Thanks. I would changes the language back to English, but the Japanese voice actor for Chun Li is so good. Wish you could choose languages for each character like the console version.
Ready to play :/ Here's my latest match - http://sf4iv-en.capcom.jp/analytics/replay_download.php?r_id=20150405_17500429_748_5821CDDF_rpdata&d= Here's a pretty good Sakura.. After I won here she started beating me :/ http://sf4iv-en.capcom.jp/analytics/replay_download.php?r_id=20150408_04410401_194_5821CDDF_rpdata&d=
Did you ever get hit by a raging demon on purpose just to get some super bar (for example by making the most obvious of the jump ins)? Two possible scenarios: 1) a dominating round with still a lot of health, 2) a nearly lost round. That ultra builds a ton of meter, Blanka, Honda, Rog can all take advantage of it the next round.
If your winning the round there's no reason to give in just for more meter. There are other ways to gain meter effectively. Extended Block Strings, absorbing some normals and/or fireballs, blocking, whiffing special moves that are safe at a distance, whiffing as many specials as you can on hard knockdowns or soft knockdowns if they dont wake up fast. Unless your absolutely confident the guy has no chance for a comeback.
Man.. That match against the Akuma is actually really bad :/ .... I've been trying to find some matches against better opponents where I make some good executions etc... But playin Yun is so frickin hard... The game already favors Defensive characters/players/strategies... Yun Kinda has to be played aggresively and that's not even my style really... I've been havin to switch to Ryu alot cuz I'm just not able to keep that offensive pressure... I'm just wondering if Yun could be played in a more defensive way or something that's not so Agro... Here's a match against a Sagat that I won but I'm thinking he's not that great probly... http://sf4iv-en.capcom.jp/analytics/replay_download.php?r_id=20150405_00480432_161_5821CDDF_rpdata&d= I wanna try to explain my style in fighting games... I generally like to do things that to the normal experienced player would I guess be questionable... Of course it would only be really possible to implement my style once I have all the basics down as well as a good enough understanding of all the advanced type stuff. My ideal character would be Chin from Kof... His Drunken style I feel offers the kind of things I would like to do such as confusing my opponent, hoplefully leading to situations where no matter what I do I have win win situations set up by either progressing through offensively through comboing etc... Retreating back to a safe defensive place or just doing random things to see what my opponent does.. I dunno I guess I'd say I like gimmicky type charcters probly... That's why I've always liked Cody cuz I feel like he kinda fits that in a way... I mean I guess it's possible to use any character that way if you're good enough... But I'm just not... I dunno maybe I've gotten a little better but I'm nowhere near as good as all the skilled players that have been playing awhile... Able to do what they want in a match etc... I dunno really what to do in terms of who to play or if I can ever get as good I dunno probly mostly everyone here..
It sounds like you could play Dhalsim or Chun-li, you can basicly back off and play defensively and can switch to offense after getting any sort of knockdown/setup. Both character have very good mix ups, but the problem is both lack good reversals, so when your knocked down your best option will always be to block, few times back dash is a good option (unless your chun her backdash is the best in the game) and only if your 100% sure, you can do a reversal. You can also pick Blanka, he really has a very good arsenal and is well rounded, has a good reversal almost impossible to punish by some characters without meter. Can play defensive and offensively and is very gimmiky. Blanka's mixups are great.
No doubt that if you're winning there generally are better strategies for your meter building, but the question was not if you "sometimes" got hit on purpose, rather if you "ever" did. I've just seen the CPT2015 grand final with Momochi eating a super on purpose at the beginning of a round, just to shut down the meter dependent Xian's Gen for the rest of the round. Strategies like this are sometimes viable options.
After Xian won Evo 2 years ago, Daigo played him in a FT10 shortly after. Daigo said he purposely ate attacks when Xian had 2 bars+ so Xian would do FADC combos. So he wouldn't have to take a super, ultra later. Daigo won 10-0 iirc. I don't see the point to taking risks, but I guess if you are at full health and the meter really helps you chip them out, you might want to take it...
I suggest Blanka too. You can literally play him as either extremely aggressive or super lame: switching style between rounds throws some opponents off and they start making mistakes. Good damage, good at chasing runaways too, easy combos and a ton of gimmicks. Excellent against top tiers. Sort of the opposite of Yun...
Absolutely! I'll also try to force the player to use their super. Round three starts and I have a super ready to go while they have zero meter...let the pressure begin
Im not sure what you mean? All ex moves are non sp assist moves. If you mean normal up ball the answer is yes you can do it without sp assit but dashing already remove the charge so the only way to perform it is non sp assist, dash into up ball, unless you do a focus dash cancel (different to a normal dash) into normal upball. By far the easieast way to do it is while holding down back press focus then, focus dash cancel by sliding finger to down forward, up, K/SP In the lab the difficulty of execution: Dash ex/normal roll = very hard Dash ex/normal up ball = very hard Dash ex/normal back step roll = cant do it Dash ultra = hard Dash super = hard Focus Dash Cancel ex/normal roll = easy Focus Dash Cancel ex/normal up ball = easy Focus Dash Cancel ex/normal back step roll = normal Focus Dash Cancel ultra = easy Focus Dash Cancel super = easy The only move in that list that can be performed with SP Assist is Focus Dash Cancel into normal up ball
Well check out this replay of the veganfighter and legendaryCEO. http://sf4iv-en.capcom.jp/analytics/replay_download.php?r_id=20150410_23570420_597_16F0C7F2_rpdata&d= You guys are better experts than me but it doesn't look like a focus cancel to up ball. Maybe it is though.
definetly a focus dash cancel, the first frame has blanka crossing both arms, if it were a dash the first frame wouldve been a standing frame since you have to tap forward a second time
Mooken found out a while back you get some weird buffering properties when you come out of a FA. Press forward to get a second dash (with no delay in between) and you can charge moves during that time. This lets you do stuff like dash-->flash kick or flask kick, FADC, EX Sonic boom (midscreen). Additionally charge characters with <--,->,<-,->+p/k/sp motion for supers/ultras can use a dash motion as part of the ultra/super command
I tried for a while to do (with SP on) the combo: flash kick, fadc forward, ultra. As usual with these things that mix the dash motion with the ultra, I can only get it right to left, but in this case also the ultra does not fully connect. The problem is that the ultra motion has to start right after the flash kick otherwise Guile dashes back. Is it possible to get the full animation? Let me isolate a problem: if manually executing, an ultra's charge can be buffered and used by pressing SP while holding any direction (this can be quite some frame after the charge buffering for the case of an ultra). Instead ultra comes out by pressing the ultra button only when also holding down+back or back. So the game reads the two buffers for these methods differently.
I think harle explained it once, you have to cancel the flash kick as late as possible and hold 1-2 frames the focus the do the motion.
