hey i need some tips for akuma, trying to learn him. not combo wise, i can do all his combos. just gameplan wise. i go too aggressive and eat a few blanka balls/spds/shoryukens which isnt good with such low health.

also moves can he/cant he punish, can you stuff reversals with air fireball, stuff like that.

also i found a sick ghetto combo into super with him. so anything into hurricane kick eg. demon flip-dive kick-low medium kick-hurricane kick. and then low jab. that makes the opponent flip backwards.then walk forward and super as soon as theyre on their feet. they can only escape it if they jump before you super. doesnt work with ultra because of the slower startup. did it online twice to the same guy but then he caught on :D

aggressive jump-ins with fireballs (after the apex of your jumps) is the way I tend to play him. manages to stuff a lot of SRKs and other reversals. if they decide to block, then you have your usual cr.k->fb to create room and do it again, or grab, or overhead hit, or flame ball. if the fireball hits, the world's your oyster for combos.

even neutral jumps with fireballs after the apex work well, combo-able after you land.

3/4s screen you can use the flying-up-slidey-kick for punish fireballs, or even to play mix-ups if they're expecting yet another air fireball.

you can use overhead fake-out and kara-cancel into super.

punish jump-in-kicks with the revenge. connects super easy, esp if they're going for a head or deep jump kick.

EX air fireball's nice to hover and escape otherwise nasty traps.

his crossup jp.k has a painfully small attack box.

double roundhouse-SRK seems to be the more consistent whiff-punish, the double rh - p - hurricane - SRK has too tight of a link b/w double rh-p.

lmk if you want a mirror match.

Yea, long time I don't fight Cammy. That ending was insane, 1 more chip damage from your ultra and I'd fall.

I really really don't know how to punish or avoid that air grab, all I can do is banishing flat, but I have to predict your move.

    Anyways, good games :)

nice matches xcool. the fei cammy matchup seems a liitle bit in feis favour imo. its hard for her to get in but if she does she has more options. divekick beats throw tech, throw beats block etc. but we should definitley play again, i havent got much fei experience at all :D

Trying to be clever like that is a good way to get your ass handed to you. I love fighting people think focus attacks when you're down or constant teleporting is a good plan. They give me lots of BP.

Only use his supers when you KNOW it will connect, like when they're airborn. If you do it as they're getting up, they can easily counter, or at least dodge it.

Lots of people like to play keep away with him, but that's useless against anybody good. It just makes the fight take forever and gives you no real advantage.

He's a great defensive character and can counter just about anything if you do it right.

Jumping fireballs followed by a leg sweep or a jumping throw (no clue what its called) is a great attack to throw into the mix as they're blocking. It helps keep the othe guy paranoid and gives you a chance to corner him and lay into him.

not sure who else uses Cody, but just found out that EX Zonk Knuckle - FADC - Ultra connects. used to be that i would wait for jump-ins and ruffian-FADC-Ultra, with a chance of whiffing.

now he's real dangerous with 3 bars of super. ZonkKn seems to build meter quick, gets one bar per 6.1 empty ZonkKn.

Yea, I'm gonna try Cody, he seems to be a pretty solid character and unlike Balrog he can survive a 200ms lag.

Balrog with 200ms lag is impossible to link an ultra after headbutt, sometimes I lose matches just because of that, miss the ultra and get a full ultra afterwards.

    Good games SoulBlade.
Not sure why the last few games got laggy after the first few ran perfectly.

On my lazy quest to at least achieve all character win titles, before I finally head online, I just ran through the game with Dhalsim. The Yoga Yoda being one of the original characters I can remember from playing SFII on my Super Nintendo, I haven't even so much as attempted a single fight with Dhalsim, until now.

And boy, never has completing Arcade mode been so exceedingly easy. With proper zoning and spacing (a simple downwards jump stretch-punch followed up by a standing heavy stretch-punch was enough to keep any enemy at a distance, and had I been monotonous enough, that would have been enough to win me every fight on any difficulty, that Akuma fella not included), and some judicious use of yoga-balls and teleports, I was playing around with the AI in a manner I can't even do with Yun, my current favourite and most comfortable character.

So, now I am curious: is Dhalsim anywhere near as good in the multiplayer environment? I imagine he would be less affected by lag than Yun, but perhaps that holds true for just about every character in the game ;)

Yes, Dhalsim is a great character for multiplayer and unfortunately Yun is broken.

You have a really good viper. I probably could have won the last round if I didn't get hasty and jumped in.

Thanks. I'm guessing Yun won't be less broken any time soon, if Capcom implements the massive nerf from SSFIV: AE in Volt.
