Man, there really are some good replays on the Japanese server. Just watched a 3400 BP Balrog named kely1112 beast on a 4300 BP Sagat named szuid. Still have a lot of Dhalsims to run through too but I'm just kind of farming videos before returning to the US server.

 

i know this has already been done to death but I want to bring it up again:

1: How do I get on japanese server? Simply change the language on iPhone?

2: Does it erase my BP or profile info? Anything?

3: Can it be reverted just as easily without data loss?

Let me know. I'm curious

Change the in-game language, not your phone language! Inside the SF4 app settings. Nothing gets erased, no data loss and it can be reverted by switching the game language back to English.

Edit: And does anyone know how to change to the Japanese sound effects without changing the language. Pretty sure I've seen this mentioned here some time ago.

Damn, Im going to have to search more thoroughly too in those JP replays, I just found a Vega named jiiniior in a fight vs a Yun in the newest page....The best in close tactics ive ever seen! I wonder how badass Guile is over there....

Just to reiterate, this is all completely correct. It's suprisingly easy. You just have to remember all the button placements and then have to do some sort of registration process on the Japanese Battle Network (I think that's what that process was) but it doesn't affect your stats or anything.

I think that in order to change the sound effects you have to be jail broken. If you are, then I think it's fairly easy but I don't exactly remember the process (and I'm not jailbroken so I haven't done it).

I was just thinking that I should have recorded the 10 match clinic TenOnez ran on me. That's some great stuff.

 

There is a great Balrog mirror between keiy1112 and David Guetta --) (both around 3700 BPs). There are also at least two great replays of Davit Guetta --) against a 4300 BP Bison named nak_ace!!.

 

I know man.. I think i recorded the worst of our three or four fights. I sat there dumb on the other ones when i shouldve saved.

 

I don't think your phone has to be jailbroken to achieve this. I haven't done this, but I think I may be familiar with the process.
First, you need to be able to access the game sound files. This can be done in many ways. Just Google it.
Both Japanese and English sounds for each characters are provided.
Simply rename the Japanese sound files to those of the English ones.
Also be sure to backup those files that are being altered.
