Don't try to chip off wake-up with low tiger shots, that's just asking for headbutts. doubledash back on wake-up sumo smash. Or just block it. there's not always anything you can do to counter. Honda's a more agile, more airborne Gief. Don't get close.

Yeah, say hello to Mr. Ochio after you whiff that tiger knee. Also, it's really hard to ultra off ex tiger shot. Gotta be in the corner, and when people are in the corner they either block or jump. Not many opportunities to connect.
well would ya look at that. That makes it much easier. When fighting Honda with Bison, usually they think they will headbutt my whiffed headstomps, but after last update, you can catch the headbutt with a devil reverse, this does most of the trick, also dashing forward and then hitting them with bisons slide sweep works well, I usually dash and then sweep at beginiing because they walkbackwards, or I tele and grab.... his grab is quick though. if they spam sumo smash, I either FA and dash to standing kick, or I just tele out and headstomp their sumo smashes... sometimes I get raped by sumo smash spam... that can get annoying!
It can work, but against better players it can be really tough. His up close moves, if blocked, leave him very vulnerable, and his zoning can be so incredibly good. Yup. Eventually they almost all back off. But it can take longer against Sim because he doesn't have the same kind of wake up moves.
Using Cammy, bait headbutt, block then spiral arrow or just walk up and throw them (they will be holding back for a charge...they all do that). If you have ultra, a regular headbutt can be ultra'd after a block. If they EX-headbutt, block and walk back. No use doing anything but they just lost a meter. If they sumo splash, just stand there...they will either hit in front of you or it will get blocked and then dp - fadc - dp. They will probably not sumo splash again as that took 30% of their hit points Also neutral jump a couple times and then do a jump forward to the typical jump kick spiral arrow combo. Tons of damage there. For mind games, low dive kick, fadc back and wait...next time low dive kick (hitting their feet) then throw or fadc forward and then uppercut. I hope this helps.
Ahh it's feeling soo good to win with yun against a gief. In my opinion this is the worst possible match up.... every small mistake and yun loses half of his lifebar. �������� you Capcom for making Zangief such an asshole. ...and thank you for making such a good game!
That's zangief's power.. You must deal with it, and I think if you time good with yun you can play very wel vs zangief. Just timing

Zangief just needs to make a living, even if he is giving out free hugs. But yeah, I agree with you that this is a horribly matchup. I'm pissed that they didn't let Yun keep his EX Zenpou Tenshin grab invincibility. It would help GREATLY. And technically, Yun loses almost a third of his lifebar. Unless we're talking about his super or ultra... his super takes almost two thirds of his lifebar, and an ultra takes out two thirds. That's why you Kobokushi spam.
I ALWAYS love against 1000 bp Ryus, but I get pissed and rematch them because I know they suck. Then I lose again and get really pissed. Why do I do that? Training Gief has killed my bp, so I see them a lot now.
