Felix. I bet the first time we play, your gonna kill me. I never fight good Yuns online...won't know what to do when I actually meet one I'll hit you up for a few games sometimes
Damn, I read this thread too late! I git rid of most my replays because I was out of space the only replay I have from that set is the Whiffed Chicken Wing Ultra. Sorry guys!
To those who have issues with Abel, just neutral jump. His anti air wheel kick comes out to slow to counter it. Neutral jump kick sweeputs a world of hurt on Abel. I have had a lot of issues with Abel in the past till you find his weakness is no great anti air. Then he becomes much more manageable. Also learn to block his punch block string. He has huuuge recovery time if he misses that throw attemp
I think Geif is just right, considering his sluggishness. Abel is pushing it, but I'm okay with him. Sagat, on the other hand, needs some serious nerfing. Holy sh*t.
Sorry Justgodude and KaChigga for the excruciatingly slow connection. My gf's Internet is normally blazing fast but one of her housemates must be downloading porn or something. We'll try again another time. But the games we DID play were pretty good despite it all.
A good Gief will out footsie you any day. You have to rely on punishing green hands, whiffed throws and lariats. A good Gief wont do any of those things unless he knows its gunna hit for sure. Gief comes out on the positive end with almost all trades. He has a hell of a goid anti-air and a throw with massive range that takes a 1/3 of your life. Gief is sluggish because he doesn't need to go to you, he has so much health he can sit on the other side of the screen knowing that all it takes to win is for him to punish any mistake you make to take a devasting health lead.
Sorry Docta. I thought the problem was on my side. Indeed we'll have to do this again on a better day! Thanks for trying to play through the lag.
I see what you're saying. It depends on the character, though. I main Akuma and Gief is by far my easiest opponent. I've lost many rounds to Giefs after literally two moves, but I still don't think that's a problem. It takes a really good Gief to be able to catch a good Akuma more than once or twice in a round. My favorite approach is to rush them and get them defensive. When they start backing off I like to walk right up and throw them. When they try to counter my moves, I can usually teleport away or jump back and toss an airborne fireball or two. It's like watching a bear getting frustrated trying to catch fish. But, there are Giefs like Cyrus who I just can't escape. Even with demon flips and teleportations, he really knows how to trap me and get me in a panic. Those guys are extremely rare, though. I've only ever come across one other Gief who just manhandled me like that (he was a ragequitter so no respect there).
So I decided to troll some people in friendlies and fought against some 3800 BP player called alucard31 or something like that. He wasn't very tough... anyone else fought him?
Problem is, there are viable things you can't actually do WITHOUT SP Assist on in this game. So there's really no reason NOT to play with it on unfortunately. I usually do the moves the regular way anyway but I leave SP on just in case.
Like I said, her connection is normally really fast so I was like "Maaan, why's Justgodude trying to play over 3G?" Then I did a speed test and facepalmed when I saw the 1400+ ms ping. >_< So thank YOU for trying to play through the lag!
Wait wait wait, are you telling me SP assist allows you to do everything your able to do If you had it off? If this is true I've basically been giving myself a handicap.
He probably never met a Yun like you and panicked. I lose to more Sakuras and dee Jays as I rarely see them.
