I disagree with pretty much everything you said there, especially the bold. You have alot more than one frame to punish unsafe spiral arrows, just mash throw/uppercut. Even charge characters can mash a light move (cr lk for blanka or bison for example) and punish her pretty easily.
From a Blanka perspective it's 100% true. Even in her "unsafe" range, if she's at farthest "unsafe," there's very little if anything I can do. Maybe if this were in the arcades countering would be a feasible option, but with the sheer amount of online latency (+the fact that I'm a charge character and can't just "mash" a counter or I'll end up doing an elec), you have a dirty, ugly situation. EDIT: I have now come up with the most brilliant solution to this, though. Snooper, thou shalt install the game (don't worry, it shall be temporary) and play against Apprunner's cammy using Blanka. You shall feel the pain of the "I-WAS-TRYING-TO-PUNISH-THAT"s @cyrus good games let's do a set later.
She seems S tier to me. Almost all of her stuff leads to a knockdown, she has an excellent pressure game against others on their wakeup, and when blocked she ends up with a ton of 50/50s. Not to mention she's the (on paper) ultimate counter to viper.
This. I've beaten every high ranked Bison on the boards and have gotten either even with them or better than them (mostly better). Also, my toughest matchups are against Guile, Rog, Geif and Ryu but for different reasons. I will beat most lesser players of these characters except for Ryu. I lose to 2k Ryus all the time. If they turtle and play a low kick, Fireball game, not much I can do. All the other lesser versions of these are easier prey. I have a different take than Snoopr on this. The worse matchup for Cammy is definitely Guile but Ryu is a close second. But that's just my opinion Nullroar just feels this way cause Cammy is a bad matchup. SLRC just laughs at Cammy like she's an annoying insect.
Thank you sir, that DOES help! I think you're oversimplifying it a bit. Guile's Sonic Boom is a cornerstone of his game just like Ryu's Fireball and Sagat's Tiger Shots are to theirs. Guile's style has ALWAYS been more defensive, it's just that in a game like SF4 where defense is rewarded and offense is punished, a character like him is going to do better than, say, Blanka. But maybe with that said you should think about switching characters. *shrug* Actually, he put her in the A tier in the tierlist he posted a few pages back. I heartily disagree (I think she's B tier at most) but he has said she's top tier for a little while.
They have no idea null! I'm sure everyone thinks I just make excuses when I lose, especially to a cammy, when I complain about lag. But they just don't know how true it is, the slightest amount of lag when playing cammy = me being punished at least 50% of the time when I try to counter.
Does anyone happen to know where the game save is located? Is it in the iPhone>Apps>sf4dash>Documents folder? I found the titles and such in there but I wasn't sure if there was something else. Now that I've finished all the challenges, I'd rather not have to do all that again.
It is in documents..... but be careful, you can't just copy the entire directory.... weird shit will happen if you do...
I've never had the chance to fight Snooper... redtiger I played a few sets with the other day, not so good, at least against my bison... Apprunner is bison killing machine... its funny apprunner, you know a lot of... i'll call them secrets that other cammys fail to use against me. if they only knew how easy it was to take me out haha We need to go again Apprunner, its been a while since we last played
In a game like SF4, Blanka is known as one of the most defensive characters out there. It's true that you see a lot of Blankas jumping around pianoing elec and so fourth, but the "lame" Blankas that employ spacing and patience are actually extremely difficult for most of the cast to crack. It's simply volt that throws this SF4 mechanic out the window when moves like coward crouch and "safe" lp balls are gone. That said, I think SB and, say, the FBs of other cast members are different for obvious reasons - it's much easier to, say, choke the back button and mash sp and be "safe" than it is for a different char to use their FBs. Unlike Ryu, who cannot simply Fireball and uppercut and do well, a guile can (and I have done this, so I can back it up) do almost nothing but sonic boom and roundhouse at jumpers and get past 2k handily. That's 1 special move and 1 normal. The amount of space control is obscene. As far as switching chars, if Adon becomes available you'll see me do it in a heartbeat. Otherwise, Blanka is the character I feel plays most like him. I've always hated using charge chars. To Apprunner, who suggested that I hate cammy because cammy is a bad matchup - Fei is a terrible matchup for Blanka on paper (he can punish balls with full rekka damage and his uppercut goes straight up to stop cross up jumping shenanigans) but I don't hate Fei. Back when I was maining Geif, before the Dhalsim nerfs, a good sim was almost impossible to beat, but I had no problem with the character. Similarly, as Blanka, back before Honda's headbutt nerf, it was as about as uphill a fight as could be, and I didn't have any Honda rage moments. Heck, I hate cammy far more than I ever even hated the mega-insane Sagat Tiger Knee + low kick loop back before the nerve, and I HAAAATED that. It's really just Cammy.
You are definitely top tier now Heif (along with fffan, TheXion, and that Korean Bison guy). I enjoy the replays you put up. I'm sure this iteration of Bison is better so you will probably beat the crap out of me as you did Redtiger I honestly think Redtiger's style is very hard to fight against as he looks completely reckless but I don't think he really is. I think his reaction times may be so good that all those spiral arrows are calculated He never seems to miss with them. Also for those who want to main Cammy...good luck. You will see begin to see why I consider Cammy a B tier and not A
