That's pretty much how it felt. Makoto/Cody/Chun/Yun used to be bottom tier. Then I played Sakura for 200 ranked matches. Holy crap is she terrible.

Have you ever played Zangief vs Sakura? You literally have to run away and press s.HK. In fact that's how I pretty much approach most of her matchups.

I'm not even sure Sakura has any good matchups. I put Sakura v DeeJay at 5.5-4.5, but I might even change that. Sakura's best matchup might even be the mirror...

As a note, I tried not to be biased about the matchups. I love playing me some Abel and Chun and I love destroying Guiles and Bisons with Chun, but charge players fall for s.MP xx Hazanshu, EX Kicks, Ultra waaay too much

I think I recognise that name, but not very memorable. I mean winning with Sagat against Chun? I think he might have a decent sim, but I'm pretty sure I was at least 50/50 with me picking random chars.

Also, no one is better than TenOnez. The only person that would be better, would be TenOnez with better meter management skills

It's 'From Nowhere.' It's one of Ches' alts. He's good. I ran into him in Ranked a few nights ago and beat his Sim with Bipson.

Tenny doesn't play anymore I don't think. He got discouraged with all the quitters and just hung it up. I don't know if he's still playing AE though.

*hey thanks for the match HQ, sorry for not being that good :/ (although I just won a match against a good Ryu player in Ranked..probly the best match I've ever played). If u ever wanna play again I'm down..

Hmm.. That's some Intersting matchup data.

I figured Tenonez was good but I didn't know he was considered the "best" around here atleast...I guess? Makes sense though as most of the matches I've seen him in he wins maybe except once?

Anyways, I feel like I've hit a wall that I can't get passed...I'm not quite sure what it is? Maybe trying to play Yun just requires too much skill...also the fact I havent managed to find anyone to play with to practice.. I usually am forced back into using Ken after loosing but I wouldnt say I'm great with him either..but maybe he's easier to play?

I try to emulate what Tenones does and I just fail miserably... I generally find myself not knowing what to do in most matches...and althought I do want to get better i just don't see it happening.. Just wish I could play someone here without connection problems etc..

Even though I know I'm probly no match for anyone here, I don't really mind losing as long as I can play with someone that's good for awhile or whatever.. :/

Oh well, my Gamecenter Id is Lcb12321...please play with me :( I don't know how else to get better?

I love Chun too, so I started maining her and put Cammy as a sub. C.hp legs(for 3 hits) fadc into sweep or into c.lk then spinning bird kick is my favorite combo. It looks so beautiful!

You're probably right about Tenonez being better, I just haven't played in a long time so I got worse. Winning rounds against tenonez were miracles.

you can try adding me (HarlequinRogue)'

For some reason my device says I'm not allowed to add people.

Yun is one of the hardest characters to play. And he has so many buttons and options there are a variety of ways to play him.

I don't think you can try and copy TenOnez. There's a lot more mind games going behind the scenes than most people understand. But mainly it's The Fear from playing against him and he capitalises on that well

Thanks for all the game Evanescent... (And thanks for going easy on me if u were I couldn't tell :))

Ya..I know he's hard to play and in terms of copying Tenonez i don't mean how he plays exactly just some of his comboes I guess..

I don't know? what other character would be good for me to try to play... I kinda play ken and other shotos... And In terms of moves that's all I've ever played so I kinda have no idea how to play anyone else.. I know whenever I've tried to play charge based character I always failed miserably...

But if I had to learn someone I think Cody looks kinda fun maybe Fei-long?

In terms of ease, I think Ryu, ken, cammy are quite easy to learn and play.

Have you done all the trials? I still go back and play arcade mode to get a feel of each character.

I also think I got your friend request but there is nowhere for me to accept, and googling the problem doesn't help

Ggs. My advice would be work on combos and use more divekick! Also use his launcher, for resets and combos. I like to use his super, but that depends on your playstyle.

I don't get the best connection from other players on TA. Maybe because I'm west coast. :p

I added you, but I'm not sure I can even win a round. The last time you played, I couldn't win with Cammy...

Ya...I know I was just kinda nervous I guess... What about Cody?(that was like literally the first time I ever used him lol)

I'm trying to get down the combo Tenones does all the time( well two of them or actually it's kinda just variotions on one) he does jumping punch into back medium kick Into Tetzuzanko( F dwn F A)Into Zessuo Hohou(dwn F A)

And he also does two low kicks Into a standing punch into a Crouching punch(or aome form of that) then something. The other version of it starts with the dive kick... I feel like this is his go to combo move that is usually is inescapable.. He has alot of diff. Little variations where he can use both of Yuns target comboes, go directly into a back kick launcher etc.. Or even a Zenpou Tenshin.(fwd dwn back kick) or a Nishokakyu( F d f k)

I dunno how the heck he pulls it off so easily...

cl.MK, Shoulder, Zesshou Hohou/F+P (EX Shoulder in corner) is your standard combo.

If you want to play yun, you're gonna wanna figure out if you wanna learn his 1f links, which TenOnez does plenty of. I manage to play Yun without it though; it's a different style

I think I'm just kinda winging it now... I don't think I'm good enough yet to pull off exact stuff..

However, I just won 3 outta 5 ranked matches! I dunno, maybe playing with you helped me relax a bit and play more carefully.. I was able to beat a spamming Bison/Dictator and a pretty good Akuma( also spamming :/) I figured out how to get in close without jumping right into a shoryuken etc.. Lost to a Sagat that came down to the end and a Cammy that I couldn't even touch though :/

Does practicing against computers help at all? Or should you just play other people? And what about training mode against a standing opponent?

Yeah they were talking about him.

The problem with copying Tenny's combos is that even if you get the combos right, you're not able to get yourself into a situation to use them. If I were you, I'd just work on the basic BnBs right now, simple combos you can do in your sleep so that you can focus on putting yourself in situations where you can land said combos. It doesn't matter how great a combo you can do if you can't get into a situation where you can land it.

As for other characters, Id say if you're going to play shotos, Ryu is the way to go. He's a great way to learn all the basics like footsies, FADCs, zoning, etc. especially if you're new, Id pick and play him for awhile while you're working on your Yun.
