THE KING OF FIGHTERS i 2012 THE KING OF FIGHTERS-i 2012 THE KING OF FIGHTERS-i 2012. Yup, just searched, each AppStore has a "different" app, so probably SNK changed the people you can play with in each app, and since they are different apps you can't even use GC to play with people that got the app in another AppStore. The funny thing is that I got the game from the USA store. Can't believe I had so many smoothly matches against people in USA. I always thought I was playing against European players. Very nice netcode then.
DP, FADC -5 on block in Ultra. Can you imagine something like that in Volt? I can't, but I wish I could. No more free DP, FADC, Ultra without any risk. So far I'm liking how Ultra is turning out, but I'm still not a big fan of the Red Focus. It wasn't really needed.
If its -5 and you dash back, dont you get punished by 3-5 frame reversals with long range. Like ryu's super or ken's dp or chun-li's super, etc.?
Oh sure, but that list of punishes is quite small. It's like when you play Oni. All your stuff is negative and you just pretend it isnt and beat people.
Not volt related but street fighter related; if you guys have loved street fighter since the beginning check out this really good article: http://www.polygon.com/a/street-fighter-2-oral-history
What I'm feeling now about US and jap servers: Jap servers is lamer. More runaway spam or just plain mashing. Mashing srk on wakeup or mashing fireballs. I'm actually quite liking US server. People I feel are less lame than jap server and than don't mash on wakeup as much as they used to. There is a semblance of footsies and people not abusing top tier characters. Anyone else feel this?
I think the competition is bad in ranked. Too easy. Friendlies has better comp but more scrubs...especially Guiles and Bisons. They replace Akuma as the new scrub characters in Volt now.
They had a broadcast yesterday on SF2, probably interviewing the curator of the article. It's probably online on polygon's youtube page now. What is your first SF memory? I remember having to watch my older cousin playing SF1, dieing for the chance to play.
Every game needs to have this Jail system that KI is trying to implement. People with more than 15% RQ/DC percentages get put "in jail," and only get paired with other people who are in jail. RQers only get paired with other RQers. It's not working yet, but damn I want that in everything.
It's really difficult making a system that can tell without problems not only if someone RQ'd or got a call, etc, but also who was the actual RQer. Supposedly SFxT is better at this than Volt (the player who didn't quit doesn't get a you got disconnected message or any other thing, just keeps playing against the AI while the other guy loses a credit, the win streak and get a lose), and still not only people have found ways to bypass this system, but sometimes it also fails and you lose all those things as if you were the actual RQer. I've read here before that Volt has a ragequit hell, which should be the same jail system from KI but without the "entry fee", yet I'm still getting paired time and time again with some RQers. This was posted in the EH post about the KI's jail system failing by Mike Z, the main guy behind Skullgirls:
The system can't, but the consoles most likely can, so it should be the local copy of the game communicating it.
GGs to both TenOnez, that raped me yesterday, and Harlequin, that did it today. Too bad for the sporadic lag spikes, I do my best to have the fastest connection, but... you know... we're thousands of km away. It's a satisfying feeling to see one of your names appearing during matchmaking, since it does not imply random ultras and stuff like that.
Volt does have a jail, RQer hell, as has been mentioned. You automatically go there if you RQ at least three times in a spam of 20 matches. All you get paired with are other RQers.
GG. Sorry I had to run, had to head to work. Try using Guile's s.MP and cr.HP as aa instead of relying on Flash Kick
If that's true then Volt's jail either doesn't work, or it only works for ranked matches, which I don't play.
