Cr.mp hayate super ultra, to say one combo that changed the outcome of many matches, and if they're not dead yet she is still in super state for a while.
thats if makoto is not using the meter, and makoto must use the meter in alot of situations like getting closer to corner, whiff punishes, ex command grab can absorb 1 hit and the god like chop.
More like random axe kick, ultra or random command grab--> ultra. Or you know, just raw ultra, so that shit isn't scaled. 2f ultra imba
I like to do ex chop against jump-ins, and slightly meaty on they're wakeup. The super to ultra combo comes in handy when losing a match but still having a bit of meter, sometimes it is good to just save up to 4 bars and focus a bit for full ultra. I never used much the tech cr.lk into chop (or ex chop) that sexiness uses a lot as low/high mixup.
Anyone wanna play? What's with people that quit against Akuma? I didn't even think he was even close to being overpowered or even the best character? I dunno I feel like either Cammy or Sagat or dictator is the best? I remember that list I dunno I forgot where the link is?(I think Sakura was listed the worst or something?)
Akuma is the typical runaway characters and many people, me included hate that. Sagat is top tier with Cammy close behind https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1I5c8D7BQ9sku5lMrMVQXDMegV-9rQXRoyrYalkxnMNE/edit#gid=0
I hate Viper the most! Safe burn kick and ridiculous ultra damage. Blanka with his troll jump arc and throw animation are close. Then Cammy, Akuma, Bison, so on...
I feel like Chun Li shouldn't be ranked that low. If you know how to do c.hp legs it provides great chip, meter on block and hit, and can lead to combos into sweep and ex legs. Sucks about her c.mp, it's so bad! If you crouch tech and your opponent neutral jumps then you're dead. It's only useful to use of people's wake up as it avoids a lot of reversals. I think Chun Li should be with the top 10 or at least top 15.
Cr.mp is good on the balrog matchup, its also low profile attack, but yea i agree its pretty bad. Even if you re calculate all of her matchups, she has very few favorable ones and might end up being 15th max in the ranks and that would be exagerating her points too much and its still low for a 22 character rooster.
@Harle i think you should add the tier list to you sig maybe next to one of the other links divided by a ---- or something of the sort
Problems with Chun Li -xx Kicks at certain ranges whiffs some amount and is punishable. Can only extend the combo with FADC into 1f link. -Only decent reversal is EX SBK. And it flat out loses to some safe jumps (e.g. dive kicks or Cody's j.P) and is easily baited. Also, randomly loses charge when you are too close to the corner so you can't combo into Ultra. - Sloooow jump arc. get aa'ed for days -No actual normal of hers is +1. So cannot link into other normals. -s.K is so much worse than AE. Not many active frames. -SBK as a combo ender is sooo awkward. It does the most damage but Chun doesn't want to be close -EX Kicks, Ultra misses out on a lot of damage (was fixed in USF4) -How do you combo into Ultra midscreen (not off a jumping attack)? 3 options: (EX) Kikoken, Ultra (grounded opponent), cr.LK x2 (hitconfirm) xx Kikoken, EX FA 2, Ultra or Hazanshu, EX FA 2, Ultra -j.P hits so high. You can't use it in her safe jump. It will whiff!
You're right that Chun Li isn't the best character, she doesn't have reliable anti air or a good reversal but she has so many options. She has an overhead, although very slow it leads to combos and is good for pressure. Her c.lk while it may not be the best, is a low hitting normal that can hit confirm into combos which is rare in volt. Her sweep does 200 stun which is a lot! Plus her normals are all pretty great, Chun shouldn't really be jumping at her opponent she's more off a poking character and apply pressure when necessary. Her jump is very floaty true, but she has a cross up and a wall jump(somewhat useful despite her floaty jump). I think her jumping normals are some of the best because her j.hp can combo if hitting the opponent in the air. Her neutral j.hk has a hitbox on both sides. And she has an air throw, only three characters have this? Her anti air moves are iffy though. I agree her ultra options are a bit off, but I use her ultra only to punish moves with long start up, pther than that it is true that it is limited. I'm not sure if i would prefer kikosho though? Sad but true about her 1-frame link, but at least she still has to option to extend her combos.
FADCing legs is so bad. Damage-wise, your best combo midscreen is cr.HP/s.MP xx SBK. It's like your 4th most damaging combo including Super/Ultra at midscreen. I do enjoy playing Chun li though, but I just pretend everything is a frame trap and not a combo and hope they can't block
Just did both combos and with cr.hp sbk it is 7 more damage and 17 more stun. Legs combo uses 2 meters, but you don't have to stay crouched because you can get charge while doing legs.
All very true, if im point blank i do the normal kicks but i usually go for cr.lk, ex legs now which seems to be the safest way to go even though it uses 1 bar, it pushes the opponent back and its a safe block string and if it connects it opens up mixup heaven for chun-li, im practicing to go for 2 cr.lk if im close enough so i can hit confirm and not waste the meter mindlessly. Regular Kikoken ultra also works pretty good its actually pretty easy to confirm. Something i hate is that you have 0 setups after ultra, only in corner you can go for the stomps mix up but any wake up reversal would kill it unless it has a weird arc like cammy, blanka, yun, dj, etc. Back dash is godlike, i get so many whiff punishes after a back dash into sweep or st.mp if i feel i cant reach.
I find against charge characters, one of the best setups you can do is to space a really ambiguous flip kick. It makes it hard to aa as well. I'm also pretty content going for cr.LK xx Kicks on wakeup because its reliable and puts them at a good range for s.MP xx Hazanshu followup. Just pretend it's safe...
And I love it when you crossover and Bisons try to teleport to evade but you still get them with the EX kicks because you, like me, mash like a scrub!
