NES-style icade controller, for anyone thinking about it. certainly a bit more portable than an icade stick. http://toucharcade.com/2012/02/13/thinkgeek-announces-the-icade-8-bitty/
Yeah, you left me fuming. Haha. That 1st round was a great comeback on your end. I don't know how I let it happen but I've learned that I need to walk away after something like that. I could tell I was playing on tilt for that 2nd round and didn't want to give away all my BPs, although it's always better to give them away to another TA member.
Snooper wrote a bit long guide for Cammy. I know the link has been posted in this thread a bunch of times but I don't have it handy.
Hieu. The advice i gave you regarding Cammy was for spiral arrow not cannon spike. Just got confused...you got me before my morning coffee (not fair!). Anyway, the cannon strike is probably one of the most important skills to have for mix-ups. You want to hit below their waist as you get a frame advantage. From here, its where the mind games happen. you can block, uppercut, throw, or low medium kick to uppercut. If you think they will try to counter, then block and punish them after they wiff; or uppercut as you have the frame advantage. If you think they will block, then throw. If you think they will throw, then either uppercut or low medium kick to uppercut (sometimes they will try to counter the throw by timing and they stand up...then low kick uppercut works). Also, cannon strike throws off the timing of the opponenets. if you keep jump kicking and they start timing you, you can use it instead since it changes the direction of the jump and a lot of times they whiff. Snooper's guide explains a lot of what I said.
Honestly, the guide won't do you any good without playing 50-100 games with Cammy and trying out her moves. Play her in friendlies which has easy competition and see what works and doesn't then read the guide. Without that first hand experience, the guide is too sophisticated to appreciate IMO...but what do i know...
I had a 10 match set with him before hahaahaahhaa you must've made him maaad!!!! Still stupid for RQing!! LOL what a G, he always means business XD
Yeah, he was fuming. I don't understand what these people expect. I played my standard style Sim in the first matchup and he won because he was so aggressive and was always in my face with jump kicks. He also was SRKing like crazy and would hit my fists when I'd punch from the other side of the screen. What does he expect me to do? Stick with that style. Of course I'm going to switch to my extra tricky style teleporting around, confusing him and punishing his constant whiffed SRKs. But as everyone knows, constant SRKs is fighting but anything that can beat it is cheap. I was pretty pissed too, but only because he beat me the first round and quit when I won, which is pretty much the worst thing you can do in this game. Plus, willdj24 was pretty good, albeit a little predictable after awhile, and I wanted the replay to watch for future reference, since there are so many aggressive Kens out there.
I just recently got back into ranked and it's so much worse than even FRIENDLY for ragequitting. Basically every game I lose will count, and only 20% of my wins will. Awesome.
Well, for what it's worth, there are definitely good days. I've had some decent stretches without real RQ problems. I recently worked my way up to about 2800+ BPs, which was my pre-update high IIRC, due to a lack of RQs. I was all set to pass 3k, but this weekend was brutal with lots of RQers. And to be fair, I also got matched up with a lot of really good players this weekend. That made for some fun matches but made gaining BPs a lot tougher. Also, I had noticed you were back on the train racking up BPs or TPs or whatever the hell they're called on the team page. Glad to have you back.
My comment used to say, "win count +(x)" Well, after about a week of updating x with my wins not accounted for RQiting, I decided to stop doing that as it took too much maintance. It really sucks when you have an awesome battle and barely pull it out, then the other guy quits... just sucks. I don't like losing to scrubs, but I can appreciate it when they beat me... let them have the replay.. dumb RQuiting.
So apparently I'm in a mood today because I usually never message RQers but I just came across a 1500 bp Bison named Y3ahRight and all he did was teleport. This got him a few hits here and there but never won him a round or even brought him close to doing the type of damage Bison is capable of so at the end of the last round he tried to head stomp me when I had full meter and an ultra stocked so I of course block the head stomp and wait for the scrubby follow up punch instead of floating away and srk ultra him and he quits. I wasn't mad I was just so blown away on how he had ever won a single match like that, it was worse than a srk happy Ken. So I sent a message with non safe for work context and never got a response, I'm still waiting for one to teleport into my GC inbox. On another note I came across a guy playing Abel by the name of Killyin who was pretty damn good, we went one and one in the Ryu v Abel match and then he stomped my Fei the last match, my Fei is out of practice though because I've been doing the Ryu challenge thing for the team.
I tried to play bison for the challenge and gave up really quickly. I just can't play charge characters at all.
He's a legit player. We've played many times in the past and has never RQ on me (even though Cammy is a bad matchup for ABel). His Abel is also pretty good
If I find that I get 2 or 3 RQs back to back, I give up ranked for the rest of the night. Its just one of those nights... On the other hand, I think I had more luck than you this weekend. I had a good training week learning new Cammy stuff and tried it out over the weekend. Felt really good and looked at my card to find my win streak at 33 Coincidentally, my Apprunner account also had a 33 win streak and I cracked 4k BP during that streak. I'm now at 3800BP...hoping to get to 4k this week (knock on wood). My KaChigga account has been there before but its always good to reach your goals
Hey Wedia, Good games bro, I'd wished it didn't lag so often, it made difficult connecting a lot of attacks, however it was fun regardless. Sorry had to go, have to get back to studying, we'll game again and hopefully it'll lag less.
Very nice. Congrats. I think one of my biggest problems is not knowing when to call it quits on ranked for the night, or knowing when to call it quits but sticking with it anyway. As I said to Heif earlier, I go on tilt occasionally if I run into a few RQs, do something stupid or get unlucky. Rather than walking away and taking a breather, sometimes I'll just try to play through it and that's not the smartest move.
I gave up ranked a long time ago when 50% of potential wins were not accounted for because of RQs. I'm going to continue play KOH, Public friendlies or in-house games until the new Street Fighter x Tekken or new update is released. It's beyond frustrating with the frequency of dropped matches, BP is heavily skewed and RQ penalties are not enforced.
Try this. Play ranked for 3-5 games. Take a breather by playing a few friendlies or looking for TA members. If you still feel good, play a couple more ranked. I think your BP would go up quite a bit Also, when I was trying to churn out TP, my KaChigga account went from 3800BP to 3200BP over the week. Squalls went from 4k to 3400BP during the week (and he of course easily got back to 4k) Everyone begins to play sloppy after churning out numerous games...it affects everyone. A lot of the top players play only a few ranked games a day...it helps a lot with BP acquisition. just some thoughts...
