No, because yun has like a +6 advantage (something like that anyway) when you block a properly spaced divekick. So if you did anything except for jump away or backdash after the divekick was blocked you would get command grabbed, and yun has options to counter both of those. You could focus backdash the divekick, but if he does a meaty palm instead then thats gonna break the armor.
Just checked to see what characters hi54ever is uisng in the upcoming match, and someone had changed yun to dhalsim on my characters accidently haha
Blanka. But I lost all night (I ended up at like 1.8k from 2.9k) as Blanka, Gief, etc. When I was Blanka, I'd face Honda. When I was Gief, I'd face Sagat. But last night I was just garbage all-around. I lost Gief mirrors and dropped games to basic spam because my slide-punch input all too often has me walking forward into a fireball, blanka-balling into a fireball, or (when I feel like I input a frame too early and press punch again once or twice), doing an electric thing....into a fireball. And I KEPT GETTING BAITED..and taking the bait. Every time. It's like a reaction for me to counter-grab as Gief the sec someone lands. Enemy jumps in ---> I block ----> I think "don't counter grab!" ----> I counter grab ---> he's already done a neutral jump ---> I'm thinking "oh shi...." ---> punish. Maybe it's time to play something more befitting my abilities. I hear hello kitty island adventure is challenging. /Sigh.
you are very good player. just that sf4 stuff depends also on other things, like the moon position for example. sometimes i can win and win even vs 2k or even 3k players and sometimes i start to loose to any random 100bp ken player who just spams srks. and for matchmaking, i still use sagat from time to time and if i use it i definitely face akuma or mirror, what is much more easy when i play bison. but i think i have found how people freeze the game or appearing of the stats screen and then there is disconnection without bp loss for them, seems like simply opening the task manager and waiting for some time is enough, capcom should better fix that if they can.
yay, it is always so fun to play vs your bison, helps to improve my bison too. thanks for the nice games.
You know, I noticed that a lot. More disturbingly, right before I lost tons of bp, I was going to break 3k - beat a 3.4kish Akuma when I was 2.9, but right as I got him in the "damaging" part of my ultra (the part where he dies, as he had no health, and I landed it), he quits. Played him again moments later (he chose a different char) and he had the same bp. He quit at the start screen when he saw it was me. Frustrating that some folks can do that still, but at least it's not as bad as it was before.
@Nullroar btw, is it possible to block blankas low sliding kick at the beginning of a round? i know you can just simple jump and it works. but it seems if you just press down at the beginning of the game it is not fast enough to block it.
Yes that's me. Can you post it? Did you whoop me? Haha. Would love some feedback. I've plateaued a bit with Dhalsim.
The slide punch? Yeah, it's got a bit of start up time to it, no trouble blocking it - just hold down + backwards at the start if you think someone is going to try it. It counts as a "sweep" so auto block won't help.
Tried to play Ranked Match today, waited 5 minutes on the queue, looks like theres's no one with 1500~2500 BP playing right now Anyone up for some friendly matches?
Most of the videos I posted are the ones where I won, so I guess I must have whooped your Dhalsim I can recall your nick becuase it was some sort of an epic match, but I don't remember which one was the match I had with you. I placed all of them in a playlist here: http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLC72D85E7A7FB86AE
So I'm not the only one this happens to? Seriously I think once a month, the game itself says, "Oh, you've been winning too much. Here, tangle with this scrub Ken and get beaten. That will make you more humble." And I proceed to lose to EVERYONE. Especially people I know I could beat. It's just really frustrating and I don't even have that much fun playing ranked. I think I may just start playing friends and friendly matches exclusively. You can actually, if you're jailbroken that is, collapse the SF4 app, turn on Airplane Mode, and it will cut the connection. As long as you don't quit the app, you'll keep your bp.
Damn. Can't figure out which one is me. They all seem slightly different from my play style but there were a couple that it could have been. I have more BPs than those Dhalsims, but I did go through a stretch a month or so ago where I plummeted because I was just playing horribly and was on tilt from ragequitters and getting my own ranked drops due to text messages. Thanks for posting. Feel free to add me if you ever want some Friendlies.
Accepted. I've yet to play friendly matches against GC friends so don't even know where the invitations for matches show up. I'll look for you online sometime though.
