@yyhakusho, Great matches mate. Your Viper is slippery and gave me a really tough time. It took me quite a few lost before I could figure you out. @Nullroar, Not a problem. Those matches were fun, but you pick a good time to leave. I gotta get ready for a dinner party. Just when it was getting good... lol.
@shoryu alright man we'll finish it later. Gotta go anyhow @fffan damnit, I have to go, you win the set - gotta go walk the puppy and it looks like I'll have to wait to fight mooken later. Good games, man. You demolished me too many times to count. @RenRen_13 (are you even reading this?) that was the most epic counter-pick fest earlier today of all time. Epic.
Haha, my big fail to end one of the matches was teleporting into your ultra. You demolished me just as much. gg.
Cool SoulBlade thanks for the fights. You won those last ones but you coulda owned me hard with Fei if you didnt second guess those triple punches. Sagat has some hard hits!
I know. Didn't expect them to land. I was just applying pressure. Btw- was that the first time I landed that fadc combo on you with fei? You got better. I thought my Fei could beat your Guile.
I think so, i dont remember a fight with you that you used it at all. Im ok with Guile when Im on, I hope so because hes the only one i ever use at all. I dont have shit with Ryu anymore, heh. I need to mix it up more, Guile Isnt very good taking on some characters.

Anyone have any tips for Yun and Balrog? I've been trying to get into them, however what I've been doing with them seems to be only half-successful.
i wrote a long thing for yun a while ago, that should get you started if you wanna search the thread for it. maybe 30 pages back. balrog im trying to learn too, so i dont have many tips for him. Edit: found it So I played Yun for a while, he's alright, but not even nearly as good as in AE. Your bnb combo is divekick-low medium punch X2-up kicks. Remember to make sure the divekick hits them below the waist, or you wont be able to do that combo. But your main goal should be to land divekicks and mix it up from there. Your options after a blocked divekick are command grab, upkicks, lunge punch and low light kicks. If you land the light kicks then combo into upkicks or lunge if you want them in the corner. If you land the command grab then back+kick-shoulder-lunge punch is your max damage combo. Dash punch and upkicks are riskier but if you see that they like to jump or backdah away then it might work. If you dive kick-low light kick and its blocked then finish with a shoulder, its safe on block and you get chip. Another good approach option is EX lunge punch, cos its safe on block (+1 actually), so you can do the same mixups. Max damage midscreen focus crumple combo is ex palm-shoulder-lunge punch. In the corner its palm-back+kick-lunge. On some characters you can focus-backdash-palm-shoulder-lunge. His super is really good, but dont not use EX moves just for the super, in fact i spend most of my meter on EX lunge. It can be comboed into from shoulder. So Divekick-low medium punch-shoulder-super is a really easy and effective way to do it. Once the super is activated do another shoulder. Then do forward+kick until theyre in the corner (you have to do a lunge aswell for this to work, hard to explain, just go to training mode). When theyre there do plam-fowards+kick-palm etc. I like to finish with back+kick-jump-divekick so that theyre forced to stand and then go for the command grab. Yuns ultra. Its fairly low damage but easy to hit. EX lunge combos into it, palm in the corner combos into it and shoulder-super combos into it. One thing to note is that even though you can use the ultra near the start or the end of the super, its better to use it at the start because of damage scaling. After the ultra you can do a lunge punch for extra damage. However if you comboed into the ultra by using EX lunge then you cant for some reason, instead you can EX shoulder. In summary, upkicks are awesome. Theyre really good as an anti air and combo ender, and can be hard to punish. Dont save your meter for just super, but if you have it, use it. Abuse divekicks against characters without good anti air. Abuse EX lunge, always. Abuse palm on their wake up or full screen for building meter. Abuse standing kick for poking. Make sure the abused divekicks hit below the waist. Abuse shoulder, its free chip. And abuse his in air kick for air to air. And remember, no meat buns, no life. Good luck Edit: Oh and doing neutral jumps and then divekicking is really good. Firstly because if they SRK early then you can punish. Secondly, its easier to line up your divekicks to make sure they hit below the waist. Thirdly, if you do this alot near the start of the match, they assume that youre gonna do it every time. So sometimes just nuetral jump and do nothing. Nemo does that alot in the video i posted below (its yang, but its the same concept).
Haha I was delaying the roll, thinking "Oh awesome, I just lost this round, I might as well delay the inevitable." Every now and again the same thing happens to me. I remember playing a blanka as Sagat. He did his ultra, I did a low-block, but for some reason my input had me jumping forward into it. Like 3 seconds into his stationary ultra. I didn't press a thing. What's really frustrating is those headstomps on my wakeup after a sweep. You got me every single time. I mashed ex vertical roll on wakeup every time. I got the ground thunder BS every time. That's what worst part about Blanka : ( Truly sick games though.
Updated the tier list again, seperated it into 4 tiers. I think this represents the overall balance a bit better.
Some tier-list suggestions after spending a lot of time playing as (and against) Gief: I severely overestimated the efficacy of Sagat vs Zangief. Sagat would still have an advantage, I believe, but it's not any more overwhelming than Bison's high kick. A good Zangief can do a forward jump punch and trade and/or medium punch to punish a whiffed kick. Sagat has almost no way to escape once Zangief gets in. I'd say Dhalsim vs. Gief is actually a tougher matchup for than Sagat vs. Gief, although it's not impossible. Also, I think Bison vs Gief is slightly in Bison's favor. Chun Li vs Gief and Dee Jay vs Gief seem to be uphill battles for the Giefster - for Deejay, simply throw sonic slashes and follow up with a double kick (can't be punished) or a sliding sweep if they block high. You have an invincible EX jackknife that can punish most overhead crossup attempts on wakeup. As far as Chun Li, her sweep is simply excellent against Gief, as is her forward somersault overhead, her EX spinning bird against jumpins (works on almost any crossup) and her slow/fast normal and ex-fireballs which make jumping much tougher. I like to alternate between sweep-punishing banishing flats and non-empty jumps with fireballs and somersault kicks. Blocking low against sweeps leaves you vulnerable to an overhead somersault. One final note: Zangief vs Akuma is almost impossible to judge. 1 good SPD and full ultra will take out an Akuma, and it's hard to judge a matchup based on the "likelihood" of an opponent making a single mistake, or playing perfectly. Blanka I'm still messing around with. I really, REALLY wish his ultra were better.
