I know! I didn't take it personally. It happened like that sometimes when I was playing Guile. I double sweep at them, they block the first hit, and stand up the next. But when they did it multiple times in a row, it just felt very confusing. :/
Okay good, just wanted to make sure. Sometimes *I've* tried to get away after the first hit, and I PLAY the dang character! It's a pressure move and while I don't think it being nerfed is a huge deal, I don't really understand what's so difficult to grasp about it or why it's considered so "overpowered."
I feel the same way. When I feel like my game its off I play the solo player arcade mode on grueling for 7 rounds, if I can't win without continuing I don't play online.
I just played a mirror match against a 2995bp Makoto. I took him close in the second round, but a matchup with a 2500bp difference feels a bit bizarre... Still, I lost 1bp.
I tried focusing pre-1.03 in training mode, trying to figure some way out of the blasted thing, and definitely did NOT work. I just tried in 1.03, and you can focus between the hits now, not a problem.
If you mean use the FA to absorb the first sweep and hit Guile before he uses the second kick, or to absorb the second sweep and counter without blocking the first sweep, then yes.
It's been a while since I've faced off against a Vega. It was refreshing compared to facing all these shotos. I didn't know Vega had such a good corner pressure until you showed it to me and perfected me? haha. There needs to be some distance in between both of you if you want to focus. If they do a jump in -> double sweep, he'll be too close and the FA comes out too slow and you get hit by the second sweep.
Good game shoryutofu! Still tense with your zangief and abel! The psycho-tactic of us is awesome! always guess what each other do! lol
I thought mestre7 was talking about focusing (absorbing) the second hit. So yes, in 1.03, you can block the first sweep, and then focus/absorb the second hit. I would imagine on a jump-in as fffan7777 suggested, it would likely depend on the block-stun on the jump-in attack and whether or not you could even focus in time for the first hit of the sweep. But definitely after blocking the first sweep, you can focus/absorb the second.
haha....just lucky only. Your abel and Zangief are the best i met actually. Dun know why can't hug your abel when i wake up and always end up being hugged by you!
I thought I was good at psyching people out, but you're just a notch above me. sigh. Oh and Abel has highest grab priority, so he can out grab everything you can toss out including supers and ultras. -_- Still you managed to lock my Abel down pretty good. Edit: Good Games fffan. Wow, they really nurf Bison a lot. It feels like his kicks do not have as much priority any more including the head stomps. I don't remember being able to trade hits with headstomps before. At least not as easily as now
Good games Shoryutofu. Dat Zangief... way too scary. It feels even more of an uphill battle now going against you. The cr.lk have been nerfed -10 going 40-30. So a common BnB of 3xcr.lk->knee/crusher ends up doing -40-50. Only thing that I gained from 1.03 is the ability to hit a crouched opponent on the reverse. Everything else is harder now with some links that are tighter than before too. Oh, and the reverse, you can lariat it just like when you do it with my jump-ins. Cyrus does it to me. Tips to make you even scarier haha. Well, at least when you see other Bisons sticking to that strategy, you won't feel like you have to take the chip damage. The first match we had was really chill and then we weren't sure what matches we were doing and it seemed like you got super serious on the next matches. I was like "man, this guy will not hold one ounce back when he brings out his Zangief" and you sure didn't. Top 15 has 4 toucharcade members! Vaceotyn beasting with 4k!
You can have back step once you guess the rival would like to have headstomps. If you succeed, the rival would just stand in front of you. Usually if the bison crouch long for charging, i think he is likely to have the headstomp especially when I wake up.
Thanks for the tip! For some reason I can't get serious until after a few matches or after a few loses. I guess I've trained myself to take the game lightly too well. Your Bison was still tough though. I think the patch really did affected your game.
It's a better habit than me. If I'm up 1-0 in a match, I'll relax a little knowing that I'm ahead by 1 round, and there are times people get their comebacks. I'll still stick with Bison regardless of how he is now. Most of the matchups are the same, I just gotta evolve my strategy a little more so one day the Bison-Zangief between you and I is at least even.
