Yeah so basically you expect to get everything the $35 3DS version has in the iPhone version for as little as $0.99 right? And I never said iPhone is a simple phone, it's a smart phone, a convergence device. Fact is, I use it equally often for calling people, browsing, taking pics/video and getting in touch with my family. I know a lot of people who almost never play games on their iPhones and just use them for social stuffs like email and facebook, while my parents only use it for facetime. So you see, Just because you use it only for gaming doesn't mean everyone only uses it for gaming.
The ??? Achievement Does anyone knows how to unlock the "???" achievement in the game center for SFIV Volt ?
Oh? I always had an easier time jump-kicking Sagat than any other projectile character, or countering with long-reaching super/ultras. Maybe his arms are too long.
come on man, if you look over this thread, all you see is this argument over and over. yes, capcom couldve released it for free but they didnt, ok. but im guessing they made it 99c on launch for people like you who owned the original and didnt wanna pay full price for a few new features. but they gave us online multiplayer, which was completely unexpected. so stop hating on capcom. if u dont want online multiplayer and a few new characters (and potentially even more in future updates) just stick with sf4 and stop whining about how you expected the game to be console quality. it was 99c!
Try Dhalsim and his long distance attacks. Jumping punches combined with punches immediately upon landing work. Zangief has trouble even navigating around Dhalsim's standing punches. Throw in a few fireballs to keep him offguard. And obviously try to keep him out of reach. As far as favorite characters, I love Dhalsim, Honda, Guile and Sagat (to take out spamming Ryus and Kens). I don't have much experience with the newer characters.
Is there a current tier list out for this game? I just want to know how low down the ladder my main Zangief is
http://iplaywinner.com/news/2011/1/5/super-street-fighter-4-tier-list-january-2011.html There are some mechanics missing form the iphone version so obviously it would be a bit different, but that's a general guideline. Also, this must be from a different region or something, so "Boxer" is Balrog, "Claw" is Vega and "Dictator" is Bison. Zangief isn't too bad, but he gets eaten by Akuma, which you see pretty frequently online, so that probably gets annoying. I personally have a really hard time with him using Abel. Good players really abuse the green hand attack cos its so quick, and of course his throws and Super/Ultra are stupidly powerful.
It's not a different region, they keep them as boxer, claw, and dictator because when SF2 was initially released in Japan, Balrog is M. Bison, Vega is Balrog, and Bison is Vega. They are still named like that there, but boxer as M. Bison would cause legal issues here in America as Mike Bison is too close to Mike Tyson, so they decided to change the names around.
Forgot his name and didnt save player cards, usually just deleting them when I'm free. Let me guess, he has very good judgement of position, and uses blanka's fwd and back hop a lots. Other times, he just press heavy kick to kick you out of whatever you are doing. Plus that nasty slide which last for 3/4 screen and has good recovery time.
We should make a Toucharcade SFIV Volt tier list This is what I think. Please tell me if you disagree at all. Akuma Cammy Bison Zangief Sagat Ken Abel Ryu Honda Blanka Guile Dhalism Dee Jay Chun Li Balrog Vega Cody C.Viper That's just from personal experience I'm sure it's completely wrong, but we should refine it until we're all fairly happy with it.
C Viper is bottom of the list? Hmm. There's no tier list in this game that would accurately reflect the game. Akuma is GOD tier. That is something you can't really argue against. He's really just got an answer to everything and he can pull off combos so easily. The bottom of the list... Dhalsim can get bodied probably the easiest. That's not to say he sucks, but if you don't zone properly and the opponent gets in, it's neigh impossible to get them off without taking huge damage. I've used all the characters to great effect. There's no real weak link due to the SP assist and simplified controls. Things to note about tier lists: they assume that the players have EQUAL skill. Rarely will this ever happen, but more to the point, they really are generalizations that usually don't mean diddly squat. Pick a character you think is RAD and just rock with them. MY Tier list: GOD Akuma Top Everyone Else Mid N/A Bottom N/A
lol whenever anyone comes out with a tier list for any game there's ALWAYS people against it. C.Viper really isn't that great. She takes heaps of damage and her non-special moves aren't that powerful. Her thunder knuckle and burning kick or whatever are pretty good, and she can dish out damage pretty quick, but you really have to know what you're doing. Also seismic hammer is really easy to dodge. But yeah, I know what you mean. All the characters are pretty even, apart from Akuma, but it feels like characters who need to charge for special moves are a bit worse off than in the console version, purely because characters without the need can spam the crap out of special moves with the SP button (Akuma, Sagat, Gief) Still I respect your point of view, for most people they just choose the character they think is the coolest, or Ken, Ryu, Akuma. But I think it would be cool to see everyone's opinion of how all the characters stack up. Not at a tournament level like other tier lists, but just for above average online play. And you're right, dhalism should probably be lower. His teleport can easily be countered with Ken/Ryu/Sagat/Akumas uppercut, and heaps of other moves. I love grabbing him with falling sky when he tries to do that . Also he's just weak in general and his fireball is pathetic.
Yea, there's no denying that Akuma is above everyone. Here's what I think: Akuma Dhalsim Blanka Sagat Ryu Abel Guile Ken Zangief Cammy Bison Honda Balrog Dee Jay Chun Li Vega C.Viper Cody This is also solely based on personal experience against people online which is why Dhalsim and Blanka are rated so high for me since the ones I face are crazy confusing sometimes when they know what they are doing. I have yet to see a decent Cody or C.Viper.
Is there a point in keeping around the old SF:IV? Also, is it just me or is hard mode in volt a TON easier?
I don't think I've seen a single C.Viper, and all of the (3) Codys I've seen have tried to spam the rock throw lol. I'm thinking about guile at the moment. I've yet to see any online but he's actually really good. And Dhalsim is not that great. He feels really floaty to play as. He doesn't have any real approach options (his jump is really slow, giving the other player heaps of time to prepare and he can't follow his projectile in like Guile does because he's so darn slow) besides the teleport which can easily be punished if you react quickly. For example against a Ken he really has no chance. If he tries to keep him at a distance with his stretchy punch/fireball hes gonna lose out because Ken's fireball is so much better. Also he takes damage if his hands are hit which can get really annoying. If he tries to teleport in front or behind Ken then Ken's going to do that uppercut straight away. However you're absolutely right about Blanka, he can get really annoying. His EX Rolling Attack goes straight through projectiles. He's great at getting in quickly just doing some damage and then going back to a safe distance. Also his Ultra does stupid chip damage. After we've got a few more opinions I might rework the list, thanks for the post
