link? and ill upload my replays vs ken.ken and drqqa. the matches i had with drqqa (i think thats his name, sorry if its not dude) are really good, some of the best ive ever had. we had 8 matches and he won 5, but i only saved the three i won theyll be up in like half an hour.
I think it's in my 1st post in reply to your KenKen discussion. Edited it so maybe u didn't catch it the first time round. Dhalsim teleports. Bison teleports. Slams dhalsim. Lol... Look carefully at my health during round 1 ending... Page 466 post 4652
he also makes all these shotos think about using fbs and all what you have said too. also he is kinda cool. nice video with dhalsim, i think he was a bit confused too. and that is how bison plays.
So I've been using Blanka and E. Honda as my main characters, and I find that they aren't working very well for me anymore. A lot of people say that Bison is excellent so I was wondering if someone could provide me with tips for him? And on a secondary note, I was playing Blanka against Grueling Bison in Arcade mode and I just had to do that backstep diagonal roll attack and he'd keep jumping into it.
My advice, dont play bison. We already have like 4 on this thread. But if you want advice mikkel and fffan777 are the guys to ask. And mikkels online now I think. Blanka is an alright character, but honda is a beast. Id suggest staying with honda, and choosing someone else who does well against his bad matchups (basically fireball characters and fei long) as a secondary. Balrog and abel are solid anti fireball choices, and abel beats fei long too imo. I can give you a shit ton of abel and balrog advice if you want, I actually used balrog a fair bit and ive mained abel most of the time. Your choice though.
videos are uploading, will post links tomorrow, gonna let them run overnight as theres quite a few. goodnight everybody
Alright, well, some Balrog help would be nice. Sometimes it feels awesome to play him. It's a shame that his Headbutt, Ultra combo is sort of hard to get off with lag.

so the thing with headbutt - ultra is you have to move your charge to back as soon as you press sp. not as soon as the headbutt comes out, as soon as you press sp. otherwise the ultra wont have long enough to charge. remeber to hold kick for the first hit of ultra, let go of kick for the second hit (it should whiff) and then hold kick for the rest. after the ultra do a dash punch while theyre down to get more meter standard combos are. jumping punch-crouching light kick-dash straight. you could also use jumping kick, but jumping punch reaches a tiny bit further. the reason i didnt use any light punches is because you want your standard jump ins to go high-low so even if they block the jump in high they have to straight away block low, and crouching light punch hits mid. dash straight because its the most damaging and its safe, except against some really fast supers like chun lis, ryus and some others, ill test it. jumping punch-crouching light kick-ex dash upper-crouching light punch-crouching light kick-dash straight. basically the same combo, just a bit more damage with 1 meter. dash over head-sweep/light kick-dash straight. if you do the overhead right next to them you can do a light kick, otherwise it wont reach. you can always sweep after over head. works with ex overhead too ex dash upper-crouching light kick-dash straight. this and ex overhead are your long range options. for any of these combos you can switch in a headbutt for dash straight so you can ultra, or do a super after dash straight. i dont recommend super though, meter is better used for ex dash punches. basic game plan is stay mid-close range. throw out his sweep alot, its really good and will catch people off guard all the time. standing jab pressure is good, do 1 or 2, walk forward, do another 2, walk forward throw. long range you can do a high low mix up with dash over head or dash low. if they have good pokes (bison, chun li, sagat) or a fireball its probably a good idea to do ex, just watch out for armor breakers, especially that tiger knee. but basically just poke them out. lots of sweeps, lots of throws, dobt jump in TOO often. dash straight for chip and pressure. mux up dash overhead and low. if you want to combo into ultra best options are ex overhead-cr lk-headbutt-ultra. you can always do cr lk after ex overhead unlike regular overhead. or jumping punch-cr lk-headbutt ultra.only use your super if it will win you the round or put you in a very comftarble lead, but not against fireball characters. turn around punch is bad, be careful when using it. if you dont have charge cr hard punch is good for anti air. jumping punch is VERY good for air to air. also dont be afraid to lose your charge, youre not guile. balrog is mainly an offensive/footsie character but you can lame it out if you need to. learn what characters can punish dash straight with super/ultra. and abuse that sweep til they send you hatemail thats about all i can think of atm
Do we have 4 Bisons here already? I know Fffan uses him, although I haven't had a chance to play with him yet. I suggest Blanka. He's green, mean, and he loves mummy! Actually Blanka can be cool. Useful against shotos and his slides surprises a lot of pple. I dun recall u use standing kick much (the one where greeny does a somersault). Do u know a well timed one can knock Honda out of his headbutt? Also use more fwd and back hops with crouch punch or slide when people wanna attack u. Your back hop is faster than back dash I think, and maybe has a few frame or invincibility (needs expert confirmation here). Actually after Bison, I can use Greenie quite decently too. His cross overs are effective and his jump punch will beat Bison's jump kick, usually. Oh did I mention Greenie has electricity? It's like Bison's psycho power. It's cool.
Actually regardless of who u choose, a good way (for myself really) is to go to training room and practice all your bread and butter combos until u are very familiar with it. Then fire up CPU on hard or even grueling and keep attacking the CPU until he has zero health after your continuous non stop barrage of attacks. Use a variety of attacks. When u manage to do that, ya, most beginners or intermediate players cannot adjust to your attacks and matches will be over usually by the 80 sec mark.
Oh Felix, I recalled, u tend to spam Greenies Ultra too often. Not necessary in my humble opinion. And his SC bars are better off using as EX rolls I think. And u need to anti air with his down SP esp against my Bison's jump ins.
As Blanka you can do a lot of damage to Dhalsim players and most shotos / fireball spammers. Blanka falters when up against Honda, Gief (Greenhand is a free knockdown on Blanka ball), and Guile. Guile will rip you apart. Bison is not my favorite match as Blanka either. You can't afford input lag when you are trying to time a vertical blanka ball to catch a bison headstomp from full screen - the window for a hit is very small.
Awesome fight you had there man, congratulations for the victory on the first round, quite fun to watch
Great match Mikkel, nice job! I notice that you use your teleports really well, whereas most Bison's I've fought rarely seem to make use of it at all. Good stuff!
Ah, Bison and Dhalsim... Two very tough match ups for me. Its nice to see them beat each other up instead.
