im not having too much trouble with all the kens and ryus, the main problem for me is akuma and zangief. you cant fadc akumas fireball cos it hits multiple times and if you get close to him he just dashes through you. i had a really good game today where i (abel) won the first round against an akuma. second round he just spammed and dashed through me if i got too close. also if you try to jump kick/punch he can just use his super or ultra, seems to be unblockable. third round he did the same thing until the time was almost up. when he dashed through i used my ultra, got him to lower health than me and then the time ran out so i won. then he disconnected lol. i shouldve known that he was going to though his win/loss was like 200/5. anyway whats everyones favourite character and why. i like abel cos he can roll through fireballs, hes pretty strong and hes spin kick is amazing. also his tornado throw is great.
Damn that's a sucky end to an otherwise epic story! I've been pretty partial to Sagat, Balrog, Cody playing online on iOS. Sagat for the easy to execute move set and quite some damage from just a lot of knees and uppercuts. Balrog and Cody I feel people expect less and maybe don't know so well how to go against ... but that hasn't panned out so great lol. I really like Cody's whirlwind fist move, but he just needs to get in too close for a number of opponents.
I like M.Bison because when he teleports, he makes a wahahahaha laugh which i enjoy a lot. Esp great when you use him and play against typical kens/ryus and laugh in their face... LOL!
abel is a bad matchup for gief, so you're gonna have a little trouble with that one. for the akuma, if he's in the corner, you gotta predict that he's going to teleport out, then sweep him as the move finishes. After you knock him down, go for a mix up with abel. His 3hit red fireball, just jump over, it has a longer start up time than his regular fireball. When he has super/ultra, just don't jump in on him, stay full screen and neutral jump the fireballs. eventually he'll get frustrated and come to you.
I play dhalsim. He can teleport out of bad situations and has a sweet air game. Also no one expects to see him.
Cool! The only problem with online play is that people uses Ken/Ryu/Akumas all the time. If only there are more variety... Met a Blanka that absolutely CRASHED ME, haha... Loved it...
I personally like Guile since he is a very technical character and its quite a challenge to master him in and out.
If your landing spot after jumping is not right next to him, you can attack akuma out of his ultra or super with a move that gets your attack hitbox further away from your grab hitbox, like sagat's jump kick for instance . Also you should have enough time to land and jump again if he doesn't ultra right next to your landing spot .
Most of the akumas I play get destroyed when i teleport around the firebals and the flying knee. The only problem I have against ken/ryu is that stupid flying fire punch. it kills my air game and limits my teleports.
Haha, I THINK I just met him... was his name sean_len? He owned me twice since I do best out of 3. Forgot to save the replays though to study it a little bit. I never ragequit, but playing him made it really tempting to hit the home button hahaha.

Also, i would give even 20 bucks for a DLC Juri , she is awesome in SFiVae
i'm still getting thrashed by Zangief even I use Chun Li I wonder where I did wrong kept a distance and use her leg to sweep or keep him away but i still got hit by the green hand and command grab all the time
i have no experience with chun li but OMG zangief is annoying. hes a slow character but that green hand thing comes out so quickly! i just try to keep him at a medium distance now and use lots of aerials, then quickly jump back out of grabbing range. easily the most annoying character for me (i main abel), followed by akuma
Sagat is easily the most annoying character for me, followed by Blanka (a good Blanka can finish you before you even know the fight has begun!).
