Got an iPhone 6 too. The only annoying thing I have come across with respect to volt is that it doesn't show who I'm paired against in friendlies before char select
Just here to say some good news is that SFIV arena got an update today and its got a new mode that is just like Volt. No boost, No stats, Online mode, With all characters unlocked just like volt. The bad news is its got a coin system, you can play forever until you loose then have to spend 1 coin and they give you 5 to start, not sure how to get more coins without $$ yet have to test further. Good connections matches are better than volt, no input delay, 100% 20 fps. Most matches are laggy though cause your fighting korean people. So now we can play volt with random people online on iphone 6+-6-5-5S and people with android phones with retina display, full screeb gameplay, and some good looking new features. Bonus: special nerf to sagat that pushes you out of the corner when he hits you with ultra in the corner.
I was going to ask how the f*** is 20 FPS "100%", and then remembered that Volt plays at 20 FPS lol So there's no GC?
If they add a way to pay for infinite coins at a reasonable price, it might be good, but it's not gonna happen as it is probably the way they plan to get moneys.
Could someone do a tutorial on how to "forge" a replay on Volt? I'm tired on trying a combo in KoF-i 2012 on Bluetooth Mode to get the KO and both games use the same files for the replays.
no GC cause the cause is cross platform Android and IOS all together so you can play using an iphone vs a galaxy for example. the volt mode is random select though, you can only play the Arena regular mode vs friends (with the boosted chars and stats)
there is still much to learn about this mode, we still don't know how to get the coins and its under maintenance right now
That's all cool but I still don't feel like I will play Arena that much. Did you already got rid of Volt? That's still less than all the time I've spent on this stupid combo. It isn't only a hard one but the input delay and random lag of the BT Mode makes it waaaaay more difficult. Like WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY more difficult.
Capcom should come out with an update or something for street fighter. We are already at iphone 6 and it is not even optimized for iPhone 5.
That would be awesome! Although I suck at sf3 compared to volt but I would love to learn how to play it.
What about the parry mechanic? Would it work on ios controls? Maybe it even becomes broken: parry into srk with the SP button. I can already see tenonez just standing there and waiting.
Having SP wouldn't change that much the parrying part of the game. Parrying would still be the same (tapping forward or down on the joystick), and canceling the parries is already quite easy in the game itself. Adding a SP button wouldn't change it a lot. The only thing the SP button would change is that it would be way easier to get a reversal. The reversal window in Third Strike is quite short, nothing like in SFIV, and most of the time when trying to go for a wakeup DP/Super/whatever, you wouldn't get it as a reversal. I think it would be an easy job. It would only have the joystick, a P button for punches, a K button for kicks, a SP button for the special moves, a UO button for the Universal Overheads and either a PA (Personal Action) button for the taunts or pressing the characters' icons to get a taunt. Then the bars would be under the stun bar (like in Volt) and touching either of them would trigger the Super you chose (again, like in Volt). f/b + P and f/b + K would be used for the forward and back throws (most neutral throws are bad compared with the others so no biggie). When playing against a happy-throws player in Volt most of the time you'd go for back + P to either tech a throw or block an upcoming attack. If you were in front of one of the corners and happen to get a throw you wouldn't get the opponent to the corner, while going for back + P with f/b + P being the forward throw and f/b + K being the back one would give you an advantage if you happened to get a throw. Honestly I would get rid of the SP and AB (AutoBlock) options, thus getting rid of the normal inputs (doing for example a QCF + P with Ryu would get you the normal you'd get with f + P instead of a Hadouken and doing a f + P with Charlie's son after charging for a while would get you the normal you'd get with f + P instead of "Sonic Boom") and the game wouldn't have AB either. The rest would be choosing what normals each character should get. Honestly the worst part of the iOS port would be the throws. They are just TOO fun in Third Strike, and I fear that changing them into KoF-like throws would destroy that.
