I was thinkin about stuff that could take advantage of Honda's slow crumple and hitbox and that was the first idea that came into my mind. I didn't know that EX FK only gives better juggling vs grounded opponents.

Blanka can do (EX) Backstep Roll on Honda and Zangief after FA3.

Seems like the rest of us meant it.

Even I've stopped playing SFxT 'just to remind myself how bad it is'

    Balrog Matchups
    Blanka: 4-6
I feel this is hard for Balrog. Blanka breaks armour easily and his jump arc is quite frustrating
    Cammy: 4-6
Spiral Arrow is really strong here. Slow Headbutt loses to divekick pressure
    Chun Li: 6-4
In matchuos like this Balrog can leverage EX punches and Turn Punch really well.
    Cody: 5.5-4.5
Cody breaks armour easily, but Balrog is going to land more ultras than Cody.
    C.Viper: 4-6
Charge characters generally are pretty poor against Viper.
    DeeJay: 6-4
    Similar to chun
    Dhalsim: 5-5
Playing both sides, I feel like neither side is really favoured.
    E. Honda: 4-6
Honda breaks armour and just does a lot of damage.
    Fei Long: 4.5-5.5
Rekkas punish a lot of balrog's approaches
    Guile: 4.5-5.5
Only noob Guiles like slrc lose to Balrog. Protip: guile's s.K keeps balrog out of the game really well.
    Ken: 5-5
Pretty fair matchup. Ken can bully Balrog a bit, but Balrog dominates at midscreen
    Makoto: 6-4
Despite Makoto's insane buttons, I think Balrog has better footsies.
    M. Bison: 4-6
Balrog has trouble punishing Psycho Crusher and he gets blown up by cr.LK
    Ryu: 4.5-5.5
Ryu will have to change his game to not throw fireballs recklessly. But he shouldn't be affected too much by this
    Sagat: 3.5-6.5
Tiger Knee crushes any thing balrog can do. Matchups like this make me wonder how is Tiger Knee with 1f startup even close to fair.
    Sakura: 6-4
It feels like Rog just runs over sakura in this.
    Vega: 5-5
Quite fair. It feels like Rog is slightly weak to flying cheese, but he has a lot of good footsies options
    Yun: 4-6
Rog is weak to divekick and wakeup pressure
    Zangief: 2-8
I have no idea how Balrog can win this matchup. I guess use cr.HP and run away?

In ~5 hours KoF XIII, SSFIV AE, BBCT and MK9 will probably be on sale (it's a community's choice sale) on Steam.

Also, Killing Floor is on sale right now too for 5€ ($6.80). It's a VERY good COOP zombie shooter.

I'd say 3-7. Balrog doesn't really have anything to beat Zangief.

    Skullgirls on Steam for ~4€!!!

I went through some replays, mr.zangief (aka cyrus814) vs tenonez and photanics and tenonez vs other zangiefs. The matchup seems like a 4-6 on giefs favor. Basicly ex armor, focus and cr.hp keeps zangief out of the air. Focus is fast enough to punish the jump ins (not the delayed ones). Sweep and St.Hk are your friends on this match. Dash straight, and ultra to punish lariats from mid screen. Jump back HP kills the green hand spam or attempt and if you hit confirm you got yourself a combo punish. Wakeup game is basicly a 50/50 for both chars. Though when zangief is on knockdown balrog can only bait and zangief can do a setup so since zangiefs wakeup game is better i would say its a 4-6 matchup (also judging from the 30+ replays i just watched)

TenOnez is so good, his 2-8 matches look like 5-5.

It's not as bad as say, Yun v Sagat or Gief, where Gief Lariat actually beats everything Yun can do.

I feel like Rog can't use turn punches or dash straights at midscreen to poke vs gief and you need to play really patient. But for gief, you can literally push random buttons and just beat out rog

Some people say that Poison's inputs don't work as intended.

The USFIV release seems as bad as SFxT's. LOTS of hitbox problems, no trials nor rival scenes for the new characters, framerate issues, El Fuerte's restand is STILL in the game and Hugo's wasn't fixed... Jeez.

I know what you mean that is why i watched other balrogs vs gief. Still doesnt seem that much in favor of gief. 4-6 or 3.5-6.5 at max

    The low tier.
HR is right. I'd say it's 3-7. I think it's worse than Gief vs Sagat. Against a gief that knows the matchup, Balrog can't do shit on Gief's wakeup. I learned from TenOnez to jump back fierce on Gief's wakeup b/c it beats all gief's wakeup specials, but it's not safe - Gief can wakeup jump toward bodysplash and it beats Rog's jump back fierce. Gief can out footsie rog, and once he's in and the vortex starts, it's game over. Rog has to play like Dhalsim vs Gief, and that's not what he's built to do.

    The low tier.
Was messing around with Gief v rog CPU. SPD, empty jump toward, SPD is inescapable for the CPU.

Actually with Gief, after SPD, if you do greenhand after, you are exactly neutral. So you can block a reversal DP. Or just play 50/50 game with another SPD or cr.HK/lariat whatever.

Yea giefs wakeup is OP vs rog, but rog can do a good job in zoning gief out with his normals, just like the chun-li matchup its all about the normals to zone gief out.

    The low tier.
only gief has zero reason to be on the attack because balrog doesnt have a fireball, and his st mp beats everything

Again, I mostly agree, but the numbers feel a little bit low overall. Rog is one of those characters that shines on "those" days (those days when you read the opponents like books).

Gief's matchup is very bad, but I'd relax it to 3-7. It is fundamental to play lame and know when inside or outside green hand range. Rog's backdash is excellent too. I do agree that it is 2-8 if the connection is not the best though.

Sagat feels more 4-6. It is relatively easy to corner them: just mix a few random headbutts to make them scared of neutral and backward jump. If the damage of headbutt into ultra was on par with Sagat's only useful combo, or if Sagat's health was a bit lower I'd even give it a 5-5. I often find myself switching to Rog to face a fireball happy Sagat.

For Sim I'd put 5.5-4.5. It is easy to close the space and Sim's missing the long range medium and light buttons to protect ex rushes thorugh fireballs.

I heard that Rog-Viper is in Rog's favor, but it doesn't feel like it since she can play very offensive and Rog hasn't much more than random headbutts and well timed air hp, so I do agree with you.
