SF
Speaking of Jinx. Just played a couple games with him. Uploaded a vid on my KaChiiga account if interested.
I never said you were trolling(or if I said, I didn't mean it), but rather understanding my point wrong and talking like I'm here to troll. Yeah I can understand that someone has a passion for a game. I never thought I'd like FPS games until I tried MC3. But I mean, you're on the same area. On MC3, I can do tons of things from regular playing to suicide bombing and even knife only games. Of course it's strategy, but it still looks like it has so little possibilities for me to enjoy the game for this long. It's good that you've grown a community here, MC3 thread also has one. Probably because of your community this thread has gotten this big. Because I don't want to spend 7 dollars on a game that I'm probably gonna hate. Next time it goes to 1 dollar, sure I'll grab it. I've accidentally bought Final Fight by Capcom and it wasn't enjoyable. Of course they may be different, but I've played this type of game with a friend and I didn't enjoy it. Because obviously it has something good about the game if this is so popular around here. But I don't like this genre myself and I thought with so many views and posts, this probably wouldn't be that bad game and so I came here to ask you guys what makes this game so special to you and you start calling me a troll and make this such a big deal when all I wanted was impressions. Exactly. And I'm not sure would I join just yet, maybe when it gets a sale... Thanks Felix
