I challenge Daigo to a match with this but he only has Motorola V3 so I won default.

There's actually a video or two of Daigo playing sf4 on the iOS.

Lol did anyone battle a bunch of people who basically just stood/crouched there for the entire battle and won't move until you attack? I battled a Chun-Li, Cammy, Ryu, and Ken who simply did that to waste time since I was using Honda who didn't have any ranged attacks. Their strategy was to uppercut if I jumped/headbutt/sumo slam/focus attack, so I was barely able to get close to them. Not unlike vanilla iPhone SF4's dojo match against a "defensive Guile". About as cheap as fireball spammers if you ask me.

Hmm, I see. Sounds like the game is just generally imbalanced, at least in some aspects. A shame. I've never managed to conciliate myself with Ruy's character and personality, and would by far prefer to play as Ken ;)

I think that was one of the reasons Focus Attacks were introduced into SF4; it was harder to get in close in the past, esp into low-kick-fireball walls (aside from parrying). there's always focus-dashback to fake them out too. presents a different sort of challenge.

Focus will get through a cannonspike/cannon drill, as well as ryu's SRK half the time. not sure what I would do against ken though. maybe lowkick-headbutts. or squats on his head.

I fought a Ken last night who behaved like that - it was very unnerving. I was expecting him to let slip the dogs of war in the second round, but it never happened.

Also, fought two people in Friendly games last night who must have lowered the handicap so much that they were knocked out with one hit. Not sure if it was a mistake or they just like a challenge...

Effective, though, by the sounds of it...

also, honda's standing kick is a pretty solid poke to back them into a corner.

For ryu'S last combo, just walk into them and hold towards, hit SP (still holding towards), them hit focus (still holding towards), then revenge. The revenge will whiff if you're at the edge of the screen though.

See if that helps you figure out the timing for akuma as well

I finally beat all the challenges too and OH MY GAWD is Honda's 8th Challenge a %@&$!(.

Another annoying one was Guile's 8th Challenge; I was stuck on it until I read the forums.

Also had trouble with Bison's 8th Challenge; pretty tough.

Now my next task is to collect all the Survival Icons.

Does anybody know how many rounds do you need to beat to get the Survival Icon for each character?

Akuma's 7 is similar to ryu's 8. Focus-cancel after two hits of the uppercut. Akuma's 8, you'll need to focus-cancel immediately after you launch the fb, and follow up w the punch.

I'm hearing it's either 50 online matches or 20 survival matches

I'm having immense trouble with Akuma's 8. Like you said I focus cancel immediately after the fireball, he glows yellow for a fraction of a second and I immediately tap on the punch button. He'll punch but it won't be recognized as a combo since there is a short gap between the focus cancel and the punch. He simply won't punch fast enough since his standing punch is rather slow compared to his kick.

Its a focus-dash so there shouldn't be a yellow flash. The timing is pretty tight, you almost need to wait a fraction of a second after the dashing stops before hitting standing punch. Work on fb-dashcancel-punch on its own first. Hit dash immediately after hitting SP, don't even wait for it. Tap-tap.

Same way as the console arcade, but slightly easier. Do your srk, touchhold focus, and tap forward while still holding down focus. Just a single tap towards in enough to focus-dash/cancel

Oo. So I went back and tried it. I kept getting the yellow flicker. My fault. Fireball, hold toward, hit focus, and youll dash. Wait a split second and follow w the standing punch. Work on fb-dashcancel first on it's own.
