arrrrrg did i get robbed by lag against a 3700 bp japanese dhalism player - he is down to one pixel of life, i've got like 45% or so. I just start walking back because I know he's gotta teleport to get in. Sure enough, he teleports behind - i mash tiger uppercut BUT IT DOESNT COME OUT. Instead i get kick, low kick, yoga flame, super and eat all that damage. But I'm still alive. He teleports to me and ultras - which is a total mistake, because I can tiger uppercut on wakeup and it will go right through and hit him in the face. BUT NO! LAG KICKS IN AGAIN - the uppercut doesn't come out and i eat the ultra, dead. Total bullshit. I can't even send him a salty message because he probably doesn't speak english.
Hahaha! Yeah I've had a few laggy matches today and it sucks when you know what you have to do to win but the controls just won't allow you to do it. Btw, I'm gonna be looking for a few matches in another 2 &1/2 hours or so if anyone wants to play.
BleBla, Thanks for the matches. Had to run for a bit. Youve got a solid 'Gief. I hate playing against him with anyone but my Dhalsim. But it's fun (sometimes ... Lol) trying to improve my Guile (and a few other characters) enough to try to take him out. We'll have to play again sometime.
Yea, we should play more often. I definitely need to practice against Dhalsims but I barely find one through friendly. Anyways, good matches we had Feel free to invite me anytime
yea i usually dont do that many dps, its just that you werent really punishing them so i was like meh might as well just do it. sagat cant really punish cammys dp that hard unless they know how to kara so if i see that the sagat player likes to throw out heaps of tiger knees or low medium kicks ill actually throw out alot of dps. if it hits i get 140 damage and a knockdown, if its blocked i eat tiger shot for like 80 damage, definitley worth the risk. cammys dp straight out loses to sagats though, so i cant just dp focus like i can on some characters. so funny when you just walk up and dp them in the face on their wakeup, theyre like wtf? if it hits fadc for another dp if its blocked then throw but yea those matches arent too great, but the one against that other sagat was pretty good, guessed right quite a few times. the dhalsim match was fun too
Great games Jibba! I really enjoyed the Guile mirrors! I just got back into using Ken so I still feel kinda awkward using him in this game hehe! Your Sim was on point as always!
Did some lousy quality videos: 1) Akuma 2) Cammy 3) Vega (2 parts) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=76LamKqN2h8 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lHKOCSu27os http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zhKJMa5tZ-Q http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EK5Hcle1t7o
That Vega is pretty horrible. No Cosmic Heels... No EX-FBA's, no cross up wall dives... Just got ate up by Bison and didn't have an answer for anything. I don't know why Vega seems so unpopular, or at least, not popular here on TA. Having gone back to play SFII with my beloved classic Vega (who is a cheap character, but what can ya do?), it's just really increased my ability with him and my belief that he can be devastating if used right. A wall dive can be frustrating because if your opponent jumps it nets you a lovely Izuna Drop the majority of the time. If you've passed up Vega for whatever reason, he really is worth revisiting and giving a second chance too.
well i dunno guys really need to understand what kind of character to main so it would be helpful if you guys tell me the characters you main and why? Me: i main mostly shoto caractars such as ryu, ken and akuma because they are pretty simple characters. my BP (not Blood Pressure mind you ) has been pretty low lately due to me messing around with other characters such as C.viper, Sagat, Abel etc... any info will help
Vega's a very high risk character in this game and if the opponent knows the matchup, he'll get eaten for breakfast. His Super is pretty situational and hard to make good use of, though he seems to have a pretty good Ultra. One of his main sources of damage in SFII was his suplex and that's been nerfed both damage wise and range wise. His normals seem like a series of pokes that don't really have a lot of combo possibilities but this part is just me talking out my ass based on my limited time with him.
I get really annoying playing this late at night. Almost 100% of the people I face play nonstop defense and/or only use special moves. The matches go on and on and on and on and it's boring as hell. For some reason, at night they all jump to the opposite side of the screen right away. Then instead of fighting me, they just fight to stay on that side of the screen where I can't reach them. WTF is that? That's not even a fight. The ones that do fight just use all SP. If I'm lucky I'll see a jump kick or a throw. During the day, I don't have these problems. Edit: I forgot the few who don't use all SP. Instead: ankle kick ankle kick ankle kick ankle kick ankle kick ankle kick ankle kick ankle kick ankle kick ankle kick ankle kick ankle kick ankle kick ankle kick ankle kick ankle kick ankle kick
ROUND SIX of the Round Robin Tourney IS UP! I said this in the other thread, but there are some potentially exciting matches this round and I'm really hoping people will upload replays so we can all see said great matches in action!
cr.k-rollingclaw tends to be reasonably safe, and jumpkick-cr.k-rolling seems to work, with cross-up at that. EX_rolling goes through projectiles I believe. The most common whiffed SRK-punish seems to be flying kick->flipkick. Aside from that, yes, a lot of claw-pokes (df.P), pretty boss on its range. Definitely worth saving Super bars for EX barca drops/flying claws. His foot speed is great for running in and grabbing. Sliding kick gets good distance, haven't tested its safeness on block. backflip and double backflip has some good uses, I imagine, followed by df.P for a poke back. wall-claw can be ducked under, but if they're airborne, opponent's getting hit. he's viable, but definitely need to mix up the different sides of the walls, and keep mixing up the ranges. the few ppl that use him online tend to be excellent with him.
He's only high risk if you make him high risk. His main source of damage in SFII is the same as it is in SF4, not the suplex, but in his wall dive cross ups. He was considered such a cheap character because one knock down and it became at 50/50 chance that the opponent would block the next wall dive properly; if they don't, it's game over. Play with wall diving. Vega can really screw with opponents mind. It serves multiple purposes. Not the least of which is escaping (especially from the big red Russian bear fighter). Ex-FBA goes through projectiles and will spell doom for most shotos. Guile is a little riskier because of the quick recovery on the 'Booms but if you anticipate it right he's toast. He's got massive range on his pokes, which again, are only risky if you make them risky. Seriously, Vega is untapped, and if you're searching for something new he's worth experimenting with.
my primary character is C.Viper and i always happy if i meet Ken,Ryu,Akuma or Sagat....because C.Viper is best character for shoto characters...but sometime i lose when against shoto characters but thats because and especially someone who uses Ryu,he just waiting for me he dont want to forward...just waiting for my mistake...and Akuma,I had an interesting experience with Akuma...he only uses hadoken, jump and hadoken, after that he go away from me ... when I approached him again go back away ... I think this is not a fighting game but rather like a scene in the movie "Catch Me If You Can"...he pissed me of but fortunately i can win after 3time lose... but sometime i lose because laggy and pure i cant defeat them
More Poor Quality Videos here: 1) Mooken vs. Mikkel1977 (Bison vs. Bison). This was one of the games I'd save coz it was so funny. He got ultra twice in both rounds. Damn unlucky coz he was doing a crouch kick only the 2nd time he got Ultra-ed... ... *Friendly waves to Mooken* http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MO4C0Vqea0o 2) Bison vs. Ryu http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FeZ1bhdhLsk Quite a good fight back against a turtling Ryu... 3) This is an epic funny (in my opinion) round. Ryu did 3 moves in total (a tatsu, crouch kick, and SRK), with the last being fatal (watch 88 sec)... Everytime I watch this, I turn up the volume so that Ryu will go: *Shrooooooooyoken!* [OOPS].... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y-AsLaq-2qA
