It's not really lag, it's just slower compared to the previous SF4. The movement, the walking / jumping speed, etc. If you have SF4 you can compare it side by side. Sometimes they run at a similar speed but most of the times SF4V is slower.
I gave him the benefit of the doubt, probably got a call, a text and bad connection. After the third trial, never again.
My son and I tried to play some matches together via bluetooth and the performance was pretty horrendous. We had WiFi off (actually airplane mode, with Bluetooth on). Has anyone else tried it and had good performance? I'm hoping there's some way to get it to perform well. As it stands it wasn't much fun. Terribly laggy, just like my two online experiences.
How did you get paired against him again though? I've only met the same person twice and the rest is pretty random.. What devices do you and your son use? edit: just saw you have a 3GS, what about your son?
Finally, got Akuma unlock with 100 online battles wait a minute, hey I only played 98 online games with lot of disconnected games plus 3 or 4 friendly matches... not sure it is a bug or what. anyway, I made it!
Hrm, that's really weird, is it just that AI that can't recover from a hit? I don't remember being able to chain any hit into Akuma's Ultra since it's a grab move. Seems like I can go from kick into ultra vs AI regularly. EDIT: Nvm, just tried in training with jumping AI. Damn, grueling AI needs to be improved.
my longest streak only around 20+ matches, then I lose couple matches..but somehow it didn't reset to 0 and keep increasing, haha~ ok I take it then. bugs?!
I couldn't resist the price even though I didn't really rate IV and found the controls very tricky to pull off I refuse to use the SP (cheat button) but I played my first arcade round with Ken there and I found I was pulling off moves a lot easier than the first (still not everytime but better) I managed to complete it and beat Akuma without losing a round. All in all I haven't tried online play yet but I actually think it works a lot better than the first IV. Another quick question is there any benifet to keeping the first IV on my Ipod now is it supposed to unlock something because I don't see anything.
After opening Bolt, I opened the original and there was a "comic" button with a story of the characters. I don't know if the comic came with Bolt or with the update. I was also granted many cards with drawings of Street Fighter and such...
Damn, so many Daigos online. It's easy to win, but you have to play equally stupid with standard anti-spam (focus, cancel, jump kick, jab, jab, throw etc). Bleh, and you rarely get a win. I see what you mean. But I still think getting rid of SP assist would help quite a bit. Not even Daigo has 100% combos at his disposal. On the other hand, unlocking Akuma has gotten me back to watching old lordofultima videos on YT again...
Just worked out that it gives the IAP for the first one free which is pretty stupid as they were pathetic attempts at DLC anyway so I've just went ahead and deleted IV I'd rather have the space back. I can't see anyone keeping both on their device as their basicly the same game and I'm sure capcom knew this. That being said Volt is definitely an improvement but isn't really much more than an small update of the first.
Yes small update 3 new character and online play does not a new game make at most this should be a DLC to the original. I know they've priced it as such for one single day but when you get down to it it's the same game they are trying to sell twice. Whats next Resident Evil 4 Volt.
Pricing model reaches out to more people; check the top 25 apps. Oh wait, you don't have to, it's #1. That gives it far more publicity, and is a great idea from a publicity viewpoint. Vanilla SF4 never hit top 3, even at launch. No one who paid for SFIV (which was on sale countless times in the past month in preparation for Volt) is paying full price for Volt; I don't see where the "sell twice" argument comes from. I guess everything with a sequel is trying to "sell twice". Original game had 8 characters, later expanded to 13 or whatever. Point is, all of that was FREE. Those were "updates". Taking that out of the equation, you're looking at more than double the characters and an entirely new game mode that more than doubles the play length (let's not forget the few side "minigame card thing", but that's worthless so whatever). In fact, wifi battle was the most requested feature by far, and I guess all those "I'd gladly pay $20 for wifi" really caught on huh? Except Capcom charged 5% of that -- a buck. Most of us kept wishing it, but never thought it'd become reality because of all the difficulties of a port like this; and when it became reality? Bitching. Whining. More bitching. But you're paying 1/20th what you would've... more bitching. The ones bitching are the same ones who would've "gladly paid 0.99 for DLC chars". Well, you got 3 of them. And more. For less. Furthermore, if there are [free] updates (which you'd be smart not to bet against) to this game, what of it? Should we just keep milking the same $5 we spent 2 years ago? The gift that keeps on giving? Everything should be free? New game broski. Just like Fifa 12. And Fifa 13. And Fifa 14. And Super Street Fighter IV.
Original was £6.99 when I bought it hardly free and frankly pretty rubbish. Volt is a slight improvement but there no way I could recomend to someone with IV to spend £6.99 on volt it just doesn't improve that much. I'd recomend them to buy it now while it's still in DLC type price range but when it hits £6.99 anyone with the original would have to be crazy to buy it.
Doesn't matter if you'd recommend it, it'd still sell. Economic models are meant to be economic... and profitable. It will be. People will bite the bullet; the allure of Wi-Fi play is pretty great. Makes perfect sense from their perspective. Maybe if EA can come up with a proper MK to offer some sort of competition... or God forbid, Gameloft, then you might see things change for the better for the consumers, but probably not. Gameloft isn't really about "gameplay", as much as it is porting something popular that "resembles" the original game. And EA is the biggest profit whore in the business.
Is Karosokno here? If yes, please accept my apology. He was starting out with very few matches record and he beat me on the first round. I won the second round and before my ultra finishes, a low-batt popup appears and I got disconnected... ARGGGHHH!!! I'm so pisseddd!!! Feels like a real coward And now I have 3 dcs out of 20.. 2 for sms, 1 for low-batt. I know we should've played in airplane mode, but it's my phone! Capcom's first priority: fixing text/battery/alert popup so it won't DC players.
