good games fffan7, nice use of ex psycho crusher, i never realised how much invincibility it has. and i couldve sworn that cammys ultra punishes headstomp, lost me that last round :( same deal with psycho crusher, i thought super could punish it

had to leave cos of lag, well have some games later? my brothers downloading some torrents and i need to figure out how to punish moves, so ill hit up the training room :D

Yea, gg. One move that counter the ex psycho crusher well is Sagat's Tiger Knee. Both characters end up falling and I think the trade on damage is pretty equal. There's a lot more that counter the ex psycho crusher, but Sagat's knee is the main one that sticks out in my mind since it happens so often.

There's not many moves that can counter the headstomp after it's blocked. Psycho crusher though, your ultras would've hit me if they were done 1 frame earlier:p. Lost a round by missing an execution of ex psycho crusher; instead, I did a ex knee press and you ultra'd me haha. There was another time where the lag spike kicked in at the right time on my wake up ex crusher and all I did was walk forward and eat the final hit.

hmmmmmm. so is ex psycho crusher punishable by shoryuken/cannon spike/cammys supee or ultra/other moves that come out quickly?

I don't really know actually. You can try things out in the training mode. Its first frame is invincible, then anything goes after that.

There's 4 things that just stand out when I throw out an ex crusher:
    1. it connects and the opponent gets knocked down
    2. it gets blocked and I get punished
    3. it misses because the opponent jumped over me
    4. Sagat and I both fall down simultaneously

Other than those 4 situations, I don't remember much...

Edit: So I went into training mode and try some of the things you listed
Ryu's SRK: if hit at the correct 1 frame, it punishes the ex crusher. If it's 1 frame too early, both moves will whiff. 1 frame too late, and it won't come out.
Ken's SRK: easily punished by ex crusher.
Akuma's SRK: there's 1 frame where both characters trade damage, but Akuma ends up taking more damage.
Cammy's Cannon Spike: either both characters whiff or end up missing; in all exchanges, Bison comes out unpunished, not the same case for Cammy though.

As for Sagat's knee, it's only an even exchange if there's some space in between both characters. Up close, Sagat gets punished.

I have no tried it against their EX counterparts nor any Supers/Ultras.

he plays rushdown style too, same as you, would be interesting to see the replays. however good that his yun is not as good as ryu, lol. loosing a lot vs him brings me back to the same f question of proper wakeup game and the fact that ryu can crossup really good. anyway it is interesting experience because usually ryu players have different gameplay style. ;)

Zangrief and lariats work perfectly vs ex psycho crusher, probably because it is a projectile move.

    Life as Blanka is miserable.

Is Sagat god tier, or is God Sagat tier?

dude how do you know youre any good if you cant play people online.....saying u can all die 1 by 1 is just gonna make u look stupid if you lose. but with the firewall, i remember with modern combat sandstorm that some people just couldnt play online because of the type of router they had. google some stuff maybe, im not an expert with type of thing

Pretty much assumed that. Squeaky wheel antagonizes the grease.

Anyhow, It could definitely be the wifi.

Try uninstalling the game and then doing a full reinstall.

Also, Try looking deeper into your router connection. I'd try playing online in another wifi zone - a friend's wifi, maybe even a mobile wifi hub via someone's phone.

Yeah, I definitely enjoyed them. I was really caught off guard by your Guile since I'm so used to Guiles relying heavily on Flash Kicks against Dhalsim (since they connect against Dhalsim's long air punches). Because of that tendency, I'm so used to baiting the Flash Kicks by jumping in and teleporting back at the last minute. Instead, you kept catching me with the air throws. Your double sweeps also caught me off guard. I guess that's an underused move for most Guiles, even myself.

That draw drove me nuts. I felt like I had that round since I had a nice lead and you were very low on health. I may have gotten sloppy and you took full advantage to pull out the draw and the 2nd round wasn't all that close (IIRC).

As for Guile, I would probably use him as my main (as I did in SFII) but contant matchups against Akuma and Sagat finally convinced me to switch to Dhalsim, who was always my second option. Although I have some luck against those characters with Guile, they're just frustrating matches and it's just not as much fun constantly dodging fireballs. Dhalsim, on the other hand, confuses them, especially the weaker ones that rely almost solely on fireballs.

Also, I noticed that a couple posters here have reset their accounts. I'm considering doing this although the thought of getting all those icons, titles, etc. is not all that enticing. I assume the only way to reset your record is to completely wipe the game and reinstall?

And it's not that I am all that dissatisfied with my record (720-646 in ranked with ~2,000 BP), but the fact that I am constantly seeing that I've played almost 1,400 ranked matches (aside from hundreds that didn't count, plus Friendlies) is a little disturbing. :D

Hahahaahah! X-D I think we need to get a philosopher on this one! ;)

The thing with the Sim vs. Guile match is that Guile can kinda take it easy. As a Guile player, I don't need to get in and punish unless I've already messed up and you've gotten a life lead. Sim however DOES need to get in to be able to win the match. Your Sim is a lot more aggressive than most of the ones I've played and it was a pleasant surprise to be matched up against that! I really try not to let myself be baited into Flash Kick just because I've done that before and gotten my ass handed to me as a result. So I really try to be conservative about when I use it. Plus it's a lousy anti-air so...

And I hear you about facing Akuma and Sagat players, though I've been working on FADC'ing through fireballs and punishing. I'm still pretty green at it, but once I get it worked out, those two won't give me much trouble.

I also had thought about resetting my account so that my BP would be 0 again, but like you, the thought of getting back all those icons and titles again convinced me otherwise.

And why would you feel negatively about having played almost 1,400 ranked matches? What is SF4 Volt if not a means of escape from the reality of our daily chores and a great source of entertainment. The number of hours and matches that you had put into this app is a testament of how awesome and addictive it is. Anyone who plays this app can appreciate that and I certainly do.

Besides... they're just numbers right? :D

I kinda like having 0bp again. It's kinda like trolling people in matches, because i'll play some 2300 bp player who thinks I'm some noob, then he gets blown up and wants the salty rematch. ;)

I've never really liked the Guile matchup from a Dhalsim perspective and even recommended to Snooper awhile back that it be changed from 4/6 to at least 5/5, which I think he did. And it's mostly for the same reasons you point out. He can also just be so deceptively quick. I personally love that backhand move to follow up a Sonic Boom (mixing in slams and sweeps to keep opponents on their toes).

Since you mention it, I should try FADC'ing through fireballs. I don't use Guile all that much anymore except the occasional Ranked Match and I stick with what I know in those matches. I like having fun in Friendlies and the only time I use them for practice is with characters that I am trying to learn (like Fei).

I may do it anyways just to give me more goals again (not like I have all the titles and icons though). And I don't really know why, except maybe for wanting a better record since a lot of my losses were when I was still learning SFIV (I had only played SFII previusly and that was old school days).

I'm not quite sure why I think it has negative connotations. But I'm married and the last thing I need is my wife learning that I've played 83+ hours of SFIV over the past few months! :D

But seriously, this game is incredibly addictive. I typically try to get in one quick match in the morning while I'm getting ready for work. But if I lose, I can't bear to walk away without getting in another match so I can leave on a high note. Haha.
