In theory akuma dominates gief, but your akuma syndrome is even worse. Make one mistake and you're dead. But I wouldn't want to win a match through fireballing and teleporting. Tangent: I was playing against a Honda yesterday. His jumping p was beating out my Guile high kick alot. So i switched to standing p for anti air. It traded or beat out his one
Akuma has 850 Health. Zangief's fully charged Ultra does 600 damage. Zangief's SPD does 260 damage; 280 if EX. His Double Suplex leaves for easy crossups if Akuma doesn't think to teleport away from FBA. His super does 500 damage. All it takes is two attacks to take down an Akuma. That's why Akumas spam you out.
Don't make a mistake. Seriously, though, when you screw up and know it, you can usually teleport before he can throw you. The wise ones will lariat, but that's not so bad. Akuma is an offensive beast when used properly. You just have to keep moving and he won't be able to keep up... unless he's Cyrus.
I don't think it's cheap at all. I'm not saying you should run away and fireball. Just teleport when you know he's going to throw. It's either that or stand there and get clobbered, which isn't much of a strategy. I usually get right in Gief's face with Akuma. As soon as he starts blocking or whatever, I take off, then come right back and keep beating on him. Akuma has horrible health, so his teleport isn't cheap; it's a big reason why he's not terrible. Another good move is his airborne fireball. Jump backwards and toss one instead of teleporting and you'll nail him if he's trying to throw you. It doesn't do much damage to him, but it helps. It also keeps him put if he's blocking. If you can get Gief defensive or intimidated, the match is yours.
I actually laughed when I came across him weeks ago. It's comparable to fighting a bear in real life. I was so helpless I couldn't take it seriously enough to get mad.
I never thought she was A tier. She's annoying as heck tier. Also, I love Genei Jin's ability to cancel out every single normal with either another normal or a special. It is pure awesome against Akuma.

Ryu vs Akuma was jooookes!!! I always enjoy playing Akumas when they're not on controlled by robots. Play ya sooon!!

I think you can say that about anyone that fights blanka. Anyone that plays super lame has a much better chance of beating blanka than blanka does at beating them. For example, n3ro plays a relatively lame viper, especially when compared to yyojjo and vaceotyn, I can beat the latter but I don't think I've won a round against n3ro.

Nah. Super Lame Zangief vs Guile has no chance, si? Super lame is only viable for certain chars. I did a round this morning vs one of those 0 bp kens (you know the type) and got a huge life lead with like 80 seconds left. One more hit would kill him, and I was at nearly full, save some chip damage off an SRK or two. So you bet I spent the next 80 seconds running around the level, with him earnestly trying to kill me, making sure to lame it out and both not take enough damage to put me in that Ken-ultra danger zone, while also not killing him with my escape moves. not too many chars can play ultra lame like that Although Bison immediately comes to mind...
