Teleport is really punishable, you almost never see top players use it apart from avoiding chip from fireballs and doing ambiguous ultra setups. Dont ragequit on people cos you havent bothered to learn how to counter their strategy.

That's not the case, though. I mean he wouldn't get near me. I could win against him, but that's not my concern. I even nailed him a few times with ultras and supers (Akuma) as he teleported.

My problem is it's boring as all hell. What he was doing wasn't even fighting. When people use 100% defense, it's not a fight. I don't care if I win or lose as long as I'm fighting. If he cowers the entire match and runs away constantly, I don't care if I win every round, I won't play him again.

This "run away until your opponent gets bored and screws up" tactic seems to be catching on and it's ruining the game for me.

Really, really good hitbox. Also it makes it really hard for some characters to anti air him cos his whole body moves to a different position. Na it cant cant cross up but the priority is just ridiculous.

Yeah, it's true. I don't use it as often as I probably should, but the times I do use it, it's super effective. I.e., jump back punch vs. vega's wall dive.

Im just saying, if he teleports away from you then good, he's putting himself in the corner. If he teleports right infront of you or behind, uppercut.

100% defense is a strategy. Do you want dhalsim ro rush you down? People aren't gonna say,'People don't like it when I play keepaway, Ill just stop doing it'. A ragequit is a ragequit (i've ragequit a few times in the past to be honest, but not anymore), whether you think that they're doing is 'boring' or 'not even fighting' is beside the point.

Just played a ~2000bp guile. Lost the first game w/ my Sagat because I was way too aggressive, then rematched w/ my Fei because the connection was really good. He won the next two, and then in the 3rd match, last round - I pull off the max damage combo FTW - counter hit him on his sonic boom with EX chicken wing, flame kick, FADC, chicken wing, ultra. Needed every last pixel of damage too. He insta quit, I felt good about my Fei Long for the first time.

Learned another trick vs. Guile w/ Fei - backdashing to bait out the double sweep and then punishing with rekkas.

No, it's not. I don't mean guys who sit back then counter. I mean guys who just refuse to fight. I've fought many, many people who run to corner and won't even counter attack. Usually it's an Akuma who throws fireballs and runs away. He throws them to keep his opponent at bay, but he won't do a real attack. That makes the match go on and on. It's an easy win, but it's painful to sit through. Of course they'll attack eventually, but it's not nearly enough to count as trying.

That defensive approach is great for Dalsim, but he needs to attack eventually. I don't know why people do it, but it's a pain in the ass. Often, when i try standing around until they come to me, nothing happens. It seriously becomes a contest of who gets bored first. I'll usually win those matches because they don't do anything to harm me, but it's soooooooo damn boring.

There's definitely a fine line between a defensive player and one that's just running away. It lies somewhere between 3/4 and full screen, I think. ;)

No offense but you shouldn't be proud of what you did. It seems to me you got bested and you gave up by calling it "boring". I always get beat up and loose cheaply but I don't RQ. I let the match finish finish first and decline for a second match.

I was actually winning, but, after what seemed like half an hour, I got fed up.

Normally, in that kind of situation I'd just put the phone down and wait for the clock to run out or for them grow a set and finish the match. But, I've had a ton of those matches recently and I was just tired of it.

You're only saying this because you use such tactics.

If you don't respond to a match request right away, what happens to it? Does it just go away?

Their matching can be so stupid sometimes. I let my BP slip, so I started requesting to be matched with "more skilled" players and suddenly they're matching me with only 0-200 BP players.

Some days (with "same skill" chosen) it'll suddenly start matching me with people with 0-200 or 3000+ and no in between.
