Dang, Nully almost handed you a loss in that Blanka match! ;D Haven't gotten around to watching all of them yet, but the ones I have were excellent! Looking forward to the rest! What did you use, Display Recorder? Hehe! I play worse when I drink cuz I just take way too many risks.
Somebody from TA challenged me last night, then he quit during the first round and never came back. I play worse because I miss the onscreen buttons a lot.
It's psxsquall on GC. He owns me on the rematch with Blanka. I had no answer to what he was doing. I use DisplayRecorder. For some reason, mine seems to be the only one that lags every once in a while in every single video. Wish I had a clean device with just DisplayRecorder to at least test things and really know what the problem is.
I use DisplayRecorder on Portrait Mode, and that seems to be lag-free. I do rotation during post-editing. If I record in Landscape mode, it's plenty choppy. I'm on an iPod 4Gen. Framerate Maxed Lock Framerate Off Rotation Portrait Video Format MJPEG Video Quality Low OpenGL Capture On Grayscape Off Scale Full Show Taps hidden
Yea, I also rotate the video afterwards. I'll try recording with your settings and see how it goes. Edit: so I checked my settings, the only thing that's different is the framerate where i leave it around 1/3 - 1/2 because I noticed that the higher the framerate, the choppier the video becomes for me. Not choppy as in framerate, but choppy for like 1-2 seconds where the device is just doing something else (maybe writing itself to the harddrive from the temp data?).
haha that was me my dad told me to get off my ipod and do some homework haha. ill send you an invite tonight around the same time
Here's a few questions for people. I have had a ton of trouble lately beating Giefs with Guile. Any tips? Is my only real options to just turtle like crazy? I hate playing that way but can't come up with anything else that works against decent Giefs. Also, any general tips on using Chun Li? I'm starting to really get into her (also may start dabbling with Viper) and she is really good. And since I"m talking Chun Li, how is her matchup 4-6 with Dhalsim? Getting whooped by really good Chun Li's as Dhalsim is the only reason I started using her again (did a little way back in SFII days). I haven't been able to come up with a good answer for her because she's just so deceptively quick and that kick of hers is crazy.
I actually like fighting Zangief. My strategy is basically just hit and run. Hang around at all you'll pay for it. Most of them like to jump to help get in closer. When they do, just move closer and nail them with an uppercut or something else anti-air. I've also found mixing up attacks to keep them trying to counter works well. For instance, do hit and run a bunch, then when he gets used to it, get bold and throw him or something similar. You have to react to what he's doing, though; you can't just follow a formula. Keeping a Zangief confused with ambiguity is usually your best bet. They tend to be suckers for Akuma's airborne throw. They can't really counter arial moves well, but if they block you'll pay for it immediately. With moves like that airborne throw, they can't block it. Their only option is to jump out of the way, which can set them up for something else. That spinning green fist thing is a poor offensive move and can be countered easily. Despite how fast it is, it takes them a moment to come out of it and leaves them wide open for an uppercut or whatever. Also, make him come to you. Attacking a lot will make him just block then counter with something ungodly. He's most dangerous when he's blocking and countering your moves. Let him come to you, but just make sure to hit him first. You can't counter a pile driver I'm proof this strategy works. My Akuma will often lose a round to Zangief after only two moves (one of those generally being a super), but I still normally win against him.
Against Guile, just get a life lead and turtle your ass off. There's really nothing he can do to get in. But if he gets the life lead on you, it'll be tougher on you if his defense is solid. But not as tough as it would be for him. Far as Chunny is concerned, Mooken will have some good tips!
Ok, so I just tried framerate lock ON and lowering the framerate works well. Not sure if the device locks up for you guys if the framerate is maxed because mine does and I have to restart it.
What's up guys. Love the thread! Tofu's Honda headbutt tip/pics was awesome Anywho I need massive help against cammy's spike. I cannot for the life of me Counter it. I block low but have nothing. I always eat the following throw/Dps. I main Bison. Low 2k player. Thanks guys.
Thanks fr the responses guys. Will respond later. Docta, I'll probably be up for some matches in a bit if you're still around. Gotta eat first.
After a block, you can either do 4 things: 1. psycho crusher 2. double knee 3. standing kick 4. super/ultra If you know that the spike is coming, then you can FA, dash forward and do a combo. Test it out in the training room and see which move you can most consistently land.
Thanks man. Im going with stnd kick. The window is too small for me to pull anything else. Add a bit of lag and I'm left in block animation for too long. Honda out. Just need to learn cammy and sagat. I literrally crumble at the vs screen.
Does anyone else here have an iphone 3GS without a Sim Card? i.e. using it wifi only? bebo_beta2002 is having some issues -- 4.3.3 , 3GS, SF4V 1.05 he can get automatched friendlies just fine, but can't seem to get a gamecenter invite. he can send out invites (and I receive them) but it's stuck on "connecting". conversely, he doesn't seem to receive my invites. airplane mode off, wifi on, notifications for gamecenter on, location services on. thoughts, anyone?
Which move are you talking about, the dive kick, the uppercut or the spiral arrow (the one similar to bisons slide). If they do divekicks low enough to the ground cammy will actually be at a frame advantage. If she does it from high up though just throw her. The uppercut can be punished by just about anything, like ryus or kens. The spiral arrow can be punished by anything if done close but if she does it from far enough away its completely safe, so just block low and tech the throw if she walks right up next to you. Add me for some games if you want.
Am I the only one who doesnt understand why Guiles target combo isnt used more? Seriously, its awesome. Doesnt do huge damage but Ive been playing online with him and nobody has blocked it yet And it starts from a really quick low attack with decent range...
Its low medium (or maybe light im not sure) kick to overhead (forward + punch). To block it they have to block loe then high. Its good because people dont expect it because guile cant do his overhead by itself so they wont even think to block high. id probably main guile if he had his back + light kick, hes too much of a turtle without it.
