thx man your Fei Long is great...my weakness is to aggressive i dont like defense... btw i found someone who use C.Viper too and more deadly than Vaceotyn and maybe me i guess...lol
I'd say it's a 5/5 matchup, 6/4 Akuma at least, just because if Akuma makes one mistake, that's pretty much it as long as Gief can keep it together.
Somebody has been sending me angry messages all day because i beat him. He thinks it's because I used Akuma, when it's actually because he sucks and only attempts "clever" cheap attacks that are super predictable. The messages are actually pretty entertaining. I really hope he's a member of this forum.
Mooken - good games. Sorry for splitting but I have to go and take care of my barking puppy before I get evicted.
I agree with everything Nullroar said. A decent DeeJay could just play keep away with fireball and follow up with double kick could easily beat my gief. Bison requires a bit more skill, but anyone who uses teleports to escape and time standing kick would be enough to make it extremely hard to win. I also want to add that Viper is a tough fight for Gief too. Viper has a lot of options on her wake up and as long as she keeps mixing in her flame kicks and thunder knuckles, and play it safe, she be just fine. I can just barely keep up with Vaceotyn's Viper, but Yyakusho's Viper completely picked my gief apart.
Thanks for the help! I found that my Yun skills went up a bit after reading this. Didn't have any idea about using the Flip Grab after a Dive Kick. Once again, thanks!
So I just played a ranked match and the strangest thing happened. As soon as I chose my character but before the Vs. screen I got a GC friend request from KRSONN. The message in the GC request said "Keep the fight clean. " Sure enough, when I got to the Vs. screen my opponent was KRSONN. Is this a jailbreak hack? There's no harm in it but it's weird. I checked after beating him (he did not quit) and his card said "Repeating moves is cheating."
WTF? I would LOVE if they incorporated chat into this game, even if it's simplistic. Or gamecenter in general, for that matter. Hope they do it soon.
Did it take a little while to pick his character/select stage? If it did, then he ran SF4 in the background, opened GC with the recent players and sent the message, then reopened SF4 again to keep playing.
I wasn't paying much attention but I didnt really notice anything out of the ordinary. I still have his friend request. Considering rejecting and sending him my own asking him how he did that. I assumed he set it up to do it automatically but I could be wrong.
I'm sure he has the msg copied, so he just had to paste it on the friend request. With enough practice, it could take as little as 10 secs. Edit: You can even go to GC when the game goes into the black screen saying "Now Loading..." and see the opponent's name. So it could be done even faster.
What are you veteran Street Fighters' opinion on Yun in Volt? I've taken quite a liking to his fighting style, his quick movement and long jumps, Zenpou Tenshin, and Genei Jin, but I find myself loosing far more often than with my previous favourite, the far less innovative Ken.
I use Yun a lot because I want to have fun, but you shouldn't if you want to win a lot online. He's got low stamina, so if you make ONE mistake, you're going to be eating a lot of damage. Yun is Easymode in AE, but in Volt he's extremely hard to use. Especially online where there's lag, because Yun lives or dies by his execution and even a tiny bit of lag can cause a GJ combo to drop or what not. Damage scaling means the awesomely fun to execute 30 hit GJ combos are going to do relatively little damage. Most character when you mash out a Super, you're either guaranteed huge damage or some chip damage. With Yun, it's all down to you being able to effectively combo his GJ, and again, with lag, that's a tall order. He's not an easy character to win with, that's for sure. But he's super fun to play as.
Really? What's his name? I have been seeing a few good Viper players in the last week or so. Edit: and about that guy sending a message before the match started, he probably did it from a second device connected to the same GC account. Wouldn't the game disconnect if he backgrounded the SF4 app and went to the GC app?
There's true backgrounding tweak with a jailbroken device where the app doesn't even know that you opened up another app. Forgot to mention jailbroken on my first post.
Less than it ought to be, in this case Hmm... I foresee many a loss for me, then. I tend to go where the fun is. But if I understand you correctly, it sounds like that in the few cases where neither lag nor touch screen controls mar the usage of Yun, he is pretty durned good. I can always hope for that perfect moment
Thanks... I've been playing Fei Long on Friendly Matches recently. It teaches me patience so I don't just rush in but wait and punish. If I lose, I'll get Ken out of the bag for a rematch. Oh, I guess you must have read my Ken's play style after the 1st match?
yea, just make sure you dont do it too often. the key with yun is to keep mixing it up. Glad to help though. and remember, the divekicks HAVE to hit below the waist.
