I'm thinking this would be an awesome idea, we have a ton of people here who specialize in one or two characters who would know their match ups really well. I think doing it on the forum itself though wouldn't work because if it gets too many comments it will be too hard to find the specific character someone is looking for. If anyone is interested in calling dibs on doing a write up for a specific character, just pm me that way we can get it moving I think it could be pretty awesome. I only play Fei so if no one objects I'd like to do the write up for him. Anyone is welcome to call the other characters or help me with their own tips for Fei just let me know.
I call Yun, if you don't mind, although I need some help with matchup opinions. Lets add an area at the end that details useful combos in the guides, because I think it would work well.
Sweet I was hoping you'd join in Snoop you really know the Cammy match ups better than anyone on here, I've decided that I'm just going to do it on a public Tumblr account and on the homepage the first post will have the link to whichever page has the individual guide for that character. It's free/easy to use/and I can manage it without worrying about it being filled with comments from people. O-Felix Yun is yours man I've never played you I don't believe but I know people have said you've played him for awhile now so I'm assuming you know your stuff. Snooper I think you should focus on making Cammy's guide as in depth as possible and if no one jumps on the others than take them up but one at a time I suppose.
sure no problem. whoever makes the thread should make a post for every character, and then people can post after that, then the owner of the thread could put the notes for that character in the earlier post, if that makes sense. and how about each character has a section for basics, combos, matchups and setups/mixups? Edit: ok just read volos post, ignore what i said. i think we should still put it into those 4 sections though.
Haha that's what I set up the email for just shoot anything you have over to that and I'll add it, I don't want it to be user based just because I don't want to have people add incorrect info or flame the posts. People who call specific characters though I'll send you the log in and password through PM once I get it all set up that way you can work right through the site and any email I get I'll send to that characters mod specifically.
Im telling you Snooper, write a fat strategy guide and make some cash... I could do a section on combos for Guile or something, maybe collab with the other Guile users here..
I have to agree with you on everything you said about Sim mirrors! I am, in fact, not very good at it either. I played you first thing in the morning - on my bed and needed to go to work in 1.5 hours. I lucked out both sets. To punish my teleport, I noticed you went for an Ultra and missed. I would only use Ultra when I am absolutely desperate. You should know Super is a safe for punishing teleport, right? I turtled out and didn't teleport in at the end simply because you had a Super. About teleporting after your opponent's teleport - we do air teleport 9/10 times in mirror matches. When Dhalsim reappears after teleport, he will be right away limited to ONE option - attack in the air. If you time it right, it's almost a guarantee hit for you. Also, if you can air teleport to the other Dhalsim after he landed on the ground after his air teleport, you can stay in his face and put him on block - the scariest thing to any Dhalsim player! Again, timing and "feel" when to teleport, play with a clear mind and think ahead of your opponent! But, don't concentrate on the teleports or you will miss all the heavenly glory - Bruce Lee's martial arts wisdom is still very much applicable today! Most of the time, it's a coin toss unless the other Dhalsim player guessed right on every of your teleports and landed every bread n butter combo. I have had one of those! urgh!
I'm going to continue working on the Yun guide tomorrow. I got some stuff down, although I classified it as private for the moment.
Once again vaceotyn good games! I was hoping to play you ten rounds so we could see who was better though. I think we are pretty evenly matched. I had to change up my strategy because I became too predictable but what I really needed to do was more cancels especially my forward roll, you just kept punishing it and I kept using it like a noob!
Finally played TenOnez (I think that's it?) that you guys were talking about earlier. His Balrog whipped me pretty cleanly twice. I tried to click "rematch" but hit exit instead because it was so damn cold (German mornings ftw). Sent him a msg, hope we get more games in soon.
How would everyone rank themselves in this game? Think about the best players you've played against and what their BP was, then think about what your overall grade would be. I'll start. I only play one character and that's blanka, I'd put my true BP score at 2300-2400, for my grade I'd say I'm a B maybe a B+. players like tenonez would be an A (an A+ if we knew how he did against other top tier players), I'd put kenken as an A player (just for reference).
