hi guys, i just pacthed to 1.02.. But i cant find any players thru wifi to vs... Wat happened? Tried uninstall n install... Still the same. need help
This is where EVERYONE (almost) hangs out, my friend! P/S: You may want to check out this thread. We talked about you a few times. Glad to see you finally joining...
Damn, I don't have such luck. All my opponents looks "normal" with 500/500 ratio, but still same result. If they win, I continued and play. Then the moment I win, they RQ. Oh well... Stopping online gaming for a while, getting bored of all this RQing...
Its sad to think this is what gamers are doing now? I have NEVER rage quitted and imo I don't spam (I main Ryu) but strangely I was paired up with a fei long fighter last night about 3 times in a row and each time they kept quitting on the versus screen... I was thinking what the heck seriously I'm average at best.. my only guess is that we must have fought before and they remembered me and I somehow gave them a right good spanking! therefore they feared another beatdown lol
This concept of "spam" is funny. Every now and then I play Ryu or something and find myself at full screen from someone. I shoot a fireball. They stand and block, rather than jump. OK, I shoot another fireball. More standing, more blocking. What possible reason do I have NOT to shoot another fireball? I'm building meter and getting free chip damage - which adds up - without putting myself in the SLIGHTEST amount of danger. After about 6 or so fireballs, folks quit and send rather nasty Gamecenter msgs, insulting me for "spamming" fireballs. If only they understood that it is a matter of reinforcement - by standing and chain-blocking my fireballs at full screen, they are COMPELLING me to send more for my free chip damage. I just wish those folks would realize that the best way to stop someone from "spamming" is to simply time your jump-ins...and the best way to make sure they keep spamming is to stay at full-screen and block, petulantly waiting for them to stop. /end soap box
The thing about Street Fighter is that there exist the unspoken rules of code of honor. The DO's and DON'Ts of Street Fighter. But not everybody play by these rules and those who don't are usually frowned upon. I understand why some players restrict themselves to certain play style and why some don't. Personally, for me, everything goes. If it works, it works right? And that's not an easy thing to saying since I main Zangief. As cheap as Zangief may seem to some players, there are exponentially more "cheap" ways to beat him and I face those challenges almost every other battle. That being said, I'm not immune to the frustration of being on the receiving end of Sagat's endless 'all you can eat' fireballs, or Akuma's game of 'catch me if yo u can'. And I'm sure I've given my fair share of frustrations to others. We all play with our own sense of game ethics, but don't expect others to play as we do cuz the game certainly doesn't care. @kiancheong, Thanks for the friendly welcome, mate
I mostly just dislike those "cheap" (for lack of a better word) tactics in Friendly matches. I main Dhalsim mostly for the reason that I can use his moves to best get through fireball "spammers" or other similarly annoying strategies in Ranked maches. If I get matched up against a solid player that is fun to play against, I'm more than happy to break out different characters. But mostly my diversity in character choice is reserved for Friendly matches. This is because I play these Friendly matches for fun (and to a degree, for experience). It's not a big deal, but I do get a lot of enjoyment out of whooping a spammy Akuma with Dhalsim after he played the catch me if you can/non-stop fireball game against my Fei (or some other non-fireball character). And I'll agree with Shoryutofu's sentiment, because I am pretty confident that my teleporting Dhalsim has annoyed the sh*t out of some people.
Jibba Junior huh?..... Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think we've crossed fist a few times IIRC. I must say, your Dhalsim is indeed annoying as sh!t. We must do it again sometime
I'm a bit of a spaceshot at times and often miss the Vs. screen before matches. I've said many, many pages ago that I wish they'd adjust the Vs. screen to show longer so I can make sure to see my opponent's record, name and BP (and any additional information would be great). In any event, I know that I know your name but am not sure whether it's from this thread or from playing you. I'm still only about a 2k+ player but I think I do alright. And if you main Zangief, then any credit would be better directed at the Dhalsim/Zangief matchup than any skills (or lack thereof) on my end. Haha. I think one of the only worse matchups is (unfortunately) Dhalsim/Cammy. Anyway, I'll add you on GC if you're up for a couple matchups sometime. Like you, my schedule is all over the place due to work, wife, kids, etc. but I'm typically available weeknights around 8-10 EST.
Hey Shoryutofu, welcome to the party! You and I gotta get in some non-laggy matches sometime soon! And Nullroar, I still have yet to play you haha! Glad to see this thread has picked up again, it was pretty quiet for several days.
Geezes, I guess everybody does hang out here... You Sir, have unfinished business with my fist! Yea, our last matches were unbearably laggy. Hopefully next time we match up will be under better playing conditions.
Everybody who's anybody! Congrats on being somebody now. And yessir we do have some unfinished business! Give me a few days, I quit playing for a bit, but I'm gonna get back into it and get my chops back up. Then you might be in trouble. Might. Hehe!
What characters can focus cancel an attack into a level 2 focus attack, causing a crumple state? Sagat can cancel high tiger shot into a LVL2. I'm curious as to what other characters can do this with what moves.
Got your invitation, friend. I'm available week nights sporadically around 7pm-11pm/12am PST GMT-8 or almost anytime weekends if I'm not out and about. I'm at work at the moment and can't play. No wifi. oh, and I don't go easy on friends or foe If you're cool with that, then we should get along just fine. Holy Moly! Mama alwuss says I'd be a sum-body and I'd nev'r doubted'er, not once. Uh, yes, Get back into the kitchen! I look forward to seeing what dishes you might be serving, but be forewarned, I have an insatiable appetite. LOL.
Ryu - Hadoken Ken - Hadoken - EX Hadoken Akuma - Gohadoken Guile - Sonic Boom Cody - EX Bad Stone Sakura - Hadoken - Shouoken The only ones I feel like listing at the moment... the other projectile characters can probably do it as well... but I dunno.
@Shoryutofu Hey man, I read your advices earlier and they were actually very handful. I play as Zangief too and I'm having trouble playing against Dhalsim, in fact I can't do anything on them, everything I do is countered. If I jump in, they do a HP, if I banish flat they do a yoga fire or a cp, and mosly of the times I fail on jumping the yoga fire, I really don't know what to do. I'm very good playing against any other character, but against Dhalsim, it seems like it's my first day playing street fighter. Do you have some advices on what do I have to do against Dhalsim?
I JUST GOT A DOUBLE PERFECT ON SOMEONE!!!! I'm so proud. He quit before I could record it. He was good too. Beat me 7/9 times but he quit when I got the double perfect. Funny because his comment was "quitters=worthless"
Hehe, you'll get a good heapin' helping of what I'M serving up. This is a great group of players and there are quite a few good ones around here. Glad you joined us! I always love it when they have comments like that and then they quit. I usually send them some troll mail when it happens.
