Lol. Ok. You seem pretty bothered by the accusation, I've already apologized and I already took your word for it and I also explained why I brought it up...so.

Btw it was a posting you did on line chat so I was just putting two and two together. With regards to doing moves with/without sp assist I got my info from Harley, whome I consider a volt expert, if he says something can/can't be done with sp assist I just assume he's right.

And as I said previously, I don't mind handicaps so long as people aren't playing lame. You don't play lame so I didnt mind you playing with sp assist (if you were).

I said ggs and I meant it, I'm sorry you read more into my post.

Players have the right to play the game in the way they want as long as the game allows them to play like that (no hacks). They bought the game after all.

Some may hate Akuma players who only know to run away and spam fireballs, players who only use top tier characters and rely on counter picking, players who go ON-ON, RQers and so on, but that's just the dev's fault for allowing something like that to happen, even if from the player's POV it appears that the other player just doesn't care about the game or whatever.

Heck, everyone knows here that I like SFxT more than Volt (although less than KoF-i 2012), and that game has probably the most unfair features we've ever seen in a fighting game. Starting with the gems (or boxes or however you want to call them), I got really bored quite a while ago of using lvl 5 Inmense Power. It leads to wins after two combos and even some ohko combos, and it's one of the reasons why "high level players" don't know ANYTHING about the game (why would anyone try to find powerful combos if P, P, P, Cross Art deals enough damage with Inmense Power activated). As such, I decided to go lvl 1 (I can't go without gems) to make battles a bit more interesting, but that doesn't mean that the rest of the players will do the same. I still find some who will just use King and mash K whenever I do an unsafe move and get an easy win through the use and abuse of launcher + lvl 5 Inmense Power. I curse, I swear and I hate them, but there's nothing I can do against that. Using or not those "cheats" it's an option that the game itself gives the players, so raging it's completely useless, and I just have to live with that because I still like the good things about the game.

Asking other players to play however I want is an option, but it won't solve anything. Some players may do that (fun fact: another player in the SFxT chat also started playing using lvl 1 only and he's still using lvl 1 along some other players who followed his suggestion, his username is something like "lvl1 is fun games" or something like that), but some others won't. The best thing anyone who sees things like this as unfair is talking with the dev about it, for example through an update proposal, even if (in this case, Capcom) the dev doesn't give a $hit about it.

About the ON/OFF topic, I'd like to see the current games and any future ones with SP ON (without the gestures for the special moves and supers) and AB OFF always, without an option to change that.

You are absolutely right and I play how I want to play, I just happen to tell everyone what I like. If you want to turtle & mash, go for it, I just won't have any part if it.

As I've said many times, I play for fun.

    We're all cool now, great.

For the return to sf after the break I decided to go to AE, which seems to hurt my tendons less thanks to the stick. It was a satisfying experience, so I figured if some of you want we might organize some evening fight room. Let me know.

I have it on ps3 and PC but I rarely play. Captyadier invited me a year ago and I don't think I've ever played him.

What's the most useless move in the game?

My vote goes towards Vega's Super.

    You can combo into it.

    Chun's cr.MP is terrible

No one uses Honda's cr.MP (but it is like +1 on hit)

the next time i see someone combo into vega's super in a match will be the first time

it's def the most useless move in the game, given it's paltry damage output and the fact it uses 4 bars (which could be put to much better use)

    fei's st k, also terrible

Hey, at least Vega's super is miles better than it is in AE.

You can combo fei's st.mk after a long range chicken wing which would be one of its uses besides a poke (bad poke) but works.

I have to go with chuns cr mp

Abel's ex sky fall and Akuma's ex shakunetsu are pretty useless too.

After cr.HP, EX Falling Sky does less damage than a wheel kick. But there are times, when you can use it to anti-air

Akuma's EX Shakunetsu Fireball has some nice recovery and juggle points so you can do s.HP xx EX Shakunetsu, Goshoryuken in the corner

The day I say ex shakunetsu is crap you upload a vid using it like 100 times. Says something on my timing.

Anyway, we should distinguish among the most useless special and normal. Maybe even more.

About the most useless normals... I always thought of Yun's cr.MP -> cr.HP TC as the most useless normal in the game. After Yun's cr.MP using Shoulder is WAY better than using TC. It's still safe while dealing chip damage, the damage on hit is the same but cr.MP -> Shoulder deals more stun, and while both can be canceled into Super, Shoulder has more hitstun so it can combo into Genei Jin's Shoulder.

BUT at least it's way faster than cr.MP -> Shoulder, so it's better at breaking FAs. Way better. So at least has some use.

    Therefore I vote Chun's cr.MP. It's just a way worse st.MP.

Regarding specials, I don't know. Either Dhalsim's Yoga Blast (it's recovery is just BAD) or Cody's Fake Bad Stone. Probably I'd go with Fake Bad Stone.

@capt I was searching the Nina/Chun Li combo video you made for SFxT but it seems you took it down. Do you still have the transcript? I'm working on another (and at the moment WAY better) CMV but I don't have anything for Nina and only a few things for Chun Li.

I really dont understand the Yun post. Chun-li's St.mp is a godlike poke probably one of the best in volt next to sagats cr.mk. Dhalsims yoga blast is super good if you learn the timing just practicing with it a few times and you can teach your opponent not to jump on you. Fake stone is a good bait just like yun's palm fake, and vipers cancels. But yea cr.mp is soooooo bad, bad startup, less range than st.mp, not cancellable, its only use would be to dodge some setups cause of its super small hitbox (works well to dodge on some akuma setups).

yea i took that video down loooong time ago but i still remember chun-li-nina stuff.

EDIT: ok so i read again the posts, his cr.hp is not a TC its actually a normal that hits 2x. Thats why i was so confused.
cr.hp is actually pretty good for stylish geneijin combos to keep the opponent grounded.

EDIT2: Did we just reach 40k posts? or was this thread cleaned up.

    40K!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

it sucks to whiff it, but it's super effective
