We really have been! I'd dare say that this is pretty much the hub for SF4V info and matches! Is your GC ID the same as your name here? Id like to add you and get some matches in sometime... Taking a break is actually a good idea, forced or not. And like someone else said, learning a new character isn't a bad idea either! Far as your burnt hand goes, put some mustard on the burn and let it dry before you wipe it off. Something about the mustard seed stops burns from hurting like hell after the fact. I used to work in the kitchen at a restaurant so I can definitely confirm this works. The sooner yr back at SF, the better! Btw, how many of you play any of the other SF games like SF Collection or SF3 on MAME?
Oh OK didn't realise, I was just scrolling through characters, must have used half the cast lol. Next time we met we can run a Chun v Blanka set best of 3 or something. Isn't it just...Ov3rheadgreg, 0shinakuma0, Yogaflame24 all when I should be revising lol. No contest, white everytime.
White it is. To be honest i dont really like any of the alternate colours apart from abels. They really shouldve given yun his red one so you could pretend to be kazunoko, and fei long and sagats white ones so you could be mago...
DoctaMario and Cyrus814 you both added me recently, next time I'm on I'll try and get some matches going with you guys.
Thanks, but I doubt that I'll ever be as good as some of the people on here. I seem to be cursed with being good in most games I play, but not excellent.
How so? Edit: So I was doing some experimenting with viper, and in the corner, this combo is really effective. Jump Kick/Jump Punch/Focus Attack, Crouching Hard Punch, EX Seismic Hammer, Heavy Thunder Knuckle, Burst Time. 619 damage with Jump Punch I know, but I forget the other damages.
First I would like to say, GG with everyone I played in the forum. I constantly have a hard time playing against good dahlsim players. Any advice or videos where I can see some volt match ups ? I main honda but also play geif and guile. Thanks.
Petez, here is the viedo by my matches with some good dahlism http://youtu.be/fHWu3_5vEqc http://youtu.be/nc5JQEaMDUQ
Ken Ken, Good games man. My wife asked me to move some stuff around so I had to run but I'll be up for some more matches in a few if you're still around. I generally hate Dhalsim mirrors but really enjoyed those ones. I've actually been losing more than I should lately in mirror matches, even against players that don't know much more than jump teleport attacks. I think my timing has been a bit off but it was encouraging to hold my own against your Dhalsim. I actually missed an ultra in the first round of our first match to counter one of your teleports but that happens to everyone. Edit: Just got your message about teleporting after my opponent. For some reason I just haven't been timing those right lately, probably because I'm such a creature of habit and teleport at the same spots as I'm used to too often despite knowing I shouldn't. Thanks for the tip. On your end, I noticed that you don't use instant air teleports much, if at all. Is that just a preference? I find them extremely useful against most opponents.
Fantastic videos. I see, you basically try to stay in his face the whole time. Catch him coming in and out of teleport, you try to lariat him as he is teleporting in? I do have a hard time when he is across the screen and he yoga flames. If I jump over it, he kicks me or if I block he teleports to the other side of he and hits me with a combo. Which way do you block when he does that strategy? I notice when u jump with geif, you typically use the body splash rather then kick. Is there an advantage to this? Thanks for the help, Pete
Good games Pete. Out of those characters, I'd say that Honda is probably your best option, but Guile is a good option if you can play him very aggressively. I find that Honda is better suited to punish air teleports better than Guile (Guile's only real option is flash kick and maybe his standing punch but that's not consistent enough). Once you score a knockdown, stay extremely aggressive and mix it up so Dhalsim doesn't know what's coming next. And obviously if you get him in the corner, do everything you can to keep him there. At best, his teleport will only get him right behind you and you can do an easy throw back into the corner. I also posted about the Blanka-Dhalsim matchup a few pages ago.
Body splash is much better than kick and will often trade hits. In other scenarios, it will hit Dhalsim as he tries to jump away without attacking. See the video back on page 640 for tips on how to block Dhalsim's mixups.
