Hmmm, I don't think I've ever tried focusing a cannon spike, even in training, because I assumed it was similar to focucing Ken's SRK. I'll check it out in training. Thanks.

Makes me wish Cammy had her hard Spiral Arrow. Then she could FADC out of it.

Cannon spike will end up on the other side of the character though so focus attacking it isn't useful. Focus attacking dive kicks is very useful but the timing can be tricky as most Cammy's tend to immediately cannon spike afterwards. Hooligans can also be focused if they are going for the slide version but will get thrown if they go for the throw version.

Also, focusing on Cammy with an ultra isn't good. I think anytime you are in focus, an Cammy's ultra will hit 100% of the time (not enough time to backdash away).

You can FADC out of ex-spiral arrow. Wastes a ton of meter though :(

Now, now, now . . . Cammy doesn't need anymore tools. :D After some matches with Snooper the other night, I remembered how much of a beast she can be and wondered why she's not considered top tier. Just that damn cannon spike -> FADC -> cannon spike alone seems to do a boatload of damage. And she's so damn tough once she scores a knockdown. It doesn't help that just about ever one of her attacks knocks Dhalsim down. I did end up scoring one win against his Cammy but he may have been testing some new ideas out or something during that match.

You're jaded because you use Sim. Cammy is Zangief, Guile, and Balrogs little biotch so learn one of those and get your revenge. :D

She is definitely mid/low tier :(

This made me wonder, is there ever a good time to use Dhalsim's ultra against a Cammy with an ultra or super? Obviously whiffed cannon spikes are one option that works, but other than that I rarely see an opportunity to use it againt her since her ultra and super go right through it.

Oh yeah...Ken Ken uses it really well many times. AFter air teleporting, many Cammy's will try to spiral arrow for a quick hit. If you air teleport and land and you know they have a tendency to spiral arrow, you may be able to time it. Also, Cammy may try to jump, spin knuckle or ex-spiral arrow through a fireball...you may be able to time an ultra then too.

Haha. Yeah, I hear ya. I used to use Guile but am too out of practice. I do use Balrog these days but am still learning the matchup. Her spiral arrow makes it tough to charge.

In the end, I usually just stick with Sim out of pride against most Cammys. I have a ton of opponents switch to her immediately after one match (to the extent that people stick around for more than one, which is rare these days) so it's no secret that it's a good matchup for her. But many players don't know the best way to use her and I don't do too shabby against those players. That said, I still lose to more than I should.

Thanks for the advice. I've been using supers after air teleport attacks lately (not really against Cammy's though) so I'll try to squeeze ultras in more often against Cammy. I hate seeing it go to waste in most Cammy matches. In my experience though, I find her uppercut far more common than spiral arrows after my teleports. And I learned the hard way from Snooper that spear is not effective against her uppercut.

Its hard to judge your skill against Snooper cause he probably has the best Cammy there is so don't be too discouraged :) The hardest thing part of Cammy is trying to determine if she will throw or do an uppercut. General rule of thumb is that they will more likely uppercut if they have meter. Good luck. :D

The only time I use ultra is if I have the player trapped in the corner and I know they are panicking or she is jumping trying to catch me. Other then that, it would be wise not to use his ultra. Not with Cammy but with a lot of other characters as well. Sim has three ultra scenarios that I've experienced a lot when it comes down to the wire.

    1. It's clean. You catch them with your ultra and you finish it off with a super or just back away.
    2. You get hit while they jump towards you with a kick(and it always happens when you have a chip of life left) so you end up losing.
    3. You ultra and they ultra right after which let's them escape and you end up getting hit hard (Sagat)

Thanks. It's definitely encouraging knowing there aren't too many good Cammys out there. And hey . . . practice makes perfect I guess.

Yeah, dont jump at her :D The one thing i noticed in our matches is you would put yourself in the corner. Youre almost guaranteed to eat at least 1 uppercut trying to get out of the corner, so try not to put yourself there in the first place. Cammys super doesnt have enough invincibility to go through sims ultra, you might get hit once but because the fireball is so slow cammys hitbox will stillbe in the fireball when the invincibility runs out. Same thing with the ultra in some cases.

Im meeting some friends at the beach now, when I het back ill explain wht goes through my head after I knock sim down, its just a guessing game to be honest.

I actually have had really good luck using his ultra against Sagat. Most Sagats that ultra right after me take the worst of it since I don't use it as a desperation measure with very little life. I always take a hit but they typically end up taking the entire brunt of my ultra. I have a lot more trouble with Kens using this tactic, as well as a few other characters.

As for his ultra, I also like to use it as a distraction. Players generally focus on avoiding it so much that it leaves them open for other attacks. In some instances, I'll even use it to slow the match down and reset the action, which is usually a good thing for Dhalsim.

Yeah, the habits I build against bad Cammys absolutely kill me against good ones. Typically against the bad ones I move back and they follow without a full plan, allowing me to punish or escape pretty easy. With you, I always managed to lock myself in the corner and guarantee eating some damage. And then once I'm down it can be brutal unless I guess right.

I think I sometimes confuse Cammy's super and ultra since they seem so similar. Maybe I just assumed that her super makes it through. I'll keep these in mind when I sit down for a few matches tonight.

I really do wish Sim had one or two more options though. As I've mentioned before, I've never played SFIV before Volt (only SFII) so I never bother complaining about moves that were left out in the conversion to iOS, but I really like that long, fast low kick that I see a lot in videos of SFIV. Most of his moves are just so damn slow, especially in comparison to Cammy.

I just rage quit. I'll admit it.

I'm getting tired of Sagats who just exploit his power and don't have any real skill. I use Akuma and Sagat can beat me in just a few hits. Add in his rediculously huge range and speed and it's a tough match. I'm fine with tough, but I keep losing to guys who don't have any skill and just attack like crazy. They only have to land a few hits before I'm totally done and, like I said, with his speed and range, that's not hard to do.

The last guy to do it just pissed me off and I rage quit. Life goes on.

    I know that feel, bro.
In all seriousness though, try using their medicine against them or something. Or just play us TouchArcadians.

Ya, when I first started Volt I mained Akuma... when you actually had to unlock him lol.... my biggest issue were Sagats.. everytime I match up with one I think "Fagat" should be his name, although... now that I main Bison, Sagats are cake!
