Yea makotos standing kick is really sick because you can cancel it into specials. Makotos standing punch has such a good hitbox though. It beats anything gief can do except ex spd im pretty sure. Maybe super and ultra as well.

How big are the teams, and could we do it by region?

NA / Europe / Asia etc.

[Do we have enough players for that?]

Also, can this tourny take place *after* Skyrim is completed and/or after Adon is released? [no clue when that will be :D]

We'd just consider Oz to be part of the UK that broke off and floated away.

Is anybody here even from the UK? I think iggwins is but thats it... I guess we kind of need an 'other' team for those of us scattered around the globe :p na i still think team captains would be better, the teams would be more fair.

Haha the problem with that is we have odd balls like Snooper who main Cammy while no one else in their right mind would.:p So character based teams wouldn't really work.

I say we do it high school style assign like four team captians, for example

    FFFan
    DoctaMario
    Nullroar
    Snooper

Then have the first two and the last two play each other and then have the winners and losers face each other for picking order.

    Example:

    Round 1...

    FFFan Vs Docta Winner: FFFan

Nullroar Vs Snoop Dawg Winner: Snoop

    Second round:

    FFFan Vs Snoop Winner: Snoop

    Nullroar Vs Docta Winner: Docta

The picking order would then go
    1.) Snooper
    2.) FFFan
    3.) Docta
    4.) Nullroar

After that's done just line us up and pick us.

well, it could be just minor tournament and mister snooper mains sagat too, so there are enough sagat players, he can also train bison or gief. ;)

it would be a bit unfair, fffan777 wins and picks shory, gl everyone. and from your example it seems like you have not played vs nullroar.

I'm spending all my free time playing Skyrim instead of staying sharp for the current tournament. :D
    I'm so going to lose!

Another option which I had suggested previously is a tourney where each participant has to play three different characters in a best of three setup like we have now. It just adds an extra wrinkle and rewards players that are more diverse.

Good games to you too Docta.

Yeah, I really love playing Guile and would main him (I did way back in the arcades on SFII) but I tend to lose more than I'd like with him against fireballers and keep-away styles (e.g., Akuma, Sagat). Based on the players I see online, I went with Dhalsim who I always liked playing with as well. But the tide is changing a bit online and I'm seeing a ton of Blankas, Cammys, etc.

As for Dhalsim, man my play has been horrible lately. In our matchups I just couldn't play patient like I would in a ranked match. It's very hard for me to play patient against very defensive/keep-away styles unless there's something on the line (i.e., ranked matches). I've tried to work on that but no luck so far. Anyway, yeah I may try the crouching punch a little more often, although if I connect the jumping punch correctly the follow-up standing punch should be unblockable. It's just that I'm getting slow. I don't know what's the matter with me but I'm missing buttons and slowing down in my inputs a lot lately. That happened in our first Bison/Guile matchup. You took the first round and I had a chance to win the second but I sat there crouching while you floated safely to the ground inches in front of me. I think I just totally whiffed on my FK and we ended up trading low jabs and you went on to win. Man that was frustrating. I've got to get back on the ball or something.

As for your Guile, I think the only area you needed improvement was following in your SBs too predictably. I love following them in on players, but depending on my opponent I always make sure to mix up a LOT (backhand punch, standing kick, double sweep or throw). I also make sure to throw in a bait move once in awhile (walking up and then doing a low block at the last second) against characters that can punish (Guile, Ken, Akuma, Sagat, Fei, etc.). That allows me to punish their whiffed punish.

Anyway, good games again. I look forward to trying to get my revenge with Dhalsim. :)

you are lucky guys, would like to play skyrim too, i played arena, daggerfall, battlespire (the best one in my opinion) and of course morrowind and oblivion, but already almost two years i am done with pc gaming because of too much css and other stuff and stay "sober", iphone gaming is like a small substitution. ;)

Cammys pretty weak, but shes so much fun. I started playing her because dhalsim and akuma were just too annoying for my cody :p

But I like to change up who I play so Id be happy to fill a gap somewhere if we end up having a character based tournament.
