So I just looked through the last few pages of this thread and so no posts about this - has no one else discovered you can now play as Akuma?? The instructions on how to do it were listed in a front page article. He's a bit different than I remember from SF3A but it's still awesome being able to play him now!
It's a weird thing, because obviously since they make you disconnect if you have a notification (Which don't try to play ascension and SF:Volt, or if your friends are feeling chatty) they don't want to punish you for something out of your hand, sadly it just leaves it available for exploiting like people do.
I guess I'm doing it wrong. My record has been decimated by quitters (37-40) but I only have 2 ranked drops in my last 20 (both due to text messages). I haven't played a ranked match in a week due to an awful stretch of RQers who dropped my record from 10 above .500 to my current record.
Just when I think I'm doing really well I get rocked 6-0 by some dude. Close matches. There are no curses that express my frustration.
Wouldn't feel to bad I've done terrible in this version when I've tried online and I can easily beat the arcade machines and about 95% of challengers without losing a round, maybe I should just bite the bullet and turn SP on I think even the slightest lag puts all the timing out. Ironicly most times I was actually winning they disconnected just at the end so my record is horrible.
No, but they do have an actual joystick. Another reason why the SP button is used. Mmm. Although there are, of course, some very good players out there. I forget his name, but I played someone who had a record something like 140w 6l. Two absolute hidings later I believed it! It can happen, though - before I started doing the airplane mode/ notifications off thing I got up to 7/20 in one single evening. Sorry of any of them were to you! And you think disconnecting is the best way to help clean up the problem? Close matches are the best kind, but I know what you mean - I'm never more cross with myself than when I could have (or even should have) won. At least when you get absolutely leathered you just think 'Oh well...'! There's a reason the controls are simplified for the touch-screen iPhone, and it's the touch-screen. Just use the SP button. It's not like it's a rapid-fire joypad or a Hitbox that can block both ways - Capcom put it there on purpose. Besides, it's jumping forward I have all the problems with...
any experts on the forums that know a lot about ken and deejay? ifinished challenge mode for ken but i suck at applying the combos in online matches any tips? as for deejay im having some trouble with his charge move combos so i would appreciate it if any body has any tips
Great! some games made by JP Cop are always good,i can tell they always want their products be perfect, like sony's MD(no ad!), i really like JP products and they live up to my expections!
I am NOT an expert but in general, remember which combos you can do well (no need to be fanciful) and stick to those is a good way for online matches. Very rarely will you have a chance to pull off the last few combos in challanges during online play as your opponent is NOT standing still, your Ultra is not full, or your SC is not filled, or lag is killing you. So it's better to connect with a simple heavy punch + upper cut + SC (if you have it) than to do a heavy punch + Upper Cut + FADC + .... whatever, and MISSING it... And let your opponent rain his combos on you... The key is practice and train harder (as highlighted by Ryu) so that the combos you want to used comes out naturally and instinctively. If you need to "think", then chances are you wont have a chance at all. For me I had the advantage of playing games since SF2 days, and being through almost all the series, so most games combos doesn't different a lot (except for the Tekken series)... Stick to those combos with effective startups (i.e. crouch medium or light kick, or jump in attacks), practice them in Training Mode (Not Challenge Mode!), and most important of course, have fun! P.S> Got a DeeJay who owned me absolutely 2 nights ago. His timing and attacking style was relentless. Plays as if he doesnt need to charge anything at all. The key of course is to hold the charge position (e.g. diagonal back down) during the execution of the previous command (e.g. jump kick, crouch medium kick + charge move means you press jump, *charge back down*, kick (while still in air), land and do your crouch (backwards) medium kick, then charge move). Basically its the timing of the execution.
Happens once in a while. Amazing characters are encountered (ref. my earlier post on DeeJays) which I look forward to as compared to those fireball spamming characters. I wish I can replace all the sound files of "hadoken" with mute...
^Thanks bro very helpful tips and now i know that ur supposed to chrage while doing the normal to link the combo very helpful.
What can I do against a Sagat spamming tiger cut and when I try an aerial he uses his high kick. This keep looping until I die. I'm using Guile.
The only way disconnecting is going to get fixed is if Capcom makes it so when you disconnect from an online game no matter the reason you take a loss. Not by me or you or 5 other people only taking losses because everyone who knows that disconnecting is free will still do it, that's the way people are.
