So although we discussed his garbage tier ranking I am really enjoying playing Yun. I treat him like I would treat Rufus on the console version, break someone open with constant dive kick pressure and once you do land a decent damage combo and a knock down and go back in for the mix up. I played like 50 friendlies last night and the only ones I lost were against Iggwins and Squall2002 (It doesn't hurt as much losing to TA members) my scrubby Yun didn't stand a chance against his godly Sagat. I managed to beat his Ryu with my Fei and his Sagat once with my Fei and it was all downhill from there I beleive after all the random times we bumped into each other it ended up being like 3-12 or something like that. Anyways I've found Genie Jin combos that I'm comfortable with at any place on the screen hopefully I can duplicate them in an actual match, and I have a few BNB's that I use for block strings or to apply pressure and keep the opponent nervous so they make mistakes.
I bought this game, thinking " What the hell only .99 cents" Easily one of the best fighting and multiplayer games on iOS. Just phenomenal, ranks up there with Modern combat 3, Dead space, COD zombies. I can't believe how good this game is.
Sure beats the hell out of a cola or plain hamburger, eh? When I imagine the utility I've gotten from this, and compare to what I normally spend $1 on, I cry.
had some fun with sagat in the training room, damage output is great. easy to combo into super and ultra and tiger knee with lk is something. just ex fb sometimes is registered as a tiger knee but that's ok. but then played with bison and maybe he is not that good but much more fun. so i still stick with him.
Yup, the last time we played, out of the 20 matches, I only won 3 hahaha. I think we'll do that for character variety. Once more people sign up and it's almost ready to go, I'll create a thread with the rules in it. For those that don't have a team, don't worry since you will be grouping up later, but if you have someone in mind that you want to be teamed up with, just put that down on the form. There's 15 people signed up so far. It would be nice to have 40... not gonna happen though ...
Yes, unbelievable for a buck. I would have spent 10 bucks on this game. The solo, training and multiplayer aspects, make this one of the best games ever on iOS. Definately a hidden gem a lot of people overlook.
GG Mikkel Love bison mirror matches. Taste of my own medicine Wish I could play more characters like u. As you can probably tell I'm horrible with pretty much anybody else lol
i really wished they made the ultra and super moves without shortcuts because it is just ridiculous how such dmg can be done just by simply tapping at one spot, especially because charge chars do not have such possibility. and honestly i am really tired playing vs all turtles, just played vs almost 5k player and what he makes, presses f back button.
No, this is the most useful thing. It's awesome to use Ultra and Super moves in this way, touch screen commands of this game are perfect! The only way to improve this fantastic game is to introduce rival match videos and more characters.
Turtling seems like just another trend to me. I'm sure it will pass like the others, partially because it's not fun to turtle and partially because people will figure it out sooner than later. That's the great thing about this game . . . there's a counter strategy for every strategy out there. Personally, I focus on getting a lead against turtles, even a tiny one, and then I make them come to me. This always gives the majority problems because they're out of practice as far as actually having to go on the offensive. As for Ultras and Supers, I can't complain. I likely wouldn't still be playing the game, and assume the same is true for many others, if I had to try to do full moves on the touch screen. It's hard enough with a real joystick. Hell, even now I still occasionally just flat out miss a button because of the touch screen and this has cost me a few matches.
If they keep their "one update per month" thing going, we'll have some bugfixes and the like instead of new characters. :/ And on the Volt website, they accidentally put "iPod Touch 4S" instead of iPhone 4S. And they don't have Fei Long and Yun on the site in the characters section. But of course, that is irrelevant.
lol, a lot of them still wait even with less health and that's the most f up part, also if it's friendlies so it is just not fun.
Yeah, in ranked I have enough patience to wait them out. Not so much in friendlies. But I really just don't see it that much, although it's definitely becoming more popular. I see a lot of Ryus and Guiles doing it against my Dhalsim. In ranked matches I can be very methodical and patient but in friendlies I typically just go right after them. Both strategies work to varying degrees, depending on the skill level of my opponent. Weird to see it from really high BP opponents though. I recently played a really good opponent in a random friendly match. I don't remember his name or BP level, but he was higher than me in BP so probably close to 3k. The first match was pretty good. I can't remember who he was in that one but I think he won. In the second he switched to Sagat or Ryu and literally just kept hitting the SP button (fireball). I jumped like 30 of them straight just to see if he'd do anything else. I eventually just quit on him since it was only a friendly and I wanted to voice my boredom (against a normal opponent, I will typically put my phone down and walk away rather than quit a match, even in friendlies).
The last update was 26 october, so we can expect another update at the end of November. Updates were released 2 August, 15 September and 26 October(this one, only bugfixes, non new chars). So maybe we can hope Capcom is going to release a new update in November
Well I thought I was getting decent with Yun until Snooper just destroyed me. *Sigh* Back to training I go.
Im up for some more games, just had some breakfast I think they were the first yun mirrors in the history of volt lol. So a few tips. At fullscreen, just spam palm. It builds so much meter. Nuetral jump more. Learn the range where different characters dps will whiff if you nuetral jump. Its really hard to react to yuns divekicks, especially if you mix up the timing. So just neutral jump outside that range to bait dps or divekick in to start your offense. And if youre about to lose, dont do a genei jin, do ex lunge. Its +1 on block so you get a free high/low/throw/dp mixup, plus it links into ultra. And with characters that have bad anti air (chun li) go absoloutley nuts with the divekicks, whats she gonna do?
